I kinda doubt a BS will be given a resist bonus or tanking bonus.

Not that much for Amarr ships.
It would make Mega Beams a viable weapon for long-range fights. It would also allow Amarr BS users to use those fantastically non-damaging radio cristals in place of Aurora lenses.

8/6/5 7 Turret Hardpoints 5% Optimal per level 5% RoF per level
Although you never know, they could give us a droneboat, or a dedicated missile boat, or even an EW boat (/me does circle of protection:target painters). We are the generalist race, after all. I don' think a battleship will ever see a speed bonus - not that I wouldn't be happy to be proved wrong :)
I'd put money on them giving us 6/5 mid/low, though, whatever we get. We're seeing more of a trend to that with newer Minmatar ships recently.
Edit: Oh, and personally, I hate range bonuses on battleships :(

Have you seen the penalty for using Javelin ammo? That is the T2 Ammo no Caldari user can shoot. The added damage is not worth that much loss of defense.
I was using Javelin for range reference but I agree, you wouldn't have shield left with 8 guns javelin fitted. As for the person who said it would be overpowered with 10% optimal (trust me, i'm not hoping for this bonus, i'd rather have damage but that's the gallente's playground), i doubt you've ever been shot with railguns, overall they have the lowest damage modifier of any gun with their only benefit being extreme range optimals.
another note to add: 10% optimal, 5% resists is what i THINK it's gonna be (looking at the other railboats they have), this is neither a wishlist nor certainty.

I really hope in more meds than lows so we'll have the first minni bs for shield tanking (I use tempest for that atm). Even 8/7/4 will be nice, imo.

mmm not really hybrid have the highest optimal range and probably is the highest range sniper, heard of mega sniping at over 300km
a 50% to optimal will probably boost the max range by around 30% so even in your example if a mega now have a battlerange of 220km a similar ship with a 50% to optimal will be close to 300km wich is quite a big difference.
doesn't matter since you can't lock over 250km
I think amarr will get cap reduction and resistance bonus
