I wouldn't say any Massive Attack. For instance Teardrop might not fit too well.
E.S. Posthumus does good stuff (Pompeii, Tikal)
I'm also a big fan of anything Hans Zimmer (The Rock, The Peacemaker, Crimson Tide, Pirates of the Carribean [technically his student Klaus Badelt but Hans had a big part in it too], GLADIATOR, many more]
Often neglected are also the first three movements of Beethoven's Ninth. The fourth movement has the famous happy-singsong "Ode to Joy" but the first three movements are more violent and tumultuous. Think the Fifth.
For big huge Titan stuff, when you really want to convey majesty or sheer might, I am a big fan of the "O Fortuna" chorus from Orff's Carmina Burana.
Yeah I like classical music. But really I just think the fullness of an orchestra conveys power so much more effectively than anything else could.

A fabulous song, I agree!
I think 'Get Psyco' by Disturbed would be quite good in a video. Also 'Black Betty' by Soil.

Edited by: Tsavong Lah on 09/06/2006 10:34:08 The track from *.youaremighty.com (it's Schwartz Sonne, by E Nomine, but an instrumental) Inner Universe (GITS:SAC title tune) Dead Can Dance - Host of Seraphim (vocal classical, emotional stuff, very powerful) Nobuo Uematsu - One Winged Angel (Advent Children version, metal mixed with classical) Black Mages - J-E-N-O-V-A (just plain awesome tbh, boss music from FFVII with guitars) The Dust Brothers - Main Titles (Fight Club OST, hard rockish trip-hop almost) D. Dale and his Del Tones (omg it censored his name lol) - Misirlou (think "Pump It Louder" without Black Eyed Peas ftw) Tool - Parabol/Parabola (metal) Radiohead - Street Spirit (would be good to show a fleet losing for once) Primal Scream - Kill All Hippies (trippy, rockish) Philip Glass - Koyaanisqatsi (gothic, evil) Paul Van Dyk - Nothing But You (trance, would be good for showing ships off imo) Gorillaz - All Alone (kinda dancey) Hawaii 5-O themetune DJ Shadow - High Noon (fast trip hop)
Those are all I have off the top of my head.
Death is the loss of hope, everything else is merely despair.

Im surprized no one has suggested Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain. That track somehow reminds me of Dark Shikari.
Blue +yster Cult - Flaming Telepaths At the Gates - Into the dead sky In Flames - Your bedtime story is scaring everyone
I'd use "strange" tracks like those. One album I've been considering to be VERY Eve'ish is the odd "Mischief Invasion" by Fear Factory. It is not the usual Fear Factory death metal, but rather much like the deadspace music in Eve, meaning kickass electronic music. Tracks like "Snitches are a dying breed", "Put out", and "Mind Travel" may very well have been on the official soundtrack for Eve. I swear.
Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not. |

I was waiting for someone to mention this.
This song is simply... utterly awesome. As is anything by the Black Mages, of course

I think classical is a highy underused genre for vids. It's hard to pick well, but when done right nothing beats it.
I remember a vid that was a flyby of ISS Marginis that used Alina by Arvo Part---that was a fantastic example of the sort of thing I have in mind.

Especially Angel (or is it Blur? The label on my MP3 is screwed up and I am too lazy to find the CD) and Teardrop. Someone above specifically said NOT Teardrop, but it is nice during long runs. Very calming.
other songs that seem to fit for me while I play - Melotron - NGC 1006 and Sternestraub Ayria - Red Shift Stromkern - Strange Day Dawning Wolfshiem - Approching Lightspeed Covenant - Luminal and Leviathan Aesma Daeva - Darkness (Stromkern remix) Haujobb - Course (Instrumental)
and a little more ominous - Rise Again and Slave to Evil by :wumpscut

Some morbid angel might be good, at least certain bits. Perhaps some opeth. I would use some Behemoth but it would be way too heavy for most

I really like Outer Space (Spaceboost Remix) from Sonic Wanderer. It's a remix of a C64 game theme and sounds quite scifi. I can imagine it being a nice background for some kind of EVE promotion clip or trailer.

There's this thing called "the law" which stops us from doing that.
Now what people could do is clip a 30 second piece of a song, the part that sounds the coolest, and link that.
