My main is Minmatar (Sebiestor bloodline), chosen as a result of the personality test on the EVE site. I've always been a fan of the underdog and the outcast, and their basic backstory was appealing to me. And then when I saw their ships and station architecture, it felt even better. Granted, I did peruse the other races before choosing Minmatar, but they just didn't have the same sort of instinctual appeal. I recently rolled this alt as a Gallente just to mix it up a bit, seemed the next best fit with my own personal beliefs and aesthetic. So far I'm enjoying it, even though Gallente ships have that weirdly lovely asymmetrical quality. I think MMOs by nature require an emotional investment in order for the player to really get the full effect of the experience. The greater your appreciation for your in-game character, the greater the connection, at least according to my experience.
What made you choose who you are in the EVE universe, and why?

Pretty much the same reasons as OP for my Minmatar character too. I also had a second character on this account who was Gallente , because like was said it seemed the next best thing. He did get biomass end though while still an alpha clone to make room for my Minmatar FW guy. Minmatar side deliberately chosen for the same reason as it was chosen for Dirk.

Da is caldari, I started out thinking I would do pvp, but took a different path.
My fav race, based solely on old feelings towards its ships are Gallente, ever since I could use a thorax with 5 miner 2's and 8 heavy drones... mm that's was my mining ship of choice till the first drone nerf,

Did the trial as Gallente, because they seemed the most humane and complex.
Undocked and saw this ship in profile that looked like the sort of deep sea fish you would throw back out of sheer respect. It was a thrasher.
Subbed as Brutor Minmatar, Tribal Traditionalist. Lucky too, now i can fly everything.
If i could have a 2nd account for cynos, they'd all be Vherokior women, the matari asian variant, because their avatars always seem to be nova-hot.
Bottom line is: the avatar could be a blue-ringed octopus, doesn't change a thing. You can still train all the things.

In terms of human race - Gallente, because the Hanging Long Limb is native only to (and only survives in) Gallente space. Freedom and humanity and all that other stuff about Gallente too I guess.

Interestingly enough Theruesse IV is a storm planet and not a temperate as one would think when reading about roes attached to trees. No wonder no one could cultivate Long Limbs outside that planet, the conditions they live under are rather odd.

Anyone who doesn't choose the Caldari master race deserves to be locked up in an Amarrian breeding facility. All other races are inferior. The Gallente can't subjugate us and the Minmattar can't even revolt without outside help. Amarrians are afraid of us and the Jove aren't even humans anymore so they don't count. |

But I agree. Vargur. Sexiest ship in the game, hands down. Just dropped Min BS V after finally getting LG Proj V. 27d to my Vargur. |
