I don't really remember my first pirating kill so I'm not sure if I felt bad or not. But I do know that sometimes when I pop someone whos very new to the game I'll give them there loot back or give them some ISK to buy a new frig with.
No wonder I get called a friendly pirate :(

I never felt bad if I killed someone, especially when pirating. There is no time to feel bad if you get good loot :P ___________________

I didn't feel bad. I offered him a ransom to save his ship, he said no, so I popped the ship and ransomed his pod at twice the original asking price. He payed up. I might have felt bad, but the guy was an argumentative fool. - - - - -
I hate pointless sigs. |

This video shows my very first pirate experience, it did not go well but the following fights did. Didn't feel bad really. Been killed enough times to squeeze that feeling from me.

My first pirating experience changed everything I thought I knew about this game. I can never do anything else, because now I know that a true MMO experience means my actions have effects that are shared with other players. When I rob and murder, it has huge effect on lone players, which in term might affect his corp and friends and alter their ways of enjoying the game. I also love knowing that killing or robbing someone will probably alter that player's view on my corp, and which will affect the game experience for my corp mates. If I ever cause my corp to be engaged in a long and fun war, I'd say I've truly achieved an MMO experience.
I don't feel bad about killing people. It is the mechanics in the game. I don't feel bad about killing 1 week old players either, even when Im pretty sure they are not alts but actually real players. If you fly around in low sec as a newbie, you WILL be killed sooner or later, there's no chance it will happen but rather a question of when. If I don't kill them first, some other guy will do it. Chances are that other guy who will kill him is an asshat that will smacktalk his victim so badly he quits the game.
Many non-pvpers usually say things like "pirates are bad, they make people leave the game". This is true in a way, but the reason it is being said is not true. If anyone leaves the game because they get podded, they were probably not gonna last long in Eve anyhow. EVERYTHING revolves around death and loss in Eve, and if you can't take it you're up for a world of disappointments in Eve. Anyone who leaves Eve because they get podded while they are newbies are most likely not people that would play Eve for more than a month or two anyhow, and even then the game would not do them any good and they might in fact regret playing for that long to begin with.
Therefore, Im never afraid of upsetting people by killing them. I just avoid personal vocal abuse, because that is not part of the game.
Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not. |

First kill in Eve was in my rupture when a guy in an interceptor stole from me. Two months later im in their corp working my way down in sec rating.
Every time I track someone down in a belt I get a warm feeling, which only goes away when I realize they have crap loot.
And then the urge to kill again rises. :)

Yes, I assume he spent every Isk he had on fitting that ship. :P
And didn't insure it.

First PvP kill was only the other day in 0.0. Most fun I've ever had in eve! Was me in a caracal against a vexor. I JUST won (only had 137 structure HP left). Didnt feel at all bad because it had been so close...and also because of the few mil I made from his tech 2 loot :)

My first PvP kill was 3 days ago while ratting/ganking in low sec with a friend, both of us in Feroxs loaded for PvP killing easy rats.
Somewhere along my third belt, in jumps an enyo who scrams and webs me. So I scram web and 3x medium nos him back. Took him to armor before my friend warped in and the enyo went pop in under a minute.
Wasn't much smack in the coms I opened with him requesting ransom. Just a lot of swearing on his part. Oh well. Join channel: "Eve University" or http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=332962read here[/ |

I ganged some dude then warped us to a belt and while I was killing him 2 other pirates warped in and helped me kill him. So I popped them both. Damn kill stealers. Sig dimensions must be no more than 400W x 120H - Cathath () |

I had my first 2 succesfull victims last Sarturday, I just act civil and dont smack. Attemp to ransom and give them tips on how to be better. First one was a Tristan that wouldn't stop shootin so I had to blow his ship up. second one was a Stabber who did stop shooting but couldnt pay ransom cause Trail account dont let you. made him empty can and let him go. he had nice loot! That would have been destroyed if all I wanted was a kill mail
I was in a rifter and no I didnt feel bad after. I felt quite good. is before I gank that I feel a little bad. but I get over it.
I actually had a good time talking to both while I sat on my SS waiting out my timer Under construction |
