OK, so I got my kill rights on two gankers, and I want to hunt them down for 29 days.
I used a locator agent, he emailed me, went there in a war ship I waited for them they got out and warped before I could do anything.
Went back home, took a cloaked frigate, went to their new location and waited cloaked to see what they are up to... but they went offline.
I am totally new to this but willing to learn and do my revenge. What ship I need to buy for this?
I think they were two Catalysts, did not think I was scrambled or webified when they yanked my Retriever. I am willing to spend lots of ISK to hunt them down.
Can somebody give me some hints on how to start, how to do it? Maybe even find warriors to help me? Are others allowed to kill on my kill rights if in a fleet?
Thanks.

I can fly any T1 caldari Frigate-Battleship and soon some T2. I only have T2 industrials and covert ops for now, no warships.
But i am willing to learn and spend ISK to hunt this guys down.

Make it available for everyone for a price. That way people unaffiliated to you can aggress them in their carebear ships if they live in highsec. |

Go to your character sheet and go to the killrights tab. You'll see your killrights to said ganker. On the right side there's 3 rectanles that from a square, click it. Now choose the option "set killright for everyone". Pick a modest price. Now if someone sees them in local they can activate your killright to shoot them without getting CONCORDDOKKEN. |

There's a little button in the killright menu to make it available to others.
Note that if the people who you have killrights on are below -5.0 security status, anyone can already attack them at anytime anyway. The killright won't do anything, but you might be able to fish a small amount of money out of it. www.minerbumping.com |

Revenge is fine motivation for violence. Unfortunately with this one you need some patience. Once you activate your killrights, you have 15 minute window to destroy your target. I would not try this under station as your target can simply dock as long as he does not fire back. You need to catch him somewhere where he cannot run into safety right away.
You could have 1 cloacked buddy keeping track on them and waiting till they are in vulnurable position. Your buddy sneaks close, Decloacks and scrambles the moment you land on the grid with heavy DPS vessel. You blast the targets to hell and be happy.
Presuming they are gankers by profession and fly Catalysts all the time, you should be able to one shot them with ships like.. say.. Tornado. To make sure of it, you can overheat weapons to have little extra damage. Remember to activate killrights before you fire. |

DONE!
2000 ISK. I hope this is what somebody needs to pay to activate the kill right. I have no clue how this works. So they have 15 mins, then this kill right is over and done with?

Now this is what I want to learn.
1. How you activate kill rights? I cannot just shoot them on sight? 2. I don't have a buddy yet... :( I need to learn how to track them and when they are vulnerable...
Tornado? I trained Caldari and missile specialization. I have a few Drakes, Navy Drakes and so on. About 20 warships of all kinds, almost exclusively Caldari. Osprey, Cormorant, Hookbill, Navy issues... You name it. If they can blew up my 40 mil ISK peaceful miner I can blew up too 4 PLEX to get revenge.
3. Do I need some kind of scrambler or webifier to keep them put?
4. Do I need to scan them with probes after got out of a station and flew away? How do I follow them? How do I know where they went?
Sorry for all these questions... So far I've been lvl3 missoning in EVE, manufacturing, research and sometimes mining. I never thought I will PvP. Now these two guys made it for me.... I need to see them killed.
5. How many times can I kill them with these kill rights?
6. What tank do I need? Thermal? Omni? etc...
Sorry for so many questions...
7. How do I find a buddy or two willing to give a hand somehow? |

Make sure to not make the killright-price too low. If it is, a buddy or alt of the target will activate the killright, pay the tiny fee and kill the target while he's in a rookie ship. In your case, that'd allow the two gankers you're chasing to clear themselves of your killright for just 2000 isk each.
As was mentioned before, look up the security status of the targets. If it's below -5, they can be freely attacked anyway and the whole killright is pointless. |

No, no, do not do this.
As a regular ganker I can tell you all I will do upon seeing that, is pay for it myself and clear it off.
Your best bet is to not set a price, and leave it available only to you. Then, you get some friends and go hunting. When you find him, you can activate the KR and then he goes suspect, leaving him vulnerable to attack from anyone.
Quote:So, once I know what station they are into, how to I follow/track them once they are out? Are there any tips and tricks? It's going to depend on what they are doing. Are they just running around in catalysts? Then it's best to follow them, see where they are trying to gank, and kill them when attempting it. This will mess up their gank and cost them their ships, for the best return on your KR.
If they're only occasional gankers, wait until they are running a mission and kill them when they are running it. You will want to look up a guide to ganking mission runners, and just ignore the parts where it tells you how to trick people into aggressing, because the KR handles that part.
Option 3 is you find a specific person / corp to make the KR available to. Ask any highsec wardec group, they will likely be interested. "Do not touch anything unnecessarily. It has been said several times, but first confirm if their sec status is below -5. Many gankers do not bother to repair their sec status, which makes killrights irrelevant.
If you do need to activate a killright, you do it through the selected item window when you are close to them in space. This gives them a suspect flag which makes them attackable by anyone.
As for the best way to go about hunting and killing them, it depends entirely on who they are and how they operate. We need more information to help you there. www.everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com

What is high sec warded group and how do I get in touch with them?
For now, I equipped an Ospey Navy Issue and tracked them down in a 0.4 system. I am waiting for an hour 100km from that station and scanning with probes cloaked but so far nothing.
How do I follow them? I mean I see them on the grid and they warp out, how to I know where to warp out myself?
From the number of kills on the balleinc billboard they have exactly two kills each. And low security stats and wanted both.
I am waiting....
No ships... I will probably get some sleep then return to my locator agent and start again...
I keep getting a ghost ship on d-scan. I see it then when I get down the range it moved... |

You're better off ignoring them. Looks like they're full time gankers. The only time you'll see them in space is if they're in a gank OP and/or in low/null/wh space. Unless you can sync your time to their ganking ops you won't catch them anytime soon.

Since they are blinky they can't operate on their own in highsec. Try to figure out who their cover ops alt is. That's the one you want to follow to learn where they want to strike next. Get a Blackbird with 2 sensor boosters and 4 gallente jammers. Just follow them around into belts and jam them before they can open fire on their gank targets. Killing them is neither needed nor helpful. If they did care about losing their ships, they wouldn't let CONCORD touch them. Make their live hard. As suicide gankers they are not used to that. After a while offer them to be left alone for a price. If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain. |

Right now there is not much you can do alone. Unless you really wish to dedicate yourself for the cause of making their living miserable, not caring how long you have to follow them and study their patterns. Best you can do right now is just to have new mining ship, and ensure it is more tankier than previous one. I dont mine often.. but when I do it is procurer. Cheapest barge in game and tanky enough to turn off most of the high sec gankers. |

The cloak ensures that your lock on times will be on par with your average Catholic mass, mixing buffer and active tank is usually a poor idea, and 4 cpu mods/rigs? "Help, I'm bored with missions!"

That's what happens when you try to fit an expanded launcher on just anything. OP, either learn to live without combat probes or use a separate ship for your cloaking/scanning. Trying to fit these modules on a combat ship will cripple its combat ability.
It seems you have a lot to learn about combat. I would recommend you google for some basic pvp guides. I would also recommend starting in something cheaper. If the loss of your mining barge was that upsetting, you won't be pleased when you inevitably lose the Navy Osprey (we all lose ships). www.ensignyooch.wordpress.com

Well, as I said... I read and learned a lot about manufacturing, missioning level 3, research, invention, anything but PvP... I was making ISK through all this and mining alone... I have a a Procurer and a Retriever to do some mining when I need some quick cash for other operations, but never thought I'd be going into PvP...
But these guys thought me all that is for nothing when two 1 mil ships can blow you out of the sky and you have no defence... So now I need to rethink everything.

No, actually, there are defenses - you just didn't avail yourself of said defenses.
Trying to blow up people who give absolutely zero ***** about blowing up is probably the least viable response conceivable.

To activate a killright you need to select their ship and on the select item overview an icon allows you to activate the killright.
If you set the killright available to all then they can easily end the killright by using a noobship and an alt.
Gankers are often below -5 sec status and they are freely attackable anyway.
As they are below -5 the faction police (not concord) chase them around the system and will kill them if they catch them. To get around this gankers create instant undock bookmarks for the stations they operate out of. these are a point in line with the direction you undock from and then about 1000km out. This is why you can't catch them at the undock.
The best ship to catch them in is a griffin (ecm frig) or a catalyst. Find what system they are in and then goto a belt and make a bookmark right on top of a miner you think they will gank. Then fly about 500km away so you are offgrid and aim your directional scanner at the belt and keep scanning. When you see catalysts on scan then warp in, lock them up and shoot. They will already be agressed so you won't need the killright. You will 100% kill them as concord will be coming to kill them anyway. You may lose your ship as they may turn their guns on you. The miner will probably die anyway so don't even set that as your goal. The gankers won't care that their cheap destroy died as losing it is 100% guaranteed when you gank. Make friends with them afterwards as they are more fun and better people than your fellow miners (who are afk anyway).
Hope this helps. Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85 |
