I know nothing is final right now but there has to be some things that are definate about these new ships, such as what role they are going to fill (fleet battles, npc'r, mission runner etc). I know that CCP doesn't like to respond in these threads because it contaminates them but in the next dev blog can we have a twinkle of information on the Tier 3 BS's. Like the role they will fill, skill requirements, etc. I know we won't get stuff like pg/cpu, slot layout, bonuses because I'm SURE that's no where near finalized, but it would be nice to know where they are headed in terms of use and ability.

Since they're tier 3 and all, I think it's safe to say that as far as skills go they'll require the racial battleship skill at level 3.

Yup, second tier one gives more options and less risk of obsoleting and overpowering.
Although... Amarr drone ship? No. Free shotgun blasts for anyone suggesting it.

Adding tier3 BSs thats better than the other two would ruin the balance even more.

The most powerful/annoying battleship currently in play is a tier 1 BS that doesn't fit any guns. I don't think it is likely the tier 3 BS's will unbalance things. =P
