Hi,
I've been watching the Eve Intergalactic Bank for a while now, I've been really interested in it, but wanted to make sure they became established before I lost a lot of ISK on some scam.
It seems they've become quite reputable, and so I decided to open an account. I've applied 3 times through their website (http://theeib.com), and have let several days pass between each application. Is anyone aware of another way to apply in-game where someone acually responds?
I wanted to open a savings account, which is 500mil or more, so I assumed I wouldn't get overlooked as a "small" account. Should the lack of response be a sign that I should be wary? Is it really worth it to deposit money with them if their response time is this limited?

Regardless of the size of your deposit, it takes the same amount of time to open an account.
However, Cally (the CEO) went away at the beginning of last week on a business trip of some sort leaving 2 staff to overlook operations.
Unfortunately it seems the staff member left in charge has had some real life issues to deal with and has been unable to log in as frequently as he could. This leaves one bank employee to watch over operations and he is on sporadically at best. This obviously was an unforseen circumstance and this will be remedied once cally returns.
There is plans to employ 4 further staff at the bank, myself being one of them.
So, along with the other bank services offered, it has been somewhat an inconvenience for new account applications and current clients.
The problem is, cally is unable to log into eve at her present location mainly due to the system she uses on her travels being unable to support the eve client.
I have had the oportunity to speak to cally daily via our ventrillo server and apparently she will be back tomorrow evening (uk time) and will deal with any banking enquiries then.
If you have sent any isk to cally, or intend to, dont worry as your deposit will be logged in her journal and you will be sent confirmation upon her return.
You will of course earn interest from the date the deposit logs so as far as I can see, there isnt any issue with transfering isk to her at this time, or when she was absent.
The only inconvenience is clients being unable to withdraw isk during this time, unles they happened to be online when another staff member was.
Key EIBI personel have been given access to the banking database. Simply ask one of us in the channel to make a withdrawal and it can be dealt with by us, cally can do the paper work when she returns

I've waited I think around a week, which given the circumstaces laid out to the response to my OP, is understandable, but a month?? I think that's a bit excessive, and speaks a lot about the service level being offered...

Ive heard of 2 people who have had the same problem and the reason behind it was due to them sending the mail from their ofice which was a firewalled network of some kind (im not an expert).
Im looking through the applications list now. There are approximatley 50 or so but I cant see one from you.
The first one in the queue is from the 30th of May, so Im assuming there is a weeks backlog.
Also I cant seem to see yours either OP.
Ill run this by cally tomorrow when she is back as there maybe an error on the website preventing some applications from getting through.
Failing this you can always drop by the ingame channel THEEIB and open an account immediatley with a member of staff or wire your deposit to cally at anytime and she will send you confirmation of your acount going active once the deposit is verified.

Hello, i know it may seem as though you are getting the runaround, but to those of us who have actually invested in aacounts with The EIB, and subscribed to the mailing list, we are very happy with our accounts. i have the faith in the bank that they will get everything under control and situated. i for one understand real life issues and take into account that this game, albeit a massive life sapper, isnt everything and certain things in the world have to be taken care of. Cally, when she becomes available again will surely respond to you, for she is very responsive to my inquiries and is very keen on mailing info out to everyone on the mailing list., and so that you can rest your mind a little more, no i am not associated with teh EIB in any way other than being a satisfied customer.
Good luck with getting everything squared away, and i am sure you will get taken care of.

I agree completely with Jimmy's post above. I have quite large amounts of funds invested in both the EIB and I also hold a decent amount of shares through the company too.
I give them a thumbs up, nothing but 100% professional thus so far (oh and all dividends/interest has been paid precisely on the day it is due, if not a day early) ------------------------------------------ Dreadnought Production INC is recruiting Join DPI Channel Or Visit (IGB) http://www.mmorpg-online.net/intro.html |

Likewise, I was interested in investing in the EIB but having waited so long before getting any responses to e-mails (I still haven't received a reply to my last one, and don't really expect a response now) that I'm not trusting them with any money if I can't get in contact with them.

I've been with the bank for just over 1 month and have found them to be very polite and have dealt with my share and banking movements very professionally.
I've had no problems whatsoever as of yet and even got a nice monthly statement :)

I'll try again from home. I think it was from work originally... Anyway, I'll try to contact IG if I can remember. I usually have like a list of things I need to do. _______________________________________________ I am the devil, and I'm here to do the devils work.

Cally has been away due to RL Issues. This is a minor inconvenience for those wanting to deposit funds and open accounts, however there are other tellers in the channel who can handle withdrawals.
Cally gave notice about going away, and we get all different types of updates on our accounts, and the corp through the internal mailing lists. Your not getting a reply while Cally was 'rostered off' can not be used as a buffer to suggest that the corp isn't trustworthy. Next time you see him on, give him a convo and have a chat. You won't regret the interest ------------------------------------------ Dreadnought Production INC is recruiting Join DPI Channel Or Visit (IGB) http://www.mmorpg-online.net/intro.html |

Unfortunately it seems that your application form is broken as well. I can't use it from work because of the port 10001 requirement but from home I just get an IIS error. I've emailed my request to the support link but TBH it's a little unimpressive. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Question:
1)Has EIB the technical capacity to schedule recurrent payments?
2)What are the schedules available for reconciling credit accounts for corporate clients that have established a line of credit in good standing? Is reconciling uniform for all clients?
I should very much like to see a community using it like a deferred payment accounting system if so.

Where can I get some more information about EIB? I got 3b just sitting there doing nothing. Would be nice to put them to work.

Hopefully their current technical issues will be resolved as they do sound like a very well thought out operation. It may just be that they are swamped by demand. -- (Battle hardened miner)

A word of advice.
Only invest that 3 billion if you can afford to lose it. Although EIB look like a professional setup, always remember there is absolutely no recource for you as an invester should those that run such organizations decide to keep the isk and dissapear. Its happened numerous times before in other banks & investment corps and it'll happen again. Don't be blinded by how "good" something looks.
A wise invester only invests small to begin with - then only re-invests whatever profits he makes from that initial gamble.
Good luck

Exactly the same here, sent mail asking for some clarification of things that are badly explained on the EIB website. Had no response, invested my money (1 billion ISK) elsewhere.
