I understand the change to the Moa, but the current Gila model makes little sense. It's a droneboat, not an attack cruiser - why would it be shaped anything like it is?
Even lore-wise, the Gila being based off the Moa's 'old' hull would make more sense. You'd even have another 'unique' pirate cruiser (+í la Sansha and Angels) instead of a reskin. |

I liked the old Moa look in general. Wish they would have kept the old moa for the moa alone, given the new skin to all the t2/factional variants, but that's a good idea too. Just polish the old skin, make MINOR improvements, and give it to the Gila. |

To hell with the old Moa hull design. New design looks great. Lovin the folding wings animation entering and exiting warp.
As far as the Gila, yeah it doesnt resemble a Gila at all unless in EVE's future timline, Gilas now have wings. |

Did someone say they liked an older model better than the new one? There's an app for that.
And in answer to your opening question, YES.
My Gila vomits venom on itself daily in self hatred because it was never meant to be a peace dove. If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request. |

HELL no.
The new Moa class hull is a work of art in comparison to the old one. I might actually fly the ships involved now that I can do with a fleeting bit of self respect while doing so. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

The old model looked like the product of generations of inbreeding. Now I'm excited flying anything with that hull, esp the Onyx.

Are you at all familiar with the term "makes your eyes bleed" ?
It was a horrible piece of art, even for an asymmetrical design and asymmetrical can be quite cool if done right.

I think the Gila would look much more badass if they lopped off the nose, and maybe doubled up the wings and put the thrusters on the ends of them. Something like this: Photoshopped Gila

To be fair, the Jaguar Assault frigate looks nothing like a Jaguar, same with all ships that are named after living things Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button. |

Because nothing is more worthless in space than wings so why not double them?

To me it looks like four winged headless chicken. I prefer the new Moa model for Gila. As my old maths teacher used to say: "Statistics are like bikinis: It's what they don't show that's interesting". -CCP Aporia |

This thread is attracting a lot of people that liked the old Moa. In reality they make up 2% of the population. The 2% that put those tiny chrome wheels on their honda civic and think it looks good. It was ugly. new better!

Fixed a couple typos you made there, Foxstar.

Yes, we do like the way it looked before more than now. The new look is too generic, and doesn't suit the actual role of the ship. It's just like if they made all the exhumers look like thoraxs, a poor design choice. |

To be honest, I don't like the new Moa. It doesn't look Caldari enough.
That said, I think I hate the fact that people call the Gila, "Hila" more. It's a G, not an H. |

I agree completely. Symmetry is beauty. It's about time CCP started nuking all of the ugly asymmetrical piles of junk and replacing them with beautiful, sexy symmetry. I can't wait for other Caldari ships like the Blackbird, Osprey, Bantam, Griffin etc. to be remodeled into the design aesthetic of the new Moa.
edit: If you like how the old Moa looks, that's fine and all. You're entitled to an opinion. I just don't see why anyone would like it. |

There can be beauty in asymmetry, such as the new Manticore, and the new Moa isn't completely symmetrical, either. But, asymmetry for the sake of asymmetry is ugly, which is what many of the original Caldari designs are.
