Ok, I have seen posts on this forum by players who say they can take on 50k NPC pirates with Frigates.
Can someone tell me what frigates and set ups for those frigates are being used for this?

Ok i have killed a 50k with a frigate. A kestrel with 4 m-12 and em and devastators cruise missiles. 3 launchers with cruise, and 1 with defenders.

how much is the net profit? or we need discuss net loss?

You need some patience, long range weapons, and a way to awoid the pesky missiles.
Asteroids are really nice for hiding behind. I would do it with a rifter but there are many possibilities.

Hmmm...
The Kestrel approach sounds expensive. Lots of missiles.
I have Rifter. Would like to hear more on how to kill 50k pirates with that ship. Also, what about other high-end frigs like the Punisher? Punisher should be cheaper too (no ammo).

Firstly, to find a 50k you'll probably also find 30k-40ks in the same belt that you need to get rid of first.
I'd love to see anyone doing that in any frigate - solo 5x40k isn't easy even in a kestrel.

The trick with a kestral is you use the realtive speed of the ships to your advantage. Using keep at range the pirate ship is effectively flying towards your missile therefore you can add the speed of the cruiser to your missile speed when determining the maximum range of your missile. When you find the correct range you can kill any spawn in a kestral using heavy missiles which only cost about 400isk to make so you could really fire 125 of them before you make a loss.

I've done it with a Kestrel, you just need to stay pretty well away from the NPC's. M-12s and heavies, are my favorite.

before patch i could take 30-40k easily in an executioner w/ medium modulated beams w/ radio crystals on. that was before when missles didnt have the range they do now. i have done 20-30k only since patch in my exec. the speed and agil from the exec help but since the missles still arnt right it doesnt matter much. hope that helps.
