Yep. How can anyone say who's better under these conditions, since there's no way to know who was lagged out, unable to lock, unable to fire, unable to move, unable to do anything really. Personally I feel like I shouldn't even bother to fight under these circumstances, becuase my game experience has been 2 targets locked in about 30 minutes of combat and about 10 rounds expended. Lag is not new but CCP must address these issues. The game from my perspective is effectively unplayable, and currently the most likely winner of a battle would be whomever has the fickle finger of game lag on their side. Frankly, that's no way to play a game.

Not sure if BB killed any MC BS's but I see 4 MC BS losses on the CHSN KB. Either way nice numbers , I know I was hearing nothing but frustration about the lag and the switch of CI's standings on our TS. I'm glad I logged in late and missed this one.

God yes, the lag was horrible!
Might have saved my ship for a few minutes though, when everyone had locked me and I didn't see any of the yellow brackets turn red Unfortunately fighter drones don't have to click any modules... It is a kind of rewarding (?) moment though when your turrets finally activate at a target, even though you've told them to minutes ago. I was so happy to see those little icons next to my target, knowing that he wouldn't be able to do anything about it because of the lag
What got me though in the end is that my right click menu decided to totally die on me, and not let me warp out. Good fight everyone involved! --- WTS: Forum Signatures, 30mil a piece. Evemail me!

WOW I think this is the 3rd BWF lag thread!
a hint: Lag never goes away in fleet fights unless they can be planned enough for the GMs/Devs (whatever) to rout more server resources to ya.
I hope in the future fleet fights are more lag free, but I guess current technology can only go so far. :( Sig must be under 24000 bytes - Cathath ([email protected]) They ganked my sig!! |

Fleet fights aren't supported successfully by Eve. Wish CCP would simply acknowledge that and make their marketing language reflect it. Too bad, since they also promote alliances which in my view goes hand in hand with large scale fleet fights. I wonder if alliances really aren't successfully supported either...

I still think fleet battles should be auto-resolved by server when more than 80ppl are involved :p but then again I am not a big fan of sniper fights

Well the GM we talked to last weekend said it wasn't possible to route more resources as its automatically done, also he said their wasn't any lag whatsoever in BWF last weekend and that no one else had complained about it , seriously to get a response like that is pathetic.

"MC held the gate in the end"
Yeah.. difference between a fully loaded area that your already in
As opposed to an area blobbed with ships that you have to load warping in.

More likely the GM said that there were no records of lag causing your ship loss. There was plenty of other dicussion about it in the other bwf lag cry thread.

Hopefully, with the responeses in this thread they (CCP) might do something. *What I say is not necessary representing The Big Blue Alliance*

Im sorry to say this, but there is no lag in EVE. Its 120 computers spread around the world breaking down exactly the same time .
Having Tuxford fixing the blasters is like having a blind man teaching you how to drive - just wont work.

Word on the street is they lost a complete Capital shipyard POS and there was a mothership that went boom boom cause its production wasn't complete when it got toasted.
Not exactly sure as rumor mill is most likely false. Anyone that can confirm any of this to be true??

I am very ****ed off with it all and thus i'm putting off from major fleet battles as at the moment they are not at all enjoyable, even large battles are pot luck. If it was a problem with my computer or my connection I wouldn't be ****ed off, it would be my own bloody fault and i'd upgrade.
But its nothing to do with my computer or my connection, the problem lies at CCP's end, if they admitted that there was a problem I would understand but at the moment the official word seems to be "there is no lag".
In this case therefore tactics go out the window as people freeze up and BB, MC and everyone else just ends up sitting there looking at our screens not knowing if your dead, if you've fired or if you've been able to warp out. Additionally in this war BB needs to be able to use tactics to be able to defend ourselfs but we can't.
I know it may seem like a whine, but im paying for this game and i want CCP to acknowledge my concerns and say they are doing something about it, I would even accept (though its not feasible) if they ended setting limits on how many players from either side could warp to a specific area.
What i want if for either CCP to say they are going to be able to fix it or admit to us that there is a problem at the very least.

Edited by: Emsigma on 12/06/2006 00:47:33 It is complete and utter bull**** that "there is no lag".
For me as a customer it is totally irrelevant for what reason the system is so laggy. I am running a new nicely specced computer and I am on the internet backbone in Sweden, so to say at the problems is at MY end is just blatant lies.
When I was up in Burgerking we had twice the size of the fleets and literarly over 1000 drones out when we warped in. Sure it took 30 seconds to load the grid but once loaded it went somewhat smooth.
In BWF the lag is 10 times worse when local was up to 50.
Edit: BTW.. the two GM's that paid us a visit today when local was up to 70. Did you experience any lag at all in that system at that time? Note that there was no fighting going on at all at that time.
Thank you CCP for just telling us every single time that there is no such thing as lag in BWF and that you will not even consider to take a look at it. If those GM's can post/evemail me and swear on their firstbones grave that they did not experience any lag in that system at that time I will forever be silent about the issue.

We all know theres lag in fleet battles. But there really shouldn't be the lag there is atm with the amount of people that are in BWF.
Both sides of this war are gimped by this horrendous lag. The 40 Large pos in system are contributing to the lag a bunch, but it really sucks cause none of the fights are occuring at these pos.
CCP could u please give BWF the memory alotment Jita has please for the next couple weeks?
Cause the fleet operations here are quite smaller compared to the ones i've been in before yet they are almost unplayable.

There must be something seriously wrong with BWF, i don't know what's causing it, but GMs deny any problem. I've been in many laggy battles, from the lag and node crashes in VV-VCR a long time ago to jumping in on the PA drone-camp in BKG - but, this beats everything. Yes, there is usually lag involved in big fleet fights, but here it's just crazy and you even get module-lag in small engagements.
I was really looking forward to get some good fraps of these engagements, but all I got was 30 minutes of me trying to activate my guns.
The GMs say everything from that they can't manually allocate more power to BWF, to that there is no such thing as server-lag.

This was the second battle in this war i fought in. Again it was unplayable. Everyone in MC and TBB have every right to be ****ed off about their service requests being swept under the rug by CCP. How many businesses in the world can prosper by not offering customer service? CCP you are no different. Either acknowledge and communicate a plan to fix those problems or EVE players will find other ways to spend their entertainment dollars on products that are not broken.
Does CCP really want us to put the word out that their product is only playable if you mine, haul, or pvp 1 on 1? So far my limited experiance in alliance warfare is unplayable at best. Im not sure I care to accumulate isk to buy support ships for fleet operations in battles that can't be fought because of game limitations. What is the point in support ships? Or skills that are used to support other players on the battle field if the game can't handle a mid size battle like we had today?

CCP don't have to give customer service in this case because if MC boycott they lose their mission fee and if TBB boycott they lose their space.
Of course the simple answer for TBB is to make sure they're not the ones jumping/warping in, which should be easier than it seems to have been so far when they're on the defensive.
