Edited by: ReaperOfSly on 08/06/2006 16:19:07 I use a dominix myself. 2 LARs, 4 race specific hardners, 1600mm plate and 5 cap rechargers makes for a pretty solid tank. I can go afk, make a sandwich, come back and see that all those red plus signs have been turned into loot cans by my ogres --------------------------------------------------------------------

Apoc Navy Issue w/ Centus X-type Large Reppy + T2 Medium and Light drones, and ofcourse other goodies. I use t2 crystals as well.
Every single Lvl 4 is a joke, though not sure how it would stack up against the other favorites.
I REALLY would like to get into a Fleet Tempest for missions as well. Shield tank for some missions, armor tank for others, and have some fun flying that bad boy like a cruiser around the NPCs. Guess that is what the machariel is for tho.

i use vulture for all lvl4's can solo all but angel extravaganza bonus gate which don't want to attempt because there too many ships for 1 to handle plus they scamble big time. DPS is kind of low but with right skills and 3 mag stabs its ok (rof is 3.51 with 530 perfect/anti <60k effective range). I dont change my set up (dread invi is the only hardner) for any mission except for some with heavy em damge. Obviously webber is a must when using 250's. Worlds Collide and GE4 take 2-3 hours. Set up is somewhat pricey(only guns t2 the rest faction and officer stuff) so may not work for everyone but i tried it with all t2 modes and it was still very good. Raven is ok but in some missions frigs can take forever to kill using just drones and 2 guns or u have to change a split between ur main and secondary weps which i dont like to do. I tried all but amarr BS's and found vulture to be the most flexible against all ship types in lvl4's.

I use a cerberus
5 Heavy II Tractor
Invuln II (only because I am lazy and can't be be bothered to tweak for different missions) Shield Amp 10Mn AB (rat drop) 2+Small Gisti
2 BCSII Pseudoelectron Damage Control PDS II
I've done all lvl 4 missions quite happily in that (including enemies abound) and it happily runs both boosters, invuln II and DCS plus weaps or one booster and the same plus AB perfectly stable. Even running all active modules, it takes a long time to run out of cap.
I do also have half a low grade crystal set in my head (when not at war!) so I can actually run all bar Enemies Abound 5 of 5, locations with lots of sentries and when I screw up (or for fun) and aggro more than I ought to, with a single booster running.

Originally by: Mc Fraser A gisti raven pwns everything very quickly easpecialy with gd skills in torps bs's seem to melt like ice to a hair drier and cruiser and bc die very fast 2 and t2 medium drones eat the frigs up fast enough.
i run a gist b type tank on my raven with xl boost, amp, 2 specfic hards, and a dread invun field. so far it has run into no probelms and the tank runs for sum crazy lenght of time i think mine atm is 3times more efficent than armor tanking.
a corp mate uses just t2 hardners with a gisti b xl boost and amp but he does have a low grade cystal set which brings his boost to 1008 for 170ish cap which is just abit mental in my book he also runs t2 torps. He has tanked every 'hard' lv4 mission.
I am anxiously working towards a Gisti fitted CN Raven with officer pdu's as well as a Corpum A type eos for missioning. As both should be beyond uber...depending on the mission. But even a dual nos cruise raven with four hardeners xl boost and amp holds up like a champ now. Not warped out yet.

The best way to compare ships for missions is not if you can do them or not. Every HAC and BS can do level 4 missions if you got skills and eq, but the time they need to complete missions will vary.
For example, in my domi I do Angel and Gurista Extravaganca in an hour, Right hand of Zazzmatazz takes less than 10 minutes, Pirate Invasion (angel) in 23 minutes, Pirate Invasion (Sansha) in 19 minutes, Infiltrated Outpost in 25 minutes and Silence the Informant in 40 minutes.
And Enemy Abound 5/5 I do in 11 minutes
I use a faction equipped domi with 12M skillpoints. You will get faster times in a Raven if you have good skillpoints and the right setup, but HACs will be slower.

2-3 Target painters and Jav torps, and the Raven is much faster on cruiser-heavy missions too. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

I run missions in a variety of places and the best ship I've flown so far is the Eos. The Ishtar is pretty lethal for missions too with its speed and reduced sig radius.
For high security mission running I'll gravitate towards the ishtar because I'm not worried about losing it. Ishtars are expensive. For 0.0 missions I'll run in the Eos. It can definately look after itself. I can do all missions except zazzmatazz and angel extrav which I haven't quite got to the bottom of yet in the Eos. But they are reasonably rare so don't appear often. Mordu's, Sansha, Serpentis, Guristas, Mercenaries are all pish. __

I'd like to add that as a penalty for warping out, Chowdown recieved a /heal0 from the devs, and his ship promptly exploded.

I run missions in a Tempest and it books.
Ive only got 7 mil sp and most of that is in industry.
I mainly armor tank and my setup is as follows.
8x 800mm Scout 2x Heavy Diminishing NOS
2x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitors 2x Eutectic Cap Rechargers 1x Afterburner II
1x Larger Armor Repairer II 3x Hardner 2x Gyrostab II
Its a little more work than the sit and shoot raven but I fly through missions. Some missions I do need to change setup for shield tanking. Ive run several missions with my raven buddies and I find that the tempest, and most likely other battleships are just as fast as a raven... just a bit more work in most cases.

Well from what I read here a lot of people give their Ravens really ****ty setups, most commonly going totally overboard on tank and forgetting the target painters and BCUs. And of course the non-gist shield boosters are kinda sub-optimal. But if you have enough money to fit a T2 siege Raven with a GistXL/Dread invul tank, you will go through missions a LOT faster. I think most people who advertise 'their' ships here have no clue just how fast the above breezes through L4s, so have no way of knowing how slow they are going in comparison.
Of course you can do L4 missions in any battleship or HAC/Command ship. They are possibly most convenient in the insane command ship tanks. But you are far more efficient in a Raven/CNR/Rattlesnake. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

Gist X/ Officer fitted Rattlesnake pwns all..
Try a best named damage control in the extra low slot for shield resists that make command ship pilots cry.
