hello im a newb to all this moon mining stuff but giving it agocouple of Questions to ask?
1) when scanning for a moon using a probe what do you choose from the list of things is it e.g. theres the ships then the one that starts with C is it that one?
2) if it is when i scan using that nothing ever comes up at everymood/planet, so how do i know which moons are what?

i have found how to do it easier way on how to find it anyhow what i need to know is tranquility exactly mirrord to the test server even moon minerals etc.?

You can test the method out on sisi. but the moons are all different.
By the way you shouldnt have to select anything to scan a moon.
Make sure you are using the moon scan probes adn all you have to do is line up with the moon (double click on it in space till you are moving toward it) and launch 1 moon survey probe. Watch it for a little bit to make sure it is going straight for the moon then you just have to wait for results to come in on their own...
you will get a popup menu if the moon has nothing harvestable.

ok so its no good trying to find moon minerals on test server for tranqulity pos moon mining?
Also on the test server ive put up a full fnctional pos its all on line got a moon harvester and a silo but its not mining anything anyone know why( there is minerals on the moon)

Ok first thing to do is check the production menu.
At the very top above your harveters and silos there should be at least one type of moon mineral. Ifnot you can't mine that moon. If you selected the type of thing to mine and inlined your harvester I'll assume this moon isn't empty.
Next select the same mineral for your silo or coupling array before you online it.
Once its online you have to connect them. to do this you drag the ouput box on the right of the harvester (lets assume its atmosphereic gases) well trag the atm gas icon from the right of the harvester to the left of your silo and drop it on its atm. gas icon. when you do this the color should change to show they are linked and a little red text will appear that says something like "connecting-online" apply the changes and wait
It takes up to 2 hours sometimes before you get your first 100 moon material

OK, follow these steps:
Make sure everything is anchored but not onlined. Right click on the moon harvesting array, select Change Harvested Material , then pick the mineral you wish to mine. After this right click on your silo, click change silo type, go to moon minerals and pick whatever it is the ahrvester is mining. Then online them both. Once you've finished doing that drag the icon just to the right of the moon miner in your POS management screen, production tab to the icon just to the left of the silo to link the two. Click apply and then sit back and wait until that hour has passed, then enjoy 100 units of whatever it is your mining :)
