Well lag is part of the game nowadays Like Hac Prices Adapt Just warp in and go get a drink or something by the time your back you will have loaded.

Edited by: Mechanical Death on 11/06/2006 20:01:39 The lag was unbearable. Couldn't lock, couldn't fire, couldn't warp, it was just unplayable with roughly 120 people in local. Thanks for the good times CCP.

Edited by: Azeusus on 11/06/2006 20:03:50 agree that the lag was shocking, my logs showed 6mins from pressing warp to the point i actually moved, in that time made myself a c-r-a-c-k-ing cup of coffee!
Nice fight, didnt see any of it as overview was blank, but kudos to all for trying to fight.

Edited by: Recluse Viramor on 11/06/2006 20:05:32 Yeah was a great battle aside from the horrid lag.
It was a bit of a suprise though to have CI shooting us when it was believed that CI was blue to BB and was confirmed... obviously not the case. Would have been nice for them to announce their change of standings but it did add the element of suprise, albiet dishonorable.

Im in a TBB v MC thread... heh
Although i wasn't able to take part in the battle, study, pc issues etc, i was trying to even chat while in bwf-zz... and that was even borked, something tells me lag shouldn't be this bad, even people who are in bigger fleet battles say this is the worst. I don't know what it is that makes this particular system so laggy. I think its the 20-30 POS in system putting strain on that server. But it's only a guess.

I opened corel after I was at the pill.
And those programs didn't cause the lag. This was internet problem, hence (lag). If those programs where causing a problem i would have said "it was choppy" meaning FPS.
Problem: lag, I wasn't the only one having the problem, many others, as you can see by reading the posts.

Yep. How can anyone say who's better under these conditions, since there's no way to know who was lagged out, unable to lock, unable to fire, unable to move, unable to do anything really. Personally I feel like I shouldn't even bother to fight under these circumstances, becuase my game experience has been 2 targets locked in about 30 minutes of combat and about 10 rounds expended. Lag is not new but CCP must address these issues. The game from my perspective is effectively unplayable, and currently the most likely winner of a battle would be whomever has the fickle finger of game lag on their side. Frankly, that's no way to play a game.

Not sure if BB killed any MC BS's but I see 4 MC BS losses on the CHSN KB. Either way nice numbers , I know I was hearing nothing but frustration about the lag and the switch of CI's standings on our TS. I'm glad I logged in late and missed this one.

God yes, the lag was horrible!
Might have saved my ship for a few minutes though, when everyone had locked me and I didn't see any of the yellow brackets turn red Unfortunately fighter drones don't have to click any modules... It is a kind of rewarding (?) moment though when your turrets finally activate at a target, even though you've told them to minutes ago. I was so happy to see those little icons next to my target, knowing that he wouldn't be able to do anything about it because of the lag
What got me though in the end is that my right click menu decided to totally die on me, and not let me warp out. Good fight everyone involved! --- WTS: Forum Signatures, 30mil a piece. Evemail me!

WOW I think this is the 3rd BWF lag thread!
a hint: Lag never goes away in fleet fights unless they can be planned enough for the GMs/Devs (whatever) to rout more server resources to ya.

Fleet fights aren't supported successfully by Eve. Wish CCP would simply acknowledge that and make their marketing language reflect it. Too bad, since they also promote alliances which in my view goes hand in hand with large scale fleet fights. I wonder if alliances really aren't successfully supported either...

Well the GM we talked to last weekend said it wasn't possible to route more resources as its automatically done, also he said their wasn't any lag whatsoever in BWF last weekend and that no one else had complained about it , seriously to get a response like that is pathetic.

I am very ****ed off with it all and thus i'm putting off from major fleet battles as at the moment they are not at all enjoyable, even large battles are pot luck. If it was a problem with my computer or my connection I wouldn't be ****ed off, it would be my own bloody fault and i'd upgrade.
But its nothing to do with my computer or my connection, the problem lies at CCP's end, if they admitted that there was a problem I would understand but at the moment the official word seems to be "there is no lag".
In this case therefore tactics go out the window as people freeze up and BB, MC and everyone else just ends up sitting there looking at our screens not knowing if your dead, if you've fired or if you've been able to warp out. Additionally in this war BB needs to be able to use tactics to be able to defend ourselfs but we can't.
I know it may seem like a whine, but im paying for this game and i want CCP to acknowledge my concerns and say they are doing something about it, I would even accept (though its not feasible) if they ended setting limits on how many players from either side could warp to a specific area.
What i want if for either CCP to say they are going to be able to fix it or admit to us that there is a problem at the very least.

Edited by: Emsigma on 12/06/2006 00:47:33 It is complete and utter bull**** that "there is no lag".
For me as a customer it is totally irrelevant for what reason the system is so laggy. I am running a new nicely specced computer and I am on the internet backbone in Sweden, so to say at the problems is at MY end is just blatant lies.
When I was up in Burgerking we had twice the size of the fleets and literarly over 1000 drones out when we warped in. Sure it took 30 seconds to load the grid but once loaded it went somewhat smooth.
In BWF the lag is 10 times worse when local was up to 50.
Edit: BTW.. the two GM's that paid us a visit today when local was up to 70. Did you experience any lag at all in that system at that time? Note that there was no fighting going on at all at that time.
Thank you CCP for just telling us every single time that there is no such thing as lag in BWF and that you will not even consider to take a look at it. If those GM's can post/evemail me and swear on their firstbones grave that they did not experience any lag in that system at that time I will forever be silent about the issue.

We all know theres lag in fleet battles. But there really shouldn't be the lag there is atm with the amount of people that are in BWF.
Both sides of this war are gimped by this horrendous lag. The 40 Large pos in system are contributing to the lag a bunch, but it really sucks cause none of the fights are occuring at these pos.
CCP could u please give BWF the memory alotment Jita has please for the next couple weeks?
Cause the fleet operations here are quite smaller compared to the ones i've been in before yet they are almost unplayable.

There must be something seriously wrong with BWF, i don't know what's causing it, but GMs deny any problem. I've been in many laggy battles, from the lag and node crashes in VV-VCR a long time ago to jumping in on the PA drone-camp in BKG - but, this beats everything. Yes, there is usually lag involved in big fleet fights, but here it's just crazy and you even get module-lag in small engagements.
I was really looking forward to get some good fraps of these engagements, but all I got was 30 minutes of me trying to activate my guns.
The GMs say everything from that they can't manually allocate more power to BWF, to that there is no such thing as server-lag.

This was the second battle in this war i fought in. Again it was unplayable. Everyone in MC and TBB have every right to be ****ed off about their service requests being swept under the rug by CCP. How many businesses in the world can prosper by not offering customer service? CCP you are no different. Either acknowledge and communicate a plan to fix those problems or EVE players will find other ways to spend their entertainment dollars on products that are not broken.
Does CCP really want us to put the word out that their product is only playable if you mine, haul, or pvp 1 on 1? So far my limited experiance in alliance warfare is unplayable at best. Im not sure I care to accumulate isk to buy support ships for fleet operations in battles that can't be fought because of game limitations. What is the point in support ships? Or skills that are used to support other players on the battle field if the game can't handle a mid size battle like we had today?

CCP don't have to give customer service in this case because if MC boycott they lose their mission fee and if TBB boycott they lose their space.
Of course the simple answer for TBB is to make sure they're not the ones jumping/warping in, which should be easier than it seems to have been so far when they're on the defensive.

Not exactly sure as rumor mill is most likely false. Anyone that can confirm any of this to be true??
Confirmed. More details 'soon'.

Lag sucks indeed. And also, before anybody makes a drama out of it:
Yes, we lost a capital shipyard. Yes, we lost a fair amount of capital components that were in the HANGAR (::: nothing was producing at that POS :::). We made a little error and forgot to evacuate the contents of that particular POS last week when we were informed about the upcoming war. This has resulted in the loss of about 20bill in capital components, the moment MC blew the POS to bits.
However, I firmly decline a "a mothership went boom cause it's production wasn't complete". We have multiple Shipyards and we stock massive amounts components at all of them; we forgot to evacuate this one and that was our bad.
And to answer the question before it gets answered: it's not having any direct on our capital production at all. Capital ship production is still going on in our empire factories, and, obviously, all capital ship production in IPS has been paused since the start of the war.
It was a stupid mistake but has no real effects on anything [BLUE] or N.A.G.A. --

Well, having fought in skirmishes several times on Sunday (and lost a Raven in one - good fight MC!) with no sign of lag, I was looking forward to the big fleet battle later that evening once we started forming up.
When I warped in, I didn't get a single shot off, and only managed to target 2 people. I sure as hell couldn't warp out when my shields and armour failed (I couldn't get any right click menus up at all), and once my ship was killed it took 4 minutes for the pod to load. Luckily that responded to one of the many frantic commands I'd been trying to give my Raven earlier, and warped out.
I have absolutely no problem losing ships in a fair fight, and in fact would probably have lost it anyway, but losing it without getting a single shot off is pretty gutting.
Oh well, maybe next time
Oh, and while we're on the topic, nice to have some smack-free fights - respect to all concerned.

I had 4 points on you anyway (even if it did take 2 mins to activate them)maybe it didn't update the warping thingy on your raven but yes that lag was horrendous, considering you had advantage of positioning your support in our bs i think you were hit as hard by the lag monster as us based on the results. Good fights though and no smack really, which is very refreshing :)

I would have preferred to discuss this in private, but I must ask a few things:
Originally by: Ishida Yes, we lost a capital shipyard. Yes, we lost a fair amount of capital components that were in the HANGAR (::: nothing was producing at that POS :::).
Thanks for saving me the trouble of confirming this in private.
Quote: However, I firmly decline a "a mothership went boom cause it's production wasn't complete".
The number of components present in the array were certainly enough to build a Nyx so whether it was "building" or not, what difference does that make really?
More importantly, I must ask about this:
Quote: This has resulted in the loss of about 20bill in capital components, the moment MC blew the POS to bits.
Quote: It was a stupid mistake but has no real effects on anything [BLUE] or N.A.G.A.
In terms of just infrastructure, you lost 20 billion in capital components, another 10 billion or more in POS's and modules... but it has no real effect on you?
M8, statements like that are a bit over the top. Like yours, my alliance is one of the richest in the game, but I can promise you that if someone took that much money out of my cookie jar in one weekend, I'd notice.
Anyway, I'm not going to go any further with this on these forums. I wouldn't mind speaking with you or other BB leadership in private. You may contact me in game later today or ask Elroy for my MSN.

Hey Seleene :)
Only going to reply 1 thing in public: it really has no real effect on us, I don't lie about stuff like that. Yes, ofcourse we notice somebody took 30Bill out of our cookie jar and we don't like it, but it's already dealt with.

Edited by: The End on 12/06/2006 12:50:23 lol i like how N.A.G.A tries to save face by saying a 20+bil loss doesnt affect them....
That is big loss indeed not only did you lose potential isk making but you contributed to the morale of your enemies simutainously decreasing your alliances morale.
in terms of isk it may or may not be a devesating loss. it would for most alliances however its the other factors that hurt the most...

Alliance morale has only gone up in the past few days, I refer to this very topic where it's stated that we had a nice fight, despite the lag, and that there was no smack etc etc.
Saying stuff like "tries to save face" and "decreasing alliance morale" is a wrong assumption, cause: - we don't have to save face; we are under attack, we just lost 30Bill. I said we are annoyed, never said it was not a big loss, but it has no effect on BLUE, only on NAGA. And naga dealt with it already. If anything, we acknowledge the fact MC is doing a good job for their client. - alliance morale is at an alltime high; you should see the eve blue forum :-)
it has all been said now tbh. --

How did you do that? I havent played for very long but just how do you deal with a 30 billion isk loss?

Maybe up where you are morale is high but the common player who cant replace 30 billion isk losses feels a bit differently. All of the talk about lag aside what has blue really done to stop the MC steemroller? Is there some giant counterattack in the works or are the people in charge really waiting on these Penetrate idiots who were shooting at us a couple weeks ago to save us?

by working hard, all day long, since they day they announced Tech2. Honestly, we had setbacks that cost us almost as much as this, and we're still here, right ?

there's not 1 player here replacing the 30Bill loss. We are 125+ in N.A.G.A, last time I counted. I'm not trying to talk down the loss, cause it *is* 30Bill. It's alot for us aswell, but we deal with it. As an example, would BoB fall apart or die when they loose their supposed Titan ? I don't think so. Neither will BLUE.
We *will* keep on fighting, as we proved yesterday evening --

To Big Blue: Ever thought that paying those 20bil - 30bil - or even 40+++ bil that you're losing in this war (because factories are at halt in BWF, etc), to some corp/alliance to help you in your battle?
Would definitely be much more worth the iskies...
