I currently solo due to teh fact that I haven't come across any corps that fit my interest. I spend a lot of time hauling ore or mining out of wherever I like so I typically run across very few people most times. Those that I do are rather quiet like myself, or are busy with something else.
I do however enjoy ganging with like minded players ad sharing the spoils of our work. In time when my skills are of a higher grade and I can offer more to a corp than a newbie I will most definetly pledge up and spend my time aiding fellow corp mates!

It depends on oneÆs definition of solo play but taking the view of ônot normally doing things with other playersö, rather than the ôignore everyone and play as if it was a single player gameöà
The alliance logo emblazoned in my sig not withstanding I am largely a solo player. It is a great rarity for me to do anything with anyone despite only having been in npc corps for no more than 2 weeks in total since I started. I have a lot of interaction with other players but largely via the market, escrow, chat etc rather than doing anything such as missions, ratting, mining, fighting et al.

Soloing is the most fun Ive had in Eve. Mainly flew a vagabond but with a single point of scram on there it begins to irritate at not being able to hold targets down and bumping a ship to stop it from warping isnt something I have down to a T just yet.
So mainly the solo'er adapts to small gangs. Preferably a tackler, jammer and ganker with the way pvp is currently though I expect this too change with kali 1 and then again the next time a content patch is introduced.
Till then you can be my best bud by flying an Arazu with scan probes to find gate loggers.

I (old Character) solo and so do most of my friends.
I enjoy the Freedom of doing whatever I want when I want. I also have very strange login times due to work. I travel a lot so I am seldom in the same timezone as the Corps I wanted to join.
Also I am building a character and he must stand by himself. I want to be in Charge of my own destiny. I have no problem joining a few friends in a Corp that acts as a focal point for a group of Solo players.
I do like the idea of Solo people helping each other out.

I have no RL friends so I am used to being alone. I am in a corp but they are usually doing their thing while I do mine.

"If" you solo? I'm not sure what that even means. Depending on someone else to be online to have fun is not my idea of money well spent. I would say I am "solo" 99% of the time I play eve simply because it's not safe in low sec without other people around and having to depend on that factor makes you incredibly weak in playability, and in high sec what's the point because everything is easy enough to do alone and more profitable...

ahahaha nice necro there, <3 relevant necros tho.
i end up soloing most of the time and like it, but logistics can be a nightmare, nothing like finding out your 7 jumps from the nearest cagro expander I in empire...

I solo play. Not sure why though.
Think part of it is my old group all went seperate ways, and I decided to try things out solo. Just haven't taken the time or effort to find another group. Also don't like having to rely on others, I know that life would be much easier if I was teaming up with folks, but that is half the fun for me.
I also tend to be mildly anti-social (I am sitting in front of a computer playing games with the blinds closed.....), and apparently my humour crosses the line a lot. Takes me around a month or so to settle in and start talking, but once I do, I'm told I can be a little......hmmm.....offensive.
Eve is just one of those games that really does what it says on the box, you can literally do anything you want. There is no point that you are "forced" into a group in order to progress to the next "level-up".
All-in-all, I can't really think of a good reason not to join a corp, but I haven't had a good enough reason to join one either.
Maybe I'll get my combat char in one, but that's further down the road.

In our corp we can do what we like.....ofcourse there is some rules.
But none forces you to do what you dont want to do... We do stuff solo when we want to do that and get togheter when we feel for that....
I like it this way :)
I think there is many corps like that out there....just you been unlucky with the once you been in..

my first six months in eve were pretty much solo .
i got plenty of invites to corps but always turned them down .
Eventually i accepted one and of i went on many a crazy adventure . my eve career has taken me to just about every corner of eve there is . so im glad i have gotten into the more alliance end of it and the access to 0.0 is sweet .
but then again sometimes alliance business/politics is really boring and i think " i should just go mission whoring for a while and build my ship collection up some more and finally sort my faction loot hangar "
but i think team play is more interesting

I solo since my corp likes to hunt war targets in highsec and im trapped in low sec (they pvp with me sometimes though)
Also less run away factor if just one person enters a system in a pirate corp

Group player here.
If you find a good corp, it's awesome.
If its a crappy corp, then yeah I'd rather solo.
