I cannot stress this enough. The guy that did the sound editing for this clip should do the ingame sounds. Yeah they were "borrowed" samples but the concept. The combat SOUNDED REALLY COOL and not like "pfff,pfff" when you open fire and "poff" when something explodes.
Eve need a richer sample base for combat-orientated sounds, a bank that really does a modern computer sound system justice and one that will make your neighbours hate you

Yeah it's just a re-edit of EVE Never Fades and of No Other Destiny but it's a good edit, mainly as you can now properly hear the sound effects of the No Other Destiny bits

Psst... You could see those ships closing on earth were Gallente ones. Not so nice now, are they!
Video was pretty cool.
When EVE stops, the last ingame event should be the re-opening of the EVE gate, and we can invade earth. Now that would be damn fun. Hopefully a long way off though.

Like the E3 video that was a very cool little movie about EVE.
And exactly like the E3 video it is nothing like the reality of playing EVE. Combat simply doesn't look like that in-game. What do you normally see in a fight, whether it's PvE or PvP? You see little tiny flashing red squares, some distant, zoomed-out, silent (or very quiet) explosions and microscopic flashes of guns.
You get screen shakes from missile hits that bear no relation to the damage inflicted, you see numbers beside text names while you watch transverse velocities, you see damage numbers in a single, tiny, un-movable box that flash by too fast to be useful anyway, you watch numbers or some coloured bars representing your shield/armour/hull/ammo.
The drama and wonder and beauty of those videos simply doesn't exist in EVE for real and I think this is a crying shame. I know that if I saw those videos and then decided to try EVE out I'd be desperately disappointed with what the game actually offers in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I love EVE, no you can't have my stuff, but I think trying to sell it as something it isn't is a tragic mistake and I sincerely hope that CCP have some ideas about how to try acheiving some of the drama, wonder and beauty that exists in those videos.

Agreed.. even CCP have to give new players a "fake" idea of combat in eve to get them hooked..

Sounds like you are choosing to play EVE that way. Take a step INTO the game, don't worry about all your silly numbers, zoom in and experience EVE to it's fullest. Have faith in your tank, ignore your UI and don't knock a video because you tend to play EVE like it's a spreadsheet.

Oh come on, don't be disingenuous. I do use "look-at" and zooming in and camera controls when I'm PvEing (relieves the boredom) and EVE still looks nothing like that.
And you find me one person who regularly experiences PvP that looks like that?
The fact is that EVE is a highly abstract game and the entire UI, combat mechanic and game design makes it extremely difficult to play any other way. I've watched a lot of FRAPS vids of other people's EVE playing and NOBODY plays in a way that looks like those videos, and you know it full well.
I'm not saying I dislike EVE, I'm not saying I don't get into it, I love the fiction, I love the concept art, I love the look of the ships etc, I just wish there would be some attempt to make the game look more like those videos look.

Yeah okay wow. Most of the footage is nice, with the CCP office ones being extra nice, but everyone is "oooh" and "awe" -ing over the sounds which frankly we kinda bad.
1) Audio transitions were awful. Gawd were they bad.
2) All of those noises are in the game and in the stuff files that make up eve. (and are quite usefil in eve-vids)
But this goes to show you what someone can do once they get some decent footage. Stock footage ftw!

The problem with that is scalability, alot of people whould sub and the servers might not be able to handle it, im sure ccp has more than enough money to put up a tv advertisement.

my guess is the licence issue being in regards to the music.

I dont know anything about licensing and what not... So... I wouldnt want to surgest that any one put this in the shared folder of their preferd P2P client and label it something obvius that we could all find it as. Nope wouldnt want to surgest that to any one who has the video at all...

I don't know if it's ok to say this, but for the people who already saw this file on mytube, it's stored in you temporary internet files folder.
Just download any freeware FLV player and put the extension 'flv' on that file and you can watch it again.
So for me that file is now called, get video.flv and it's around 7.7mb.
Just don't distribute the file beacause it's copywrited.

Oh come on, don't be disingenuous. I do use "look-at" and zooming in and camera controls when I'm PvEing (relieves the boredom) and EVE still looks nothing like that.
And you find me one person who regularly experiences PvP that looks like that?
The fact is that EVE is a highly abstract game and the entire UI, combat mechanic and game design makes it extremely difficult to play any other way. I've watched a lot of FRAPS vids of other people's EVE playing and NOBODY plays in a way that looks like those videos, and you know it full well.
I'm not saying I dislike EVE, I'm not saying I don't get into it, I love the fiction, I love the concept art, I love the look of the ships etc, I just wish there would be some attempt to make the game look more like those videos look.
I started playing because of videos like this. When I got into the game, I was ecstatic to see that it wasn't just the flashy graphics that the video displayed, and it had much more depth.
The video got me in, but it was the game that kept me here.

My best guest,
is that the music was licenced for the aid with the intention of China only, and the ad may not be used outside China because of that, thus they can't put it up. everything else in it was more or less CCP stuff.
If thats the suitation, then you basically means the video will never be seen on these forums again and whoever has a copy in the computer are the lucky ones.

i doubt that is the case , in the UK we have programs that just show funny adverts from around the world ,its pretty obvious most of them were never meant to be shown outside there own country, alot of them have music from real bands btw

If it's the music that's giving the problem....
I have re-encoded the flv file to a normal avi file (divx) without the music. (same quality vid)
Ofcourse the music is a part of the video, it's a little more 'boring' now without it. 
Sooo.. what you say dev's? Is it ok to distribute it without music?

I'm not sure what is so good about this video. It has some nice scenery at the beginning, which is completely eve unrelated. The footage which is from eve is all taken from the new trailer, so nothing new there. The music is horrible. I only liked the last little bit with capital ships jumping to Earth. What was all the hype about?

If you know where to look you can still find the original version on the Internet.
I too am wondering what the deal is with this video. CCP was able to use it with their booth at GenCon this year (they also had a video trailer for the CCG), but apparently they are not able to release a distributable version at the moment.
So whats going on? Is it some licence that has not been acquired yet? Does CCP have future plans for the video (like some kind of advertisement spot) and so don't want to expose it to the public just yet? Anxious minds wish to know!
