I'd like CCP to recognize that they don't ban shared titan and supercarrier accounts.
Ever.

This thread is going places and really it should be. Shared Titan accounts do break the TOS and it should be addressed. |

You'll want to reword it to something along the lines of "CCP should allow account sharing so my wife and I who live in different countries don't get banned by accident." Day 0 advice for new players: Day 0 Advice for New Players |

CCP obviously doesn't like account sharing, but actively monitoring that stuff easily leads to false positives.
I think they prefer to give idiots rope. See, if one of the people you share a titan account with decides to do something naughty (like using your roles to do bad things and pin them on you, or outright stealing your personal stuff) and you petition for account hacking, the GM could respond "so, considering that we see this guy logging into your account for x number of months despite you changing the password 3 times in that span of time, how exactly did he get four different passwords?" You give them your bullshit excuses, then they outright tell you that you're dumb for sharing accounts and that while they'll punish the other guy, you're getting a vacation too for creating unnecessary work for the GMs.
The policy also gives them grounds to ban two or more players involved in a separate EULA violation that involves shared accounts, so there's no way that they'll formally allow any sort of account sharing. Twitter: @EVEAndski

There was a fanfest video that talked about this topic at a point. They seemed to be making the point that sharing an account with another person is not the actual problem. It has to do with tracking hackers, RMTers and the like. It becomes impossible for them to seperate an "innocent" account sharer from someone who is selling their account for RL money.
This is why they are more likely to ban your account if it's shared across regions than they are if both IP are in the same 5km radius let's say. In fact some may argue they won't go after you at all if the locations are close, as many people play from work and various locations with no issue. It's just more financially viable for me. |

A corporation or alliance having access to their supercapitals (or any valuable asset) 23.5/7/365 would seem to be a pretty big problem, if you ask me. I'd even call it a "game breaking" problem. Not to mention that it deprives CCP of revenue that more than one person can use the supercapital or other asset without having to pay for their own separate account. That's probably why someone, somewhere along the way, decided to make it against the EULA.
It's disappointing to hear that such exceptions are being made. Oh well, though . . . EVE is still a great game. :-( |
