I was wondering, how many people, after their first pirating experienced felt bad/paid the guy back/apoligized? ------------------------------

Nope. I asked for 1/4th base price of ship, no money came, so boom. Don't pirate if you're gonna feel bad about it.

Killed my first player ship three days ago where I was the aggressor.
I had just finished a mission and was bouncing the belts looking for rats in a almost empty low sec system.
Suddenly a cruiser warpped in almost on top of my Ferox. I had no WCS, so I immediately targetted and prepared to fight.
Once locked I saw that the target - whose pilot was -7.6 sec - had no armour and was repairing/recharging its shields. Why the guy warped to a belt I'll never know, but without a thought I hit F1 to F7, set a ramming course and released the drones.
The guy tried to align but he popped before I even reached him. I also had no scram fitted so the pop went on its way while I collected the loot.
Why did I do it? Because I could. Did I feel guilt? Strangely no. Was I justified? Who cares. Does this make me L33T? No.

Edited by: Shandling on 08/06/2006 09:13:02 Once, I ran into a Scythe that was mining. Had him at 50% structure, turned off guns, convo'd him and feeling generous, said (friendly-like) "1 mil and I'll leave ya". He replied "I don't have that kind of money!"
*pop*
Looted a decent pile of t2 stuff... strange setup, including his single 650mm II. :P So I thought he was just being prideful and wouldn't pay.
Two days later I saw him mining in a Reaper. (The Minnie starter ship) I almost, almost, almost felt bad... but then I just started laughing. :P
Whoops, that was a story.

I dont feel sorry because usually your victim is planning to get you back in some far crueler way, or they send you a hate mail regarding the death of your family.....

It wasn't actual piracy, more like my first kill. Was shaking and all and the guy went boom. Felt a bit bad but forgot about fast enough. Second kill went easy.
I gave a guy ISK once, I was in a maller rattin for a bit of isk and items to refine and such... and a 5days old pilot in a ... mimatar.... how the heck is this one called ?, ah yes, slasher. jumped me crazy... he got nosed, webbed, scr and killed. The reason I gave him a few *** is for his atitude towards the game and how to have fun. Was also a nice civilised chat in local.

He promptly woke up in a vat of goo somewhere far, far away.

I had just spent an evening discussing rupture pvp setups with someone from my corp.
Next morning i wake up and log on to eve and behold, a stranger ratting in a thorax in my home system.
Scanned him down, warped to the belt and engaged him, was a great fight and i ended on 10% armor when his thorax went pop. Had a ncie chat in local with him afterwards, no smack at all.
I never regretted it one bit, just wanted more. Been hooked on pvp since.

My very first kill, I did offer to replace the ship, because I shot the wrong person and got Concorded
My first kill in low-sec piracy, I think he was afk in a belt and being attacked by rats. So all I really did was speed things along and tidy up the loot after. ---------------------------

My first kill was against a War Target, I had just joined the corp and undocked to find a crow docking at the same station,
Well AFK when at war was a dumb Idea so I dont feel bad that my icle Caracal sent him and his Pod the quick way home :)

My first kill was a war target. A bestower AFK-jumping through hi-sec, while I chased him down in an enyo. Easy kill, easy pod, made me quite happy.
My first actual fighting combat kill was more recent. Jumping through belts and a blackbird came after me in my vexor. He scrambled me, and I set my drones on him. Then he had a buddy in a Domi warp in, nos/scram/jam me as well. I still lasted long enough to get the kill of the blackbird before the domi popped me. I was perfectly satisfied to get just one kill when I was jumped by superior forces. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the oth |

If its a good, fair fight, more power to them, and I wish them good luck in the future. If they try every way to be cheap/not pay the ransom, screw them, no pity from me.
I do feel bad however, when I blow up someone who is new, running around in lowsec ratting where they shouldnt be. That happened two days back in Amamake, I found a probe in a belt (me in my trusty disposable merlin) and destroyed him. I then learned he was a 2 day old character so I let his pod go. I EVEmailed him saying sorry, I didnt know you were such a new player (he wasnt an alt, as I guessed) and to drop me a line if he ever needed some PvP advice. I felt bad.

My first was "defending the system which we controlled" (we jus popped anyone who went in the belts) it was myself, Brennos and Kae'lan, and we scrammed an ransomed. Most people paid back then, and I was happy as hell. No guilt

It wasn't my first kill, but it was when I was just starting piracy, I popped an Ibis (or Bantam, I don't remember) mining in low sec which had a Civilian Mining Laser fitted (or whatever it's called). After podding him I checked to see how old he was - "Less than a day", it made me feel bad for about 5 minutes, I did nothing about it though. ---

My first kill was a Merlin and it was a 10 day old player who wasn't even able to navigate properly yet. He cried and shouted as if i had killed his whole family and i felt bad and paid him a new ship =(
The second kill was a Gistii fitted harpy that i took down together with a friend and it was awsome and then i was rich =P Total loot about 120 million ISK. ----------------------------------------
I am not an alt i am just young!(and hot) |

You taught him a valuable lesson about the meaning of low-sec. My first kill was a similar idiot in an Imicus.

i know after my first the girlyness in me raised its ugly head. I was forced via peer pressure i swear it! my first was a pod held down and scrambled by fellow corp mates for me to lose my podding virginity on. TBH, i never looked back from that point!
