yes! I agree, infact... i think they should make your ship turn into a ghost once its dead, and your pod into a ghost to (but you can still travel in it, and not have lost any implants)... then you you could like, 'rise' in the nearest station and go back to your ghost ship, then when everyones gone you can resurrect your ship and fly off... with all your fittings intact!!
and also next time, tick the 'I dont play PvP' box so you can travel through 0.0 to your hearts content and no-one can even lock your ship, and you can hunt rats and mine top end minerals at no risk... and then when you skill up to level 60 you can start a new character...... etc.....
