High Drag Podcaster RandomMcNally, Podside's FrFrmpukin and CluelessSpaceNerds podcast are hosting a meet up for all players of EvE online.
This meetup will be held in Des Monies, Iowa. On the weekend of August 29 - 30, 2014. The exact location and schedule of events has yet to be determined.
We hope all the Midwestern players out there will look into trying to join us on either Friday, Saturday or both. The plan is to keep the costs to a minimum for those attending, so expensive events will not be part of the plan. Friday evening meet up at a local bar/restaurant for a drinks and some food. Saturday tentatively planning to fire up the grill, tap the keg(always tapped) and sit around a nice private pool and BS about how great we all are and how only those in attendance have the intelligence to fix all of the worlds problems by playing EvE online.
So pencil in the date and check back here or on any of the 3 podcasts for updates and final locations.

UPDATE
Friday night we will meet up at a local Bar/Restaurant in downtown Des Moines. We can hit up some food and drinks. We can just do introductions as people filter in, like Bronya did in Milwaukee. There are also several fun bars and clubs downtown for those who want to hit up the late night nightlife. I will get a group rate set up at the cheapest motel in the downtown area. I will also set up a group rate at a hotel in Altoona, IA right off of I-80.
Saturday we have the use of a nice private pool in Altoona, IA for some grilling out, more eve talk, and of course drinks.
For those of you on a tight budget, I am currently working on an option.

Please if you think you may try to make it please reply to this thread so we can get a rough estimate of those who will try to attend. It will help me to make plans to help keep the costs down for all.

First off, sorry it has been so long since i have updated you all. RL and my laziness got me there a bit.
The tentative plan:
Friday Aug 29
If your travels bring you to the area this night Rafe Collins and DomanarK of Clueless Space Nerds will be hanging out at Mickey Finns Pub in Des Moines, IA. This is located on the Northwest side of Des Moines. Address: 7020 Douglas Ave.
Saturday Aug 30
We will meet at the Hessen Haus located in the Downtown Des Moines area. Address: 101 4th Street
Good German style food and lots of beer choices.

We will get to the restaurant around 6 pm {local time} and get a spot secured for group. So bring you appetites, your drinking hats and your EvE stories with you and we will have some fun.
Motels in the area:
Best Western in West Des Moines rates around 90$ 515-221-2345
Days Inn in West Des Moines rates around 80$
These are good options if you are coming from west or south.
Baymont Inn in Des Moines rates around 66$ 515-265-4777
Good option if you are coming from the north or east.
Hoilday Inn Downtown Des Moines rates around 120$ 515-243-9132
Good option from any direction. A little more expensive, but very close to Hessen Haus.
Hope to see many of you mid-westerners, of course we will take peeps from anywhere.......

No luck finding a cheap hotel with smoking rooms available. Might have to bite the bullet and do the smoke walk. Sorry
