Quote: The truth is Mr/Mrs/Miss Pirate there are more of us Carebear's than you. And many carebears want a bit more fun and excitement. Even though you maybe more skilled in Combat, and know/use expolits overtime I suspect you will be driven futher away from empire space as we move in to expand. ... PS I got a good clone.
I hope you do have a good clone. You'll need it. Most furbearers fold at the first bloody nose.
The people in empire space won't carry on a war like VA/NVA for weeks on end, reducing both sides to cruisers and frigates. They won't tolerate hours after hours of wild goose chases with reported pirate sighting, only to fall prey to the real attacks when the pirates decide to bring it.
Wait for the furbearers to flock to your standard. You'll get a pretty good group too. They're like the peasants in Medieval: Total War. Great for numbers and track teams. Lousy for actually fighting the battle to the end.

You got TURRET SLOTS on your BATTLEship, your supposed to equip WEAPONS and USE them on PLAYERS to DEFEND YOURSELF. unequip your mining lasers, get some guns and shoot back, come whining you can't go anywhere with a battleship.. the lamest thing I have ever heard of.
Please do us all a favor and don't you ever post here again.

Quote: Why are all the self-described carebears goth-looking minmatars?
Same reason all the kids today that dress in black and wear ghost-white makeup with black fingernails fall down and cry whenever a jock flexes too fast in their direction. "All about the visual" tee hee!
As for Carebears <-- every time I see this, I giggle to myself. Now that I actually know what one is, I am certain that is the PERFECT name for it. Every MMOG has em. Personally, I think EVE is totally PvP, and there are some systems that just make that a little harder, so PK'ers don't bother... imagine if it WAS worth their time?
I'll be a carebear for a while. Not really hiding out to be 'safe', I just know what it takes to life in the badlands, and am smart enough to know unless they are all my friends, I'd better avoid them for a while longer.

Please explain the word carebear... is it meant to describe an average player who doesn't happen to have alot of PVP experience, or just the very vocal examples of those average players? ;) ----------------------------------------------- My Ideas: Drones wish list and NPC crew members |

Edited by: Sinsemillia on 29/09/2003 16:05:01 You are right, every part of 0.0 is full of real nasty monsters which have no furr, just like 0.4 - 0.1's. Better stip to strip mining Yulai, afteral you really dont want to have to fit any turrets to your wonderful battleship.
Damn these carebears. Does their whole eve existance revolve around staring at rocks? You disgrace LFC with your cowardice. A proud member of the Concord Waste Recovery Team |

Imo carebears are those ***** miners who sit in 1.0 space everyday of the week mining scordite, because they have yet to grow the ballz to explore 0.4 and lower systems. They mine into jettisoned cans because they are too stupid to know otherwise, they cry alot, talk alot of tearful smack and usually end up commiting suicide to the local Concord protection unit. Do not underestimate the power of furr! If they get their way, EVE will be turned into a Mining sim..... A proud member of the Concord Waste Recovery Team |

I don't apply the word "Carebear" to someone that doesn't have a lot of PvP experience. I apply it to those that detest it to the point that they campaign for the removal of it, regardless of cost.
Those people trying to push into 0.0 space and getting rebuffed aren't "Carebears". Those that don't even make the attempt and choose to campaign for sec hits in non-empire space and empire military are people whose cruisers are lined with fur and filled with stuffing.

I have worked damn hard to get my first Moa, I have been to 0.0 space for NPC combat and had no problems with them except for some hull damage. Nice loot and bounty. After some time I lost my Moa to a pod killer/s when I tired to run a blockade. Nearly made it. Sure I was mad as hell but it has not put me off going to 0.0 space. Just got to be more careful next time. I now have a BS, and yes it is fully armed, and insured.
Whilst I am not a fool to think that I can take on a fleet of pirates all on my own. As a member of a group I will assist in defending that group against agression, meeting force with force.
I am no coward, your comments however suggest that you are indeed such a person. I look forward to proving that point when we next meet.

Am I missing something? I've gone to 0.0 space to pick up some items that I couldn't find in high-security areas ... never had a problem.
There's thousands of systems you can go to ... just don't go to the ones camped by pirates if you don't want to ...

Try using the F10 key rather than flying directly into a blockade maybe?

Alliances or NAPs w/ those in control or who have physical / political influence helps. Read the forums and you'll learn who the mouthpieces of each alliance is. But just because you may have an alliance or a "pass" to enter an area of space (or not) doesn't mean you are safe. 0.0 is never safe and that's the way it will always be (hopefully). If you watch your back and treat strangers as strangers (with quiet mistrust and not open aggression) then you will go a long way in surviving your forays into the badlands of non-empire space. On a personal observation.. A "carebear" is someone who abhors risk and vocally condemns any piece of game play that impeds on their "risk free" gaming experience. Being foolhardy (or just plain stupid) doesn't make you l33t either. So I don't think that anyone who has eeked a living in empire space is necessarily a carebear....
