Try to slingshot to get them away, most people just keep at range/ or orbit, if your ship can pull around 1.5 km/s getting away is quite doable.
Align to your escape point, then burn in the opposite direction, when the kiter's moving roughly in the same direction as yours, align again to your escape point and overheat, often you'll get past the 24 Km mark and slip away, if they didn't OH their point in time.
You can try the opposite manouver as well and try getting them web, altough it's much harder |

With the prevalence of kiting ships these days, especially a few months ago or so and all the kiting condors and **** running around, i basically gave up on close range brawlers. I love brawling however, so i evolved my tactics more towards scram kiting/brawling, usually with a rail Comet or Incursus. Bonus with these is that u can load Spike or Fed navy lead and at least have a decent chance of driving off a kiter like a slicer and condor. Ofc sometimes wen caught in an ab ship by a kiter u are boned no matter how much slingshotting etc u do, but thts the risk u take wen u decide to take ur brawling ship out. Other tactics u can try aswell are try and get them to hang up on structures ie if in an asteroid belt fly thru the belt and if they bounce off a roid or some **** u can sometimes get away or kill them. Remember aswell that the kiter has his own set of problems, kiting is a skill intensive style to do well, and he is prob battling cap issues on top of making sure he stays in the sweet spot for damage application and range control, if he has links tho his job is far easier.

150mm rails are great for that..
Even if you can't kill something you can very often pressure kiters enough to make them skittish and make them leave point range of you. BYDI recruitment closed-ish |

Go inside the plex, stay at 0 with ab runing, scram web heat, when they land spawm aproach and lock.
If they are already in ,go to another plex and wait for them there. "Oh, you think nullsec is your ally. But you merely adopted nullsec; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!"

PS. If you warp to a acc gate of a plex, and the kiter is waiting for you there at range, spawm activate on the gate, you will slide inside no matter how low his locking range is.
Ex you are in a atron in warp to a plex gate, a Crow with a 1 second lock time is waiting at range, if you spawm activate on the gate dosent matter what lock time he has, you will always go in 100% without being locked. (dosent matter if it takes 4 5 seconds to automaticaly alig.warp as long as you spawm activate ) "Oh, you think nullsec is your ally. But you merely adopted nullsec; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!"

If they are already in ,go to another plex and wait for them there. Small tweak: overheat ab too, but leave it off (else it will burn out); activate it immediately after hitting approach.
Also: the faster lock times of the 'attack' frigates (atron/condor/executioneer/slasher) increase chances of success. On the contrary, it will hardly ever work (against a frig) with the lowish scan res of AFs, dessies and above (unless you rock a sebo of course). |
