Well I'm signing off, I came back for one last fleet battle which was fun then I ctd'ed and came in with statless ship if you dont believe me i couldnt give a rats, and am stuck with it in emrayur - but was fun fight till then :P
Both my accs are canned and I prolly wont ebay anything off of them and contrary to popular rumour I never have as I think its quite lame tbh.
Game was good but has slowly gone to ****, the final 2 straws were:
1)Finally getting podded (omg took your lamers long enough lol)
2)The whole 10 page thread about me being emperor, how can they claim to have any storyline going when a total ******* like me can garner such support to change it?
Anyway thats about it...
Greets to RUS, SIN (sup jimmeh sorry I lost your cruise missiles :( ), evol who I respect even though they take the game WAY WAY to seriously, TomB for being one of the best devs I have seen and one of the reasons I kept this up as long as I have and thats bout it.
In short I shoulda quit when my corp did, but I foolishly thought the game might change...

It is sad you're leaving, since you were a celebrity in EVE for the lack of the storyline, and if you got podded due to a CTD that's lame, what can I say.

Well, while you were (are) one of the most hated and reviled characters around, I gotta say, it'll be a shame to see you leave.
Your posts were always a good laugh, your presence in the game was sure a source of (often painful) entertainment, and it's always regrettable to see good players leave because of the inadequecies of the game.
While it won't mean much to most of you, my putting-up-with-crap-o-meter is getting pretty full myself.

Man I couldnt help than noticing this thread is nearing the Titan thread in views.
What a better msg to CCP to show them that players ARE the content, if you keep them unhappy and they leave, their game is dead. Dont ppl think that are already so many games out there that while they still have playerbase they re actually DEAD! Games which some ppl ussualy take for comparison to show that EVE has not gone too down yet! I respect the devs, they seem caring sometimes, but everythink is so f00ked up here. Im afraid this game it might soon end to be a quick glorius ride then..nothing. Dead like all the other ones.
With no hard feelings to devs and please excuse me but..shove the f00king Titans, fix this thing first!

The statless ship thing, relog, try again, clear cache, try again, I had it once, it fixed itself after a day or so  .
GL Stav...come back after a month or so to see if CCP has finally managed to clear things up, you never know  .

Well, one thing's for sure. You've left your mark on one of the most ambitious online games to date. EVEers will be talking about the days of m0o and Stavros far into the future. All other marauders and pirate corps will have that legend to live up to, to attempt to surpass. And if this paticular legend develops the way most end up doing, these stories will be about how you destroyed enemy stations and entire corps with a fleet of Titans in the days of old.

Leaving the game right when server stabilty is being fixed, and right before the game gets underway proper is a bit wierd imo.
I have fun just flying around in my rifter. Sometimes I think that all these people leaving have just rushed through the game on the 'battleship ladder' as quickly as possible.

STavros, if you are indeed going to leave, could you at least use some of your isk (I understand you have a lot of it) to hold some player events or something ?
Have a bit of fun, or help others to have some events before you go. See it like a Roman Emperor holding a games - the more lavish the better.
It would be a fitting exit, and a symbol of your power.

I am one of the hunter wannabe's who has waited since retail for this game to show some PvP spirit.
You know, fix the scanner/warp to anyone, remove 10 sec invul and hide ship until it's done lagging then go, lower targeting time 50% all ships, establish a noobzone of 20 systems per empire where it's impossible to attack at all, all other systems go back to retail status where it's possible to attack, decrease shiploss severity by say 50% somehow as some suggestions who have been around for months now.
Getting tired of waiting though so I fully understand why you dropped to console and typed kill.

i have never got poded or lose a ship since beta 5 (one time i lost my ship from warping from belt bug in beta... my ship left behind and pod warp away good bug lol)

That's highly doubtful, as that is no reason to flee.

Just wanted to say that you will be missed around here. Sadly, I moved a bit ago and haven't been able to log on for a little over a month till I get my cable hooked back up (today actually). So in short I missed a fun time and when I finally get a chance to come back a good portion of that fun time is leaving the game. You made the game that much more fun.

He added to the roleplaying atmosphere a lot more than you or 99% of the rest of the player population. Unless of course you consider that group mining operations add to the roleplaying atmosphere of the game

Stavros didnt and doesnt role play. Granted he was to be feared but so are all the other players who have been around since Beta.
I see him often shouting his mouth off in local about how was the best player EVE ever had ? This is a subject Im not qualified to dispute but surely Lord Zapp, j0rt or the guys running TTI may have something to say about that ...plus hundreds of others out there.
Why there are there so many of you out there praising him is beyond me. He will be forgotten very shortly I assure you.
He added no roleplay aspect to EVE and as I said of course he was powerful being in the game so long but it is widely known he is a cheat and exploiter too using Sensor Boosters etc.
Fair play , people who knew him should say goodbye but some of the rubbish in this thread (and the other) are a joke.
He's not going to come find all you bum lickers and give you his stuff.
He was a powerful , knowledgeable player who worked hard at greifing and exploiting but when it boiled down to it made pathetic smack talk in local about how he wished players would contract Terminal illnesses etc etc (not very funny reall IHMO) and his posts on forums were predictable one line adolecent ramblings .
Get a life , good riddance to you !!
Ps Stavros has NO claim for Emperor , his blood is tainted and his IQ is woefully low.

Surely a TTI diplomat could be just as good ? Or even an industrial miner/producer ?

Stavros is the same kid I've seen in every online game I've played in the last 11 years - spouting off about how elite he and his friends are and how everyone else is a 'nobody' and he 'owns j00.'
Maybe he contributed a lot in the early days as far as participating in PvP, and giving suggestions about developments, changes, bug fixes - I really can't say - but all I've ever seen him contribute is flaming and putting people down on the forums, and if I could guess by ANY of the reports I've heard about his behavior in game I hardly think he added to the "roleplaying atmosphere" of EVE.
In fact if anything people like him destroy any opportunities for genuine roleplay with their OOC smack talk and pwnage speak.
That said it still sucks to see veterans quit. I'm sure he'll reconsider in a few months and come back to see what's new.

I'd just like to point out that "griefing" and blockading is the only viable form of piracy supported by this game.
Do you put on 3 webifiers, a cargo scanner and then pray that the target doesn't have 2 MWDs and doesn't log while the cargo scanner (which I understand didn't work well anyway during the first month or 2) is active, or is it easier to just blow the target up in 5 seconds? Sure, there's the possibility of going after miners in 0.0, but do they carry refined megacyte, or blueprints? NO. If you wanted to be a pirate yourself, you would end up doing just what Stavros was doing because that is the most effective way of getting money from piracy.

my interpretation of a good 99% of stavros board posts were as humourous .. not flames .. not personal insults .. just intended to make people laugh (given he sometimes uses so much sarcasm/irony it can be hard to spot) .. once I twigged I grew to like the guy despite never meeting him anywhere in game

Oddly enought, Stavros is exactly all the things you mentioned. His alt, builder was very sucessful at all aspects of the market, trading and fortune making, that didn't involve punking ships.
He formed many alliances in his time, some short term, other much longer term, which required some form of diplomatic ability.
He was also reasonable at RP, the one time he tired it, in his amarr emperor bid interview.
Have Fun elsewhere stavros, you certainly spiced up the eve world, for both good and bad, on numerous occasions.

To clear things up... a bit about EVE pirates.
Gate Camping is not for Pirates. Its for Banana Republic Paramilitary Groups in South America. AKA Drug Cartels and such. Piracy is for the open Seas. While corps like m0o worked their arses off to be the Best People of the Banana, I have yet to see or meat a real Pirate.

Hmm, Stavr0s was the only one to ever destroy one of my ships, it was in beta with his silly "Captain Zerelia" alt, using bugged guns.
I'd have respect for him if he weren't exploiting at the time, but it was beta.. oh well.
As for quitting, meh. Won't be long before someone steps in to replace him.
I'm already up to l33tsp34k lvl 5 with HARRRRR lvl 4 myself, so..

AFAIK (Sorry, don't quote me on this , not like I have a clue what I'm thinking), the reason the thread went up was primarily for fun...
...and the other Stav for Emperor thread went up because someone who can act like an ******* as well as Stav can in charge would make Eve a little more interesting .
Maybe this clears things up for everyone who still hasn't got the clue?

It's never good to see a player leave, especially one as colourful as stavr0s.
The challenge though, for those that think Stavr0s is a great player, surely isn't getting to the top - it's staying there?
The game is finally getting balanced for combat, it's still got a way to go, but whoa, Stav get's podded (finally) and he leaves. I think that says a lot more of his style of play, than his wallet.
GL in whatever you do stav.

who hasnt heard of m0o, stavros, ywev, lord zap? you could say we are saying goodbye to all of them. cause im not sure but ywev and lord zap never said goodbye, at least i never heard about it. i would have liked to say goodbye to them as well. they where pirates, but they were pirates to the full extent and they helped people have fun and get mad at the same time.
you could say this is not only for stavros, but for all of them.
why flame? why troll? just say goodbye if you have nothing good to say.

Starvos.......you fool! :) You should have known since mid-may, (like the rest of us oldies, and like most tried to have some faith inspite of the obvious realities), that eve was going to grow terribly stale...I mean there is no point to anything, other than what you make of it...and this game is too dam slow, and tedious. Sure having 2.5 billion isk, like me :), is nice to have... but how much ****e can you cause, that is the same ****e...before you can't stand playing anymore...this game needs diversity and greater opportunity for character advancement, and there is a finite limit that is easily reached... Eve is for cara_bears...who need a new friend to chat with...all nicely and complacently set in the the glorious eye candy galaxy of eve...but the substance starts and ends there.
Eve is for people that enjoy aquiring more and more pretend stuff....to no other end... They most certainly are not attempting to engage in challenging interpersonal gaming conflicts. Its truly galactic walmart...the only thing i'm surprised with, is that this game didn't come out of the states...its the perfect example of american values. So long starvos, and enjoy all you perfect consumers!
But all of this stuff has already been said by eveyone that left in June! So perhaps a better thing to do would be a hyperlink to the past...which was a boring as the present. I new it then but foolishly hoped for the promised land...lol Why do i still play? i don't often anymore, anyone one that wants my 2.5 billion in assets can start bidding...lol.

Actually I try never to flame people but let me just say this:
Back in beta-eve I was doing those plutonium-runs together with a few corpfriends and after a while we noticed someone flying around in our system shooting people for no reason. That was the first time I met Stavros. Warping in to a station I saw him there in his cruiser trying to kill people and generally doing nothing but shooting them for no real reason just cause he thought it was fun.
Eversince then heŠs been doing pretty much the same thing day in day out. Riding all over EvE killing people just for fun. The only difference between beta and now is that he now has/had the moo-corp to back him up.
Actually I donŠt even know if he already was with moo back in beta, but it doesnŠt play a role for me either.
In beta he was just some player flying around shooting people for no reason. Now in retail heŠs still the same player still shooting people for still no reason.
As a roleplaying person you might understand that I donŠt have the slightest bit of respect for Stavros because to me he is/was nothing but some guy flying around shooting people for... guess what.... no reason.
I donŠt hate him or anything because actually I believe heŠs pretty much the same kind of computernerd as everyone else in here (including me), but I really have a hard time trying to understand why people kind of worship him for being nothing but an *******-character (notice how I said character!) in EvE.
To me it was always clear that he was going to leave the game pretty soon after beta and as you can see I was right because I knew that his playing style becomes boring very quickly, and it was the same thing with all other leaving members of moo.
As said I donŠt have any disrespect for moo or Stavros as a person, but seriosly I think this thread and this entire "Stav for emperor" thing is complete bs made up by people with too much time on their hands. To me Stavros or moo is far from being anything special. Any smaller ROLEPLAYING corp out there means more than twice as much to me since itŠs those corps and players who will keep the game alive.
So after all I still have nothing but a simple "bye" for Stavros. But all this worshipping him is just beyond me

You get waaaay too many ships.
I mean, face it. The ship/item market would be dead on its feet.
There would be no-one making things interesting (You're mining in a system and you see M0o enter local, you aren't just going to sigh, think "Gawd this is boring", and carry on mining).

I'm not a PVPer (normaly) and i'm not famus, but i think its very kool that stavro's did what he did, He had fun, he played the game his way!
If you hate him becuase he's a pirate, good, but you shouldn't just hate him and call him names, he's a person, he did what you did his way. He decided to have fun. Its a game people really give it up, your sec score means ****! Really, if you enjoy just mining to make a living, do that, but some of us like other things as well.

See there are still hundreds of players shooting each other in the game right now. The big difference between them and Stav (and/or moo) however is that those people actually do it for a reason and not simply to destroy other peopleŠs ships.
Many of them have roleplaying going on and are therefor going to war against another corp. Others are playing the real pirates sitting at gates getting paid by innocents so they can pass.
I donŠt have any problem with PvP, in fact I love PvP as long as itŠs for a reason.
To me moo are/have been nothing but a bunch of people killing others for no reason so I canŠt say I have any bad feelings about them leaving. It doesnŠt make a difference to me actually besides now I can rest assured that those absolutely stupid and annoying "Stav for emperor" sigs will be gone soon

This is where you are wrong. Why?
Because the lack of proper preparation of the game let people like Stavros use cheats, these cheats continued over to release which was a big mistake from CCPs part, any fool would foresee that people who could use cheats they would quit shortly after that. Couple that with the bugs, and you have a solid base for a number of people quiting. No matter what you and others think some people will always cheat, even in a flawless game they would find a way to cheat, its just now that it would look kinda boring for looking for those cheats after all the cheats had been handed to you easily in the past. There is no more challenge for them. They would be still here if CCP knew better. Chances were that noone could fight those cheats cause prolly they wouldnt be cheats with the normal way, chances are that hardcore "carebears" would have quited and a more PvP and versatile style of players might had slowly started to join, this would have take a near flawless game like EVE could have been to a whole new level.
A good player driven game as Eve is supposed to be, must have a really good background that educates and drives the unsuspected new player through his firts steps. Then all you have to do is sit back and see this game coming alive by itself.
Atm we dont have a player driven game, but a player drivel..period.
