This gave me a chuckle - 50m bounties on two of my trading alts. The good lady who placed them has the following corp description:

Jita Pricecutter Tournament Rules:
- when you qualify you get your first small reward of just 50M bounty, to encourage you to destroy some more selling prices and get seriously involved in the competition;
- winning "The Top Undercutter of the Week" title your bounty will be upped to 500M, which should stay with you for a while, giving you another thrill, when flying your ships, and you will also automatically enter the monthly competition;
- winning "The Top Undercutter of the Month" title will reward you with an undisclosed number of blind, surprise dates with some of the best and most famost mercenaries of New Eden, and you will also automatically enter the yealy competition;
- winning "The Top Undercutter of the Year" title will reward you with the jackpot - an exceptional, custom designed prize, that will really leave you speechless;
- some runner-up prizes may be also rewarded at the discretion of Lady Verassa Lian, who is running the contests.

I would have much preferred the bounties on this character (I can never seem to hold onto them unfortunately) but I applaud the concept of market PvP.
If only the bounty system provided meaningful consequence...

I tried but no dice - I think she's onto us! I hope I win the merc contract prize, although again it would be much more fun on this character than my station trading characters who, well, just sit in the station and trade.
A merc contract against Stay Frosty would be quite diverting of they dared to come into lowsec.

It seems it was skillbooks. An update:
"The rewards and titles are awarded primarily to pilots, who significantly or notoriously undercut at Jita the selling prices of skillbooks, while those prices are at or above 104% of NPC price (but in special cases some other pricecutting achievements may also be recognized)."
The irony is that I don't actually trade skillbooks. I was just clearing out some assets and came across a stack of industry-related books (mostly invention) that I had accidentally bought I'm duplicate. I was only interested in recouping my initial expenditure so undercut heavily.
Disappointing. I would have liked to play some games with some of my stock items.

I got bountied for .55bil for wardeccing, and have been flying a fully laden freighter for months with no notice. If there's a business case for bounties, I still haven't seen it yet.;

OMG, I'm really scared now.
That will, most certainly, keep me away from undercutting people in Jita...
Funny thing is, I was undercutting someone with stuff that would sell for 10M isk, if that much, and got a bounty of 50M (on one of the trade Alts)
These are the real "businessmen" with whom we need to learn "tactics".
OFC, posting in MD, there is no need to warn with (sarcasm on) and (sarcasm off).

Thank you, thank you all for your enthusiastic support to out little tournament :)) .
Sorry to be late here, but things are quite busy at Jita. Also, we are still in "beta" - details are being constantly improved to accommodate the participants as much, as possible. The hot news is, that currently some new perks are being added to the rewards, but those I will let you discover on your own - feel free to post them, when you do.

Gratz, Bathana, on claiming 14.5M of your bounty so fast. It always gives me great pleasure to see "the alts that will never undock" going out of their way to claim the rewards. Or did you get paid, because of someone blowing up your Jita trading desk?

Sweetie, I can't express in words, how grateful I am for your constant support :)). All those nice mails, helping us in developing the rules. And this wonderful surprise, when I learned, that you have found our effort worthy of a forum thread. What can I say, I'm really flattered. And all of this from just the first player, that we have invited to take part in our tournament :)).
I'm really sad to hear, that due to the tournament being restricted to skillbooks, you are not going to actively participate any longer. Especially, taking into the account the great potential of one of your trading alts, which has been able to claim full 50M bounty even before your first post, less than 1.5h after I posted it! I do believe, that you greatly underestimate his potential, and that it may surprise you more than once in the future, but the time will tell...
Unfortunately, even with all your pleas for more bounties, here and in mails, I can't stretch the rules to accommodate you, if you don't play the game any longer. Which is really sad, because I'm ready to bet, that this underestimated alt would again claim it in a splendid way. But as a sign of my appreciation for all your effort, let me dig in my private coffer...

Except we both know you placed it on my main and it's corp. If you want to waste 100m on that it will not bother me at all. |

Any of you folks can, kindly, post a list of said skill books, they must be very profitable. I need to make some isk and play on the "tournament" as a bonus, I have some love history with bounties.
This is serious "business", I'm shaking on thinking I can win this one and be chased by the best mercenaries... that would be awesome.

I'm not sure which one(s) they were specifically. I had a stack of invention-related science books (e.g. Graviton Physics, Mechanical Engineering etc) that I had mistakenly bought too many copies of for my alts. They were mostly 10m and 20m from NPC buy orders. I just sold them at cost (10m + fees) which undercut the Jita sell orders by a few percent.
On a broader bounty note, I do wish this was an effective way to punish other players but I just don't think it has any effect at the moment. Sure, the bounty on my alt was claimed. But he was caught in a nullsec bubble when I derped and didn't have the function keys enabled for cloaking. They certainly didn't kill him to claim the bounty so it had no discernible effect on either his behaviour or whether he died.
The mercenary option might be good if you make enough of a story about it and enough people hear about it that some change their pricing habits. But it is hardly a sustainable enforcement method in terms of the cost or hiring to profit loss ratio.
