I agree.
Has anyone noticed in EVE-DB and TTI's Nexus that NPC pirates have a BP drop chance listed?
Has anyone ever actually SEEN a BP drop from a pirate, of any sort?
Pirates should drop blueprints at the listed drop percentage - Let most of these be "junk" BPs, just like most of the pirate loot is junk. But let some of those drops be rare BPs. That way ANY pirate hunter can get a rare BP if they spend enough time killing.
I also hope that L4 agents will be activated at the same time as Tech 2 is released, with Tech 2 BPs being a rare L4 mission reward.
Either that or add them to the market, but at *significantly* increased price. Market BPs aren't so bad now that unlimited copies are no longer an issue, especially if it is true that Tech II requires the manufacturer to specialize their skills as things appear from looking at the Eve-DB skill list. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Agents are the best way to go, though with a little better criteria than the implants currently have.
Want the Gallente/Minmatar Hybrid Frigate BP? Then you should have at least 6.0 corporate standing with Republic Fleet and whoever is the govt naval corp for Gallente. And at least a 4.0 standing with both the Minmatar Republic and the Gallente Empire.
With criteria like that, the opportunity is there for anyone that's put in the time to earn a chance at a blueprint. Large corp, small corp, Joe Freelancer. And the pace of distribution is controlled by those that haven't earned the chance playing catch up. Along with the prolly abysmally low chance of getting such a mission generated for you (typical developer ploy)
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann
Be careful out there. That other guy waiting in the queue for the gate MIGHT be a baby-munching frock-burner, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW!- Lallante |

Just add Miner IIs to the loot tables for some of the high end pirates and make the BPs a reward for some of the Level III agent missions.
Problem solved... IMHO we don't need the BP on the market. Make it a rare item hard to aquire or expensive to buy.

Just give each corp a BP, and make sure that there is not just 1 of each Bp, number of members and power of the corp should determine which Bp they should recive, thats my 2 cents.
Releasing only 1 bp of any item means that there will be a huge problem with the economy, and we are already seeing that with techell.

I would like to add though that i agree that auctioning ALL BPs would be a catastrophe and would be completely unfair.
However, on the flip side, giving out lots and lots of copies by no more than random chance would also be an extreme in-justice to those that have worked hard to get lots of cash.
And this is what its all about, balance of distribution, and this is most likely why we have not seen anything yet. CCP are still fine tuning the delivery mechanics and the skills.
Monopolies are required to drive the game forward, but equality is of equal importance.

But a lot of players will, as mentioned earlier, sell a valuable blueprint they come across for a wad of cash, rather than go through the hassle of production and sales. Then we have a de-facto auction anyway, just that the little guy has a chance to grab some cash in a middle stage...
