Edited by: Ziva Daria on 10/06/2006 17:08:04 IThe Punisher Size: 180 MB Running Time: 14:28 (loads of fights) Resolution: 1280x768 HighQuality Date Originally Compiled: 8th June 2006
Music Used: I dont know pls tell me Tunes probably a bit overused but I like them anyway :P It took me ages to find a setting that kept the file size reasonable, especially with this resolution and length so audio has been downsampled to 22kHz, appologies to audiophiles everywhere.

My Story: I always thought there was more to evelife than mining, market trading yada yada. I started a little over 6 months ago, I can fly barge, I can fly transporter but I truely got little satisfaction from it. Then one day I found this vid-forum and my perceptions changed.
I now can see the excitement that the "pirate" sees when he plays. I wanted to feel this for myself, so after watching loads of evemovies, (and consequently the sources of the soundtrack) and reading the ship setups forum I decided to go with amarr (Gunnery 5 4tw) and the punisher. So I created a new main character. Here are my stories. At the start of the movie my new main is 3 weeks old, and with 800K SP. Up to 5weeks old with 1.2Mill SP in last fight.
Special thanks to Chribba for his fantastic eve-files service.
Notible influences:
Sha Xian (punisher, woot), Eyeshadow, dabster, Wizie, Osiris Occido, Farjung (I want your blaster babies) , MellaRinn (omg that ishkur), Ugluuk (fighting against the odds). There are many more but those stick in my mind.
Edit: fleshed out my story a little

Oops, its standard WM9 with mp3 soundtrack. It is in a AVI container file. Couldnt find the option in Adobe premiere for wmv file output. It should play on a default XP install. Thats why I checked it a few times. *Fingers crossed*

Ok, I am fully up-to-date on every WMV codec and it will not play, tried Windows media player, realplayer, creative media and have even tried opening it in Adobe Premiere 1.5.1, Sony Vegas 6.0d, Windows Movie Maker v2, Adobe After effects 6.5.1 and some freeware tools - none of them will open it - the best I can get is the sound, but a blank screen.
Sorry, but I have now deleted your vid.

Great movie! It's Caracal season I see.
Plus for doing a t1 frigate vs various of "better" ships and plus for also showing the times you lost.

Alleykat, I reccomend you (and others too!) download the vlc media player. It's located at
www.videolan.org
comes bundled with pretty much every codec under the sun and plays DVDs from your drive too. I've downloaded over a hundred eve videos and it's managed every one of them. The only downside to it is that it doesn't have a playlist.

p.s. It's an opensource vid and therefore free
p.p.s. Nice vid ziva, keep up the good work!
You could possibly have done with a caracal kill counter in the top corner of the screen as I lost count after about 5.
It's good to see people putting losses in vids as well and nice to see your learning curve replacing 2 webbers and scrambler with 2 scramblers and webber on the cruiser.
Also good to see somebody having a go at claiming their killrights. The guy appeared neutral in your overview and you still recognised him as a valid target and engaged. He seemed to be going 280 odd m/s. How long did it take you to recognise him and engage? If you'd have got there earlier, you'd have easily got him with that damage output. Although he was clearly running for the gate to jump and thus didn't return fire. A destroyer though weak in defence can still put out a fair amout of damage.
Enjoyed the engagement on the punisher and tristan. Good to see you win when outnumbered though that tristan went down fast. Perhaps a noob?
The only thing I would say about frigate videos is that it's often nice to speed them up a little. Cruisers can take rather a long time to go down and unless you do a lot of changing tactics and multitasking this can get repetative.
Yea, I actually didnt know how many caracals I engaged until I put that movie together. I think it was 3 wins and 2 losses to caracals. Not all carcals are the same, and it help having npc'ed dishing out some damage too.
Part of that was learning curve, but my electronics are still very low and I had CPU issues fitting 2 scramblers in the first maller shot. In the second maller shot I had a named scrambler fitted which allowed that fit. For all the good it did me. :) lol
That killrights scene. Well they were a fairly agressive corp, I checked out the belts in that system earlier that day and the whole corp shot at me. Maybe because I was yellow . I warped to the gate and some of them followed me, I scrambled a thorax that came out of warp, he was agressed so sentries took him out quick. Then a Dominix, a vexor, a harpy and two moas appeared all trying to kill me. I warped out in 20% structure, and they warped out, I came back to the gate, and the Dominix came back, the vexor and a harpy. I tried to scramble the Dominix and let the sentries take it out but I died before he died. Then that harpy podded me at the gate so I am not sure if the sentries got him.
When I came back for some fun, I spotted him too late and I think he was 15 from the gate, I engaged but I complete forgot that he could jump, thinking that he would stay and fight. It was a nice shot though, with 3 interceptors orbiting me, and they couldn't do a thing.
All fights were speeded up at least 2x, and in scenes I thought were still a bit slow were speeded up 3x. It was a balance between seeing the fight take place and enjoying it, or being bored as slowly took out the target. I hope I got it somewhere right.

I think his problem is that the download was corrupt. The video is fine.

Great quality and a pretty nice summary of what you've been up to lately. I see there are a lot of TSDS encounters (well, since you are in our backyards basically : ) was cool to see some of those fights from the other side. Keep up the great work, we'll be seeing ya around.

Lol, hi Sha Xian.
Thanks for your comments, and yea the Critic popping up was kinda cool, I think Kilrock was the inspiration for me using him in the video. "Lol @ that setup" comments etc. The fight with Johnny, well I thought I would give it a go anyway .. damn drones :)
