has anyone noticed that to use the caldari dreadnaught torp launchers you only need missle launcher operation lvl1 and to use the Gallente dreadnaught rails you need a HUGE list of skills and Large hybrid turrets lvl5... this dont make much sense to me TBH.. any thoughts???

how is it unfair? the skills to fire a citadel torpedo are the same as the skill to fire a xlarge turret actually
the skills required as tied to the MISSILES not the LAUNCHER go look at them and you will see the skill reqs are virtually the same ------

unfair is the phoenix only having one launcher type, while the other dreads have 2 turret types each

You're just jealous that Caldari dread pilots can fire defenders out of their citadel launchers with minimal skills.

Torp V is a useful skill to have even for tempest pilots. When I managed to squeeze 6t2 1400's and 2 t2 seige on my tempest, I was happy. T2 cruise would probably be more useful though.
The rewards for having high gunnery and missle skils in minmater ships are very nice, but it still sucks having to train that much to get the full power of your ship. I'm not going to complain too much though, at least I'm not Amarr. Amarr just get to train gunnery. And then they are forever limited in what they can do.

It's not like you can just stick some light missiles in a citadel launcher.

Moro's only has one weapon system as well. XL Blasters don't hit POS's, which is more or less the whole point of a dread.
Ok technically two systems, but only one working one... same thing really.

So use rails, the Moros' bonus works just as well with them.

his point was that there is no need for a "look we dont have XL cruise" whine because i.e. gall have a useless gun.
As for the skill requirements, they are abit hefty for the nag, assuming all other races benefit from the fact they base on their main weaponsystem, rails - lasers - torpedos, while minmatar has to train up 2 mainweaponsystems. Torpedos as handy as they are arent too high on the average minmatar training list. However in return you get a very strong dread so cant really complain.

You say that as if a Moros's drones don't just *****anything they come in contact with.
Who cares if your blasters' don't 'work'. You have one weapon system that lets you kill anything smaller than you in seconds. I can only imagine how fubar'd things would be if a Moros's bonuses affected fighters assigned to them.

ya well warhead upgrades is rank 5 and surgical strike is rank 4!
not pre-reqs but still.. it evens out.

Missiles might not have intensive prerequisites but to make them useful you need all the missile skills just like turrets need all the gunnery skills. Laser Turret 5 is a hell of a lot more useful skill than citadel torpedo's as well...
