Opinion & Answers
Per our clientĘs request we have been asked to clarify the specific goals of this war. The MC is a military organization and thus simply does as our clientĘs wish. However, in this case, I will try to clarify things in simple terms.
This war was never about BWF or the Blue Pill. It was not about hurting EVE University nor was it about driving up HAC prices. It was not about our poor Shark. It was about demonstrating that a 'neutral' industry conglomerate cannot expect to build tools of war on the scale of Motherships and be safe from the potential consequences. Our client wished to test the resolve and ability of Big Blue to defend their industry and territory and we followed those instructions to the best of our ability.
Obviously Big Blue was unprepared for what happened. Even so, it did not stop their pilots from doing what they could when the opportunity presented itself. It is interesting to note that during our POS takedowns, as we began our assault on the EVE University POS's in 8MG, they had pilots actually onlining more guns and modules in an attempt to slow us down!
The MC assault was fast, furious and overwhelming in its intensity the last ten days. We had record numbers of pilots online but it was very seldom that we held the advantage in numbers. Never before has the MC thrown this much into an all or nothing job. We were absolutely relentless and we expected that Big Blue would recognize the invasion for what it was: an actual war, not just a cheap ganking session. Apparently, they did not until it was too late.
End Game
At present, we have achieved all of the initial goals set forth by our client. Earlier today I spoke with leadership representatives of Big Blue and we have reached an amicable resolution to the current situation, the details of which everyone is more than free to speculate about. DonĘt bother though. The truth is seldom as spectacular as some of the things said on these forums.
Know this - the war between MC and Big Blue is over. The outpost in 8MG will revert to Big Blue control. The MC will maintain a military presence in Big Blue space for the next several days. Anyone attacking Big Blue or attempting to take advantage of their current situation will have to go through the MC first.
That is all. Thank you and good night. -

On the night of Wednesday, 7 June '06 the MC stood up a death star POS in BWF and began intensive carrier-based ops that further increased our control of the area. For those that wonder, WCS are no defense against a dozen fighters on your ass.
On Friday, 9 June '06, we began an extensive siege of the Blue Pill outpost in BWF while a division of the MC Capital Ship Fleet started the process of liberating 8MG from Big Blue control. An attack by Blue on Saturday night to prevent the installation of an MC POS in 8MG ended in failure. A follow up attempt to enter the system the next day met with similar results.
One of the centerpieces of this entire operation was the destruction of the Stepstone Capital Shipyard POS in 8MG which had over 20 billion isk in components stored for mothership production. In addition to this, a Capital Ship Maintenance array was left unanchored in the POS bubble. This 900 million isk module was scooped up by an MC dreadnaught and safely moved out for use by us in the future.
On Sunday afternoon, 1800 EVE time, the last Blue POS in 8MG went into reinforced mode.
After downtime today, Masada Station came under attack by MC forces.
As of 12:21 EVE time today the Minmatar Refinery in 8MG now belongs to the Mercenary Coalition.

Well, the drama of this one has been high and it's time for some answers from our side of things. I'll try to separate fact from opinion but remember - this is our point of view and Blue can respond however they see fit. Sorry, no fancy banners as there was no time. Things moved too fast.
ALL MC REPLIES TO THIS THREAD WILL BE RESPECTFUL!
The Decision
Why did we do this? When the MC takes a contract, we consider many different factors. We wanted a challenge; we wanted to do something that would test us both militarily and logistically. We also wanted a chance to fly with our new brothers and sisters in Contraband and give them a chance to show their capabilities in a variety of situations. (They rock, btw!)
We looked at the options available to us and selected what we believed to be the hardest.
Big Blue space is among the most heavily fortified in EVE. Our scouts reported daily, heavy gate camps, complete with bubbles and the like. We saw carriers, dreads, swarms of players in small ships throwing themselves at their enemies and a massive POS defense network. We got ready for a major slugfest and prepared to bring it like never before.
Phase I
I would first like to thank CCP for the complete lack of lag in the system.
The largest battle of the war took place the night of Saturday, 3 June '06 when the MC entered BWF in force for the first time. The gate was completely bubbled and the Big Blue forces had the support of at least four carriers. A gang of sixty-eight MC jumped into over one-hundred enemy ships.
Attacking the BB Blockade
Aftermath
The laggy and bloody aftermath saw fifteen MC battleships down with twenty-three enemy BS killed along with nearly eighty Blue support ships.
We took the gate. At no point since has Blue attempted to form another fleet the size of this one. The following days saw the MC firming up our control of BWF and the adjoining system of 8MG.
A common sight on the BWF gates.
Only during certain time periods between 0100-0500 EVE time did we see any real enemy gangs forming. BWF entered a near permanent state of 'lockdown' while MC patrols kept the gate back to empire clear for those entities who swore not to interfere in our operations.

Edited by: LoxyRider on 12/06/2006 21:09:38 Awesome contract, the scale and dificulty was somthing I dont think the MC have tried before. To take on Big Blue, 2 outposts and a heck a lot of pilots Im damn pleased with our result. Good luck to Big Blue and Eve-U in the future, you were valid targets but you do good work.

Yah, I made it to the first page. I don't know about the client's agenda was just to test TBB's will to defend a neutral space, that seems like a lot of money to hire MC just for that.

I would like to thank Big Blue for all the crazy fights I had. First time I have had the shakes in pvp in a long time. Fighting outnumbered 4TW. Learned a few things about station warfare from ya'll.
And the mostly smack free environment was a blessing. GL to TBB in their future endevours.

You guys are top notch at what you do.
It was always a great fight (when lag monster didn't eat the ships).
Wish I could have been on more ops personally, but play times didn't mesh with op times very well :)
Thanks for the experience MC.

Thank you Big Blue, this contract was most enjoyable, and full of firsts too. The requirement to always be alert, or else the risk of having 5-15 fighters following your ass around system, combined with a personal first of target-calling during the first fight (when all our FCs were lagged/jammed/warping out) made the contract one of which was unique.
Good luck in your future endeavors.
