Been wondering about all fleet/navy bs's and it goes without saying that fleet tempest has the lowest upgrades of them all. CNR gets additional launcher cause raven has 6 of those... amarr already got 8 guns and mega 7 guns ... why not give additional turret hardpoint for the tempest and boost its cap a lil ? :D ebil

you have to be joking.
The Fleet 'pest is a beast of war. A tempest should be able to school a raven alone. (given raven is near tempest's optimal) A fleet tempest should be more than a match for a CNR. I would say the only ship that can outgun the Fleet temp is the Machariel.
but thats just my opinion. boost her more? why the hell not

Needs more cpu imo. I'm running low on cpu when fitting a regular tempest, and fleet temp has 1 mid more ;s ..

All fleet ships follow a certain template.
Same fittings as their normal version +1 (something) +shields +armour slight changes to agility/mass/sensor strength/etc
Hence, giving the fleetpest more CPU or cap would be breaking the mould.
The problem is, as the ship least able to fit itself to begin with, an extra slot is even harder to make use of - also, with Minnie being the least tankworthy race, we gain the least from the hitpoint bonuses.
The are problems that we face every day though, so it's no different with the fleetpest. Personally, I find the extra mid useful as I can mount a full 3 tracking mods, full 3 damage mods, and still find room for damps. The extra HP I have lets me drop the DCU I usually carry for an extra low to fit it all. For comparison, here's my fleet setups:
Standard Tempest
6x 1400mm II, 2x random stuff 3x Sensor Booster II, 2x Tracking Comp II 3x Gyro II, 1x Tracking Enhancer II, 1x DCU II, 1x RCU I
Fleet Tempest
6x 1400mm II, 2x random stuff 3x Sensor Booster II, 1x Tracking Comp II, 2x Sensor Damp II 3x Gyro II, 2x Tracking Enhancer II, 1x RCU I

Tempest is not the lowest upgrades, most of them are very similar. They all get a 50% hp increase and en extra slot. They also all get an increase in mass and volume. Raven is the exception as it gets another launcher hardpoint instead of an extra slot. They all seem pretty ballanced to me. About the extra turret on the fleet tempest, No, it will then out dps the navy megathron at close range and use no cap to do it. This would not be fair to the players who have spent a small fortune on a ship that is supose to be the king of pointblank warefare(Vindicator asside).

Ive quoted this, since I think it's a very good example of just how much the general eve population understands game balance.

You have no idea what you are talking about... Sorry for being blunt. Navy raven can fit 7 launchers... That makes for a huge boost in dps.
The extra midslot on the fleet tempest is nice in theory, but Tempests already are very tight on cpu for typical setups... One more midslot is not very useful when you don't have the cpu to fit much in it. Nice shield tanking modules or ew modules take more CPU that you could get out of implants, too, so you'd be forced to put in a corpoc and lose a low slot... Definitely, the fleet tempest could use some reworking... It might work fine for NPC'ing... but I'd never use one in pvp even if I could afford it. Ison's notches more notches |

By "fleet" do you mean just the republic fleet ships? Or empire faction ships in general?
Either way:
Stabber fleet issue (which is more like a cross between a rupture and a stabber) has more cpu than either the rupture or stabber, though less grid than a rutpure.
Raven Navy Issue has 20 more CPU than standard Raven.
Caracal Navy Issue has two extra low slots and an extra highslot, along with 220 more grid compared to regular Caracal o_O.

Actually there is... caldari 4tw, rest 4tl. Why doesn't vindicator gets more cpu and navy thron more pg? Or maybe fleet pest more cpu (machariel gets 40% speed boost... ) --------- Dead already? |

No, the reason is because the BPCs are currently farmable in low-sec COSMOS missions.

The Fleet Tempest dropped to 500-600 mil because of certain exploitable COSMOS missions.

the DPS is formidable, but its by no means 2 battleships rolled into one or anything like that.
Yes, you will need a CPU. (took a look at my setup to confirm)
'Win' Setup will look nothing like testy's (though i like his)
now you have nice killboard stats, but you have to do better than that to impress OR convince me... and suggesting i have no idea what i'm talking about? thats just rude, not blunt. I put alot more faith in a versitile faction ship like the fleet temp/ mach/ vindi, as opposed to a more than predictable missile spammer. (no matter how expensive). midslot nice in theory? its really on the ship, check it out. not only that, you can put any mod in there your heart desires (just make sure you fit the 650's not 800's or you will never have the cpu to make a good setup).
but i never expect a raven lover to even understand a tempest, more or less hold a candle to it in battle.
and on another note. these ships are all about owning the pvp field imho. just takes the balls to undock (and it takes alot i admit) and the fact YOU would never use one in pvp... well i guess thats on you
now if we are done w/ personal attacks. back to good setup. remember, she may be tight on CPU but 10x easier to fit than a gila. dont want to Totally give you my setup, but like i said, you want 650's, NEED cap injector, dont forget damage mods and dont waste your mids on what your drone bay can take care of
edit to add: ok one more hint.... is that dinner burning or do i smell an Xlrg CL5?
