Active rep your fit. Outlast him. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective.

This is really dumb and kinda relies on him voluntarily coming within scram range to hold him down (and not having full scram+web+AB fit to get back out), but outside of ridiculously specific fits a Drake won't actually ever be able to break it (800+ regen vs Kinetic without overheating the hardener, which is more than a Drake can do with overheated Rage HAMs and 3xBCS) so you can basically just sit there until he makes a mistake or make him warp off and claim victory. |

Simple, indeed, and so obvious. I love it, is like DOH.
Anyway the dude didnt show. He will eventually appear but today he's being reported as sneaking a bit and rarely quiet. Then off all day. I'll update if anything happens. Thanks again. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=41496&find=unread

No one has mentioned implants? They are quite significant with the right fit ... Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end. |

I agree! If one would ever spend a silly amount of isk, this is the time to do it.
Also, bling your ship! |

I disagree. There is nothing which cannot be made better with their addition to your proximity. |

He'll have friends to win the fight because it's a drake. Why? It's been covered already, you can tank a drake more than it can put out in dps. If you both fit for that a true 1v1 would never end till dt or you run out of ammo.
So, if he's as you say and pretty experienced he'll know this and want a trump card. Worst thing is, if it is a trap then he just get's to say 'yip it's EVE' and no one will care apart from your dented pride.
So instead, blow him the hell up with friends/alts/whatever you devise.
Or e-honour... |

I get what you say and this comes to match the implant question as the extra dps may come not just from drake but for the implants that I am using for missile damage, rapid launch and so. Also the whole set of mid-grade crystal, mostly for shield booster but this fit will not use them so... we will see.
For me what matters is that I showed while others have cowarded in station stoping their lifes because of a dude. I showed with a good fit and ready for a fight to set the things for once no matter what. Win or lose is a matter of isk and score but the fun behind the play -at least in my mind- is not to have 100 more or less millions in wallet. E-honour but Eve-honour. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=41496&find=unread

Aaah but if it's a trap (it likely is) then you are giving that guy what he wants.
Have you considered counter offering him with ships that can actually kill each other? Caracals perhaps and if the isk inolved is a thing just make it a best of 3. |

I have the support of most in due solar system and a logi ready on fleet in case the guy sets a trap and honourable duel turns into a fleet Vs. fleet situation but I will not be the one who breaks the pact first. The match was yesterday and he didn't show so the moral victory is already mine even if it would have tasted better with the block's corpse freezing in space. In case he ends by showing, fights honest and none of us is able to pop the other's ship, then I will offer him what you suggest. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=41496&find=unread

To answer your questions towards the reinforcing of the mobile depots:
A Mobile Depot has ~22500 EHP or sth like that, with most of it in structure. It gets reinforced at 25% shields remaining and will then not allow the use of it's fitting service once it's online.
This leads to following behaviour in combat if dropped without reinforcing it before:
It takes your enemy some 6-7k raw dmg to deny you the use of your mobile depot. If you wanted to use it again, you actually had to scoop it and redeploy it.
So a smart enemy would wait til it's half way onlined, switch over to it, reinforce it, switch back to you. Voila, you just lost ~45 seconds on your way to refits.
However, if you do reinforce it before using it in combat, it has some ~17k EHP or whatever it was until it can be 'denied'. That's 17k ehp you won't have to suffer. And he has the choice of either staying on you, thus granting you the advantage of refits, or to shoot at it, that's where you get the advantage of being able to dps him while he won't shoot back. |

after you win there are a few extra steps.
1. say gf in local. 2. find a faction warfare, pirate or npc nullsec pvp corp. 3. join them and learn to pvp to feed you new adrenaline addiction.
you are welcome. Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85 |
