So I was wondering what is the most popular type of dread, and which ever that is, if you had a medium caldari pos (highest cpu) and loaded on 5 shield hardering arrays with the damage type of the most popular dread, and assuming the most popular type of dread attacked your POS. how many dreads do you think your could tank with that setup? I know there a lot of "if's" here, but i just wanted to get a ballpark number/idea of how well you could hold out.

short answer, not enough
longer answer, with the caldari and minmatar dreads able to switch ammos for different dmg types, it would just cause their logistics train to actually do more work at which point they want to kill it more
smalls and mediums don't stand up will to dreads, hell smalls don't stand up well to BS's ----------------------------------------- TCC Diplomatic core + combat pilot talk or shoot, makes no difference to me :) |

even large POSes have no chance against 2 or more dreads(yes dreads can fit hardener :) )but 2 dreads attacking a large POS with hardeners should take them a while :P , only way atm to have a chance is to defend the POS with a fleet. |

as this game is not ment to be played afk/offline POSes will never stand a real chance against their nemesis (beeing dreads). fit 8 hardeners (2 for each damage type) and you just bought yourself a +300% time modifier to react on attacks.

Its good this way. AFK pos's are not good for the game.

Lareg pos makes it very easy for the friendly battleship fleet to pop enemie dreads. Asulting dreads have this dissadvantages: 1.they'r not going anywere. Sieged 2.They taking damage (heavy damage) 3.The can't shoot moving bs past 60km 4.Asulting friendly bs fleet has hard time supporting them if there's large guns in the pos.
So if u have any kind of defending fleet u can overpower the dread's tank and blow them to oblivion. Ofc u have to deal with defending fleet first.
Pos are hard enaugh to asult atm if there's any kind of defending fleet.

large pos with good setup and some carriers for defence will work nicely too.

If you are short on numbers, NOSing BS are the easiest way to kill dreads. As mentioned, they're unable to leave, and they're taking heavy damage. Dreads cap is usually very well balanced, it doesn't take a lot to break there tank and let the POS do the rest.

I tought dread in siege mode is invulnerable to EW and cap draining, and unable to receive support in a form of shield/energy/armor transfers as well. Are you talking about unsieged dread ran out of strontium?

Edited by: Sonreir on 19/06/2006 11:46:28 NOS and Neuts do work on Sieged Dreads last time we tested it. Also, a good setup on a POS can threaten attacking Dreads in numbers less than 3 or 4.

Pretty sure any dread can be Nossed/Neuted - - - - - - - - - -

I see that working if the POS you're attacking is a Death Star. Otherwise I don't see it happening.
Nos and Neut 4tw though. That's the only sure fire way I see of kicking down a dread in a small fleet of BS. Nosadom all the way.
EDIT: typo =/

And don't forget that control towers enter 'invincible mode' when the field goes down. That's where strontium (or whatever it's called) comes into play for POS's.
