We all know the devs have a great record of telling us after the fact what the heck happened and how they fixed it.
So, what happened this time, and how did you guys fix it?

There was an issue with one of the web servers that caused a service outtage. I'm trying to find out what happened and will report back as soon as I have information.

That's a quote from one of the staff chat channels in regards to my inquiry. What was said by said the actual Staff working on the server issue, well let's just say I would not like to try to circumvent the forum filters.
More info as it comes available.

The forum server was overloaded with posts from Dark Shikari and Hippoking. We have 40 technicians and therapists trying to get them away from their computers to decrease the load on the machines.

But seriously... it was a hardware failure in one of the two webservers that handle myeve. It being in a crippled state caused the issues. It was taken down and the other machine was just unable to handle the load. It's working now and will get better as soon as ActiveAlli and Froggy finish their upgrades tonight.

Yes, the MyEVE pages were down for a rather long amount of time. Froggy, Drezi, ActiveAlli and the rest of the server crew have put in a lot of overtime to bring them back tonight. There may be a few more outtages during the course of the night as the remainder of repairs to the web server are completed.
The server guys have firmly planted responsibility for the server crash on Dark Shikari and HippoKing. When they (the server crew, not DS or HK!) have had a chance to get some rest and submit a report on what happened, I'll pass it along.

Dark Shikari and Hippoking, have you any idea what you did? I was forced to troll fansite and corp/alliance forums all day yesterday because of this. It was horrible, no ban button or anything.

Could you imagine if DS and HK were actual forum moderators?
Their power alone is immense. Combined..they would ban trolls before the posted, no thread would go off topic, Every forum title would be policed 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Nothing would slip by them. It would be like the most advanced forum filter ever created..
Oh well, the leaders of Formwhordia(their home planet) would take them back befoe that happens...
