Hey... i was thinking about going into the Trading Business... but its confusing really... the ship with the biggest cargo that i can use atm is the Badger II :S
Can it be true that the next step is the Charon? it seems really unlikely... the badger II costs like 600k while the Charon costs 900m... isn't it a WAYYYY too big leap? or is it just me... please explain how its possible to start an effective trading career..
Thx in advance ;) give me ur oppinions...

You don't even need an industrial to trade, as the most profitable items can be moved in a bantam... but yes there is no real intermediate ship.

First thing you'd want to look into is how to trade the most, make the most, and move the least.
The best trading is done within the confines of a single station. Altho that excludes NPC goods, but those are going to becoming boring to you at some point anyway.

Warning:
Beware Suicide Pirates.
Suicide Pirates kill ships like Badger IIs in secure, 0.5+ security space. The suicide Pirate's ship is lost to concord, but he has a friend there to loot your can.
If your cargo is not too expensive, and you plan to haul a lot, you NEED to learn to fly an Iteron V. Nothing else compares. Only the Iteron V combines the virtues of Cheap Ship Cost, and Big Cargo.
If you plan on carrying high value Cargo, the Bustard is great for use in 0.5+ security space. Put on a shield booster and an EM shield hardener. It is tough enough that it is very rare for suicide gankers to even try and kill one. The Bustard tanks BETTER than ANY other Transport "when using cargo expanders". Bustards are also much cheaper than Occators and Impels.

Also the trading skills that allow you to sell and buy over region without leaving the station. You buy it from the other side of the region, it's magically in your hangar.
I forget the names of the skill's though, and what level you need them at for them to be effective...
