Hello,
Taking a look from time to time at those combat videos you can find at evefiles.com, something really puzzles me: how do corporations deal with the massive loss of vessels all those skirmishes and battles generate?
I mean, for me, my best fighting ship and my implants are priceless. I just can't afford to lose them. When I see those guys dying so much and losing sometimes several ships (most often VERY costly ones) in the same battle, I just don't get it... Where do you get the money for the clones and the replacement ships? Does this means that 90% of the people in corporations mine and manufacture around the clock so a selected few can dock back 10 times a day and just say:
"Damnit, I lost my Uber HAC again, I need a new one pronto, and don't forget to check oil..." ?
Thank you to enlighten me :) Ambre,

1) Big fights don't happen all that often.
2) Making isk is really quite easy once you get the hang of it (empire or 0.0), it only takes a few hours to replace a BS loss.
3) It's not a waste that's what the ships are for

Played about an two-three hours last night, low-intensity rat hunting in 0.0. Made 30m and an indy of loot to build stuff from.
That's how.

4) If you know you're likely to get podded, don't have implants (either just don't have them, or use jump clones)

In my corp, we have a simple recruitment policy for non 0.0 people. They get podded on the first day after they joined. Seems to make them a better soldier after losing their implants. Must be bugged implants IMHO because with implants, they tend to lose more.
Ships? I only use T1s. Can only afford cooking oil. ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

ships are there to fight in and the big fights come once every few months. the last big war i was in G/IRON vs ASCN i lost over 20 ships in the space of a week due to fleet fighting 23-7, yes this hurt my wallet but i had 40 ships to fight with and when the war was over i just got back to making isk so i could fight again. I always keep enough ships to loose one every day of the month and still have ships left at the end of the month.

It's rather simple really.
What you do is that instead of losing ships you kill the ships of your enemy. That way, all you have to do is to stock up on ammo every now and then

What he says. Sometimes you have to run rather than fight when the odds are going to be wrong. It..happens.

sometimes all you can do is stay and fight. Every time i loose a BS i get 108 milion back i buy a new raven for 90 mill spend 18 mill on fittings for it and 30 mill on insurance so i have a net loss of 30 mill per BS i loose. if i loose 10 BS that means i have only lost 300 mill worth of assets. when you live in 0.0 you can make 300 million in 2 or 3 days from rat bounty and refining loot.
I fly a scorpion so am always in the first few targetted i know i will be due to the effectivness of a scorp in a big fleet. Also G/IRON primary people warping into the battle as they will lag for a few seconds and have to turn arround to allign to a safe spot so its easy to pick them off as in a big fleet a ship will survive 1 or 2 vollies.
when fighting blob warfare its not how good you are it when are you going to be called primary because when its your time to be shot at you better be alligned and at full speed and your mouse hovering above the warp button or you will be in your pod.
To summerise all the above gibberish i have wrote. loosing a ship only costs a small amount of isk and can be replaced quickly and you should have a large supply anyway. You dont kill an alliance or corp by just killing more ships than it kills of you

Plus every time a ship blows up and needs to be replaced, money goes into the pocket of an Industrialist who builds ships. Explosions keep the economy rolling.

working together also greatly increases your isk making. If it takes you 3minutes to kill an npc bs, you and someone else together will drop it in less than half the time, so ratting or missions will take alot less time to do, regardless of isk sharing. Mining (yuck) is also done much better and faster in groups especially with a dedicated hauler or two. _______

you can make 250m a day if you can sit at your comp for 16 hours and NPC in 0.0 (and yes it's worth it )
