What if you had each event in a different region? Each race could compete for there area, then the top 5 from each event meet for the finals.

I really hate to have to say this, but some real life events are going to keep me quite busy and I don't know if I will have time to coordinate such a complex event. I have to move, start a new job, and then go on Active Duty starting in July.
I would still like someone to do it and I will donate 15 million of my own money towards it.
If anyone with a little more freetime would be interested in taking over for this event, please post here or eve-mail me. Obviously the sponsors who have identified themselves will have to decide if they can trust you with their money and gear! I can definatley help out, but I cannot honestly run the show.
Sponsors: Any money that was given to me for the event has been returned. If someone does contact me about taking over this event, I will let you know who they are.

what about having a mini tournament , all frigs and noobs under 3 months , they all duke it out with t1 items
1 prize 50 mills
2 30 mills
3 10 mills
4 5 mills
5 3 mills
6 2 mills
this will be held in a 0,4 sec somewhere
with supervision of older players in a ss or planet
but as always time is a factor , who really wants to supervise such a thing
i would be happy to donate 15 mills for the couse and be there to refery , doubt any one else will though

Coming from a newish player (under 6 months), some things i think will benefeit new players more are :
ISK (obviously)
Mining Barges, retreivers etc
Connections books
Implants (speeds up training time)
Tutoring, by this i mean you help them understand things from dmg/resists for specific mobs to insta's to mining and be on hand to baby talk them through anything they want.
BC's/BS's
Top prize could be a corp/alliance invite

If you want to keep it restricted to true newbies, you should also require them to be a) older than 14 days (no trials) b) have reasonably standings towards some corp (i.e. they've run lv1 or lv2 missions for a while -> not so common for most alt chars).

use can flagging in 0.5, 30 newbies duking it out in 0.4 will end up them getting locked in lowsec. and in 0.5 people wanting to cause a rukus by using alts trying to pod noobies will get concorded. so a frig tourney would be good hand out say 250-400k to each entrant to cover the cost of the frig and fittings + a little extra rules should be t1 frigs only, no jammers. but tracking disruptors allowed same with damps no ecm drones but scout drones from an incursurs are allowed and only t1 gear allowed no named and ofc no smartbombs

I know for a fact that the powers that be in my corp (The Clearwater Society) are willing to donate for this, but they won't do so until we're certain of who's gonna run the show. Being a noob myself, i am short of ideas as to what to do to make it an interesting competition, but i'll gladly help if you guys need me for anything. So lemme know in game or by mail who's gonna run the show and we'll talk.

Great idea there!
I would love to donate either retriever, or a cruiser (I really think retrievers should be a prize as well.. or perhaps the ISK to choose between the barge to cruiser, contact me about it pls.
I also have an idea on how to make the egg hunt fun:
Make it in pod-race (star wars) style!
Meaning, you take it to say Jove 0.0 space, plot the course, have various items like suggested above (bpcs, implants) spread in various points of the race, but perhaps 30km from the gate, so if you decide you really want that implant or whatever is there - you will have to go for the can and loose time advantage perhaps.
Also you will be able to decide on how to fit your Ibis - since contestants will be able to attack you with their ibises - you might want to mount WCS, or plate, or some guns....
This will force the racers to think, if they attack someone who is too close to them, they might be able to knock him out of the race, but loose at the very least 30 secs.
So, we would have really an interesting competition 
PS: Perhaps instead of implants and bpcs in the cans - put bookmarks which later lead to where it is located in empire (would allow shiploss during competition without loosing some prizes in cargo).
How is that idea?
