Ok, Many of us have been carebears for sometime. Quite happy to mine and trade in relativly safe space. We have done quite well. Killed a few NPC's, made a few million, got a nice battleship. Most of us are in small corps and we want to expand, move on into to the bad lands but wait we can't.
We are now advised you can't go to these locations cos there is a war going on and you will be shot on site. So we try another way, blockaded, another, is blockaded and we lose a few ships or we pay a massive toll. Quite frankly we are screwed. We can't go round, we can't go through, help we are trapped in Empire space.
What Options do we have?
Join a mega Corp. No thanks, work for one in Real Life, give me a break.
Take a risk and run the blockade. Have done, several times. Lost. (Can I have my corpse back please)
Unite. Maybe. Ok Any small Corps based around the Sinq region want to take a risk and move into the bad lands. Please EveMail me or leave a reply and my ingame char may be in touch.
Allinace. Maybe we could join an allinace. Question is how and what would we have to do. Please let me know?
Any other advice players/corps would be willing to give would be welcome.

I'm in the Sing Region and yes, I'd be willing to talk about options and perhaps form an alliance....
Personally I think official alliances (aka DAOC) are the one thing that's missing from this game that would make the most difference in a possitive way...
An alliance with closed chat channels and perhaps even a shared hanger, would give small corps the ability to band together and deal with issues like this.... while not loosing their identities.

You dont stand a snowballs chance in hell of having any sort of hegemony in the badlands, and thats just due to the Alliances controlling the regions.
I'm sorry to say, but unless you either garner a huge force and blast your way in, you wont be going to 0.0 (thats not even considering you would have to have the capital on hand to SURVIVE there). Your only other option is to join an alliance, but thats rather unlikely as most are full, and if they arent, you need to be a fairly large corp before they give you membership.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Oh, I forgot, you could always go to Venal. Its currently in a large war, but hey, if you join the right side and they win, you have membership
(P.S. the right side is with Jade. Ragnar is a tyrant)

Quite honestly, you made your bed. Now lay in it.
The cries of the carebears, which you admit to being yourself, were the motivation behind the ejection of the baddies into the wildlands. Problem is, nobody ever stopped to consider:
1) While they were hanging around Empire space, they were too busy to put any concerted effort into blockades outside of it.
2) How powerful they'd grow out there.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

Hahahah. Ok, let me get this straight. First you carebears whine to CCP that you can't go AFK for hours straight and come back without a scratch. Boom, in comes UBER CONCORD and sentry guns at EVERY SINGLE GATE FROM 1.0 TO 0.0. Anyone who has ANY type of negative rating is suddenly pushed out of Empire space. Carebears all cheer, "YAY we win! We can AFK mine in peace!".
Is there ANY wonder why you carebears keep running into packs of ******* ANGRY BATTLESHIPS as soon as you leave "safe space"? You pushed out everyone who didn't conform to YOUR playstyle. Now deal with it. No sentry guns, no Concord, and no positive sec rating to hide behind.

Might I suggest the Khanid/JK-FIX regions? This is one of the few, if last regions of space not controlled, and open to free travel and trade. It is maintained by the CFS Alliance. CFS is a friendly alliance of corporations who attempt to keep the region(s) free of pirate activity, so that one of the last "Unclaimed" pieces of non-empire space can stay free for anyone.

If you want to explore none empire space (mine kill rats etc)Khanid and JK-FIX is open to all who behave themselves. The CFS have sworn to keep it this way.
However, exceptions might be made in the case of Kopites

Making an alliance of small corps can work just has to be done properly.
First form the alliance and see who is around, get them to know each other and assess the value of each corp. Set up a common alliance channel and chat with each other.
Build up resources, with megacyte prices and its rareity its just as profitable to mine trit to isogen. If you just stockpiled awhile and built spare ships to use then you make going out into 0.0 space more worthwhile as any losses can be quickly replaced to keep you going.
Of course this is a big effort. But getting supply lines in order first should help in the future. If you wanna blast your way into 0.0 space stockpile minerals will help.
OR...
The best option for everyone...
Mobile refineries, hangers, Factories etc will be out in about 1 months time. So during that time stockpile minerals to build these things. When they do get implemented you will have the resources to build them strait away. Sell a percentage of your minerals and stockpile cash.
At some point in time the regions with stations will not be the only worthwhile areas to live in.
Find a good far out of the way area, set up a few key personal with mobile things and mine good minerals to your hearts content.
Smart planning and a vision of the future can overcome alot of obsticles.
So form a small alliance and stockpile in preperation. Then out of the blue you maybe more powerfull than expected cause no one knew you were around...

This hate CFS bull**** is sounding more and more hollow to say the least.
The wellknown DIE CFS DIE thread was created only hours after some wellknown pirate battleship pilots (Dread Lord, Janus Drake, Tosha to name a few) were toasted by our hunter squads, it was a good day for our carebear space.
In this thread a noobcorp person under a false corpname claimed to have been attacked and several friends had allegedly been attacked.
These friends were never named and no attack or attacker was confirmed.
After a couple of pages of stonedeaf bull**** the first poster switched to yet another noobcorp alt and kept posting some.
To the defence of CFS came well over 20 people, half of who were not even in CFS and all these thanked us for good work and strong moral conduct, I would like to thank all you for taking the time to do so.
Since I am myself a military captain in CFS, I know first hand what kind of people we attack and destroy.
Thanks again to all who help support the good name of CFS and the isk-waisting patrols we regularly do to keep our space safe.

rofl :) hey, someone tell him it's a game, real world is outside ...
Soon or late, coalition for free space, like CFS, will have some clones in many other region. As soon as tracking system will be online, Bounty Hunter will be another way do isks far more easily than it is right now.
Be nice with casual players (you call it carebears), they outnumber you. they give more money than you to CCP. U excpected what ? Free for all space 1 jump after starter systems ? CCP don't care about rats, they are just "a part of the game", even if the true pirats (i mean real rats, no chiky who hide behind a pos ss to be a nice carebears at day and evil wanabee rats at night) worth some kind of respect since they spend their life in low secure system.

Dude, this is just like life outside the little room where your PC sits. Some areas out there are called "ghetto's", and that is where most criminals hang out.
You wouldn't dream of going there if you made an honest living would you? Sure you might make some more money selling drugs or guns, but sooner or later my friend, you fight the law, and the law wins.
So if we use the Eve-model on real society, i.e. anyone that crosses the boundary would take the risk of getting shot, wouldn't that sort things? You would have the odd incursion, but sooner or later people will get the message...
Eve has its strong points. |

Can't go into non-empire space? BULL****, I have been in non-empire space for 2 or 3 months and I'm a freelancer, everyone in my corp left to join Mega Corps. So just me and my rusty Thorax and you know what, the so called griefers don't bother me. An when they do come a hunting I put my tail between my legs and run for the closest gate or station.
Anyone can go to non-empire space, the thing is you can't go afk there for even a second or you will get toasted :-) An you should assume that anyone that warp into the same area you are in is a potential pirate at which point you either fight or run. 2005.01.21 05:09:06combatYour Tachyon Beam Laser I perfectly strikes Blood Priest, wrecking for 533.1 damage. |

playing on a pvp server you should expect to get ganked or ganged once in a while just be prepared and have your insurance paid up...and try not to take getting killed in a videogame so seriuos.

I agree PC Pirates shouldn't have easy access to Empire space, but in saying that you have to accept the fact they you should have full access to Non-Empire space.
Think about it, if you kill enough convoys you get attacked by that nations navy. Well I been killing NPC Angels since day 1 of the game and I currently am based in a Angel station???? If you want balance then when you come to 0.0 space the sentry guns there should attack you if you have a positive sec rating. I mean it's only fair....

How about you just shut up now? You've officially passed the point of annoyance for me. Your contributions to pretty much every thread recently has been to try and point out every single rumor and accusation you've heard of.
That's right, heard. Because you're nothing more than a tired little high security ore thief that's never experienced anything more than picking through the cargo containers of the stupid. When you grow a pair and actually go out to get some real experience, then you may have a place to talk and something more than a very passe catch phrase.
Till then, I hear there's some bship mining in Hulm. Don't you have something to do?

I dunno what you're talking about. Today I took an unarmed Rifter through the Wildlands and Curse without incident. Only trouble was when I got bored and ran the Alliance blockade and took a Bane torp in the tail. (I was like 'wow, look at all the pilots in that system, gotta take a look'). I mean, jeez, grab a frigate, update your clone and go out there, the map shows you where other pilots are. Worse thing that will happen is you're out a cheap ship and a clone. Do this a few times and you'll learn the ropes and can think about taking something bigger out to do whatever you want to do. Sure, everyone supports saving Einstein's brain, but when you put it in the body of a Great White Shark, suddenly you've "gone too far". |

Thanks for the feedback people. Some good ideas and honest (at times blunt) answers.
I must however correct a few misunderstandings.
Eve is NOT just a PvP game. Eve allows all players to do just about anything. Trade, Mine, NPC combat, manufacture, Corp Management and of course PvP. The fact that some us wanted to avoid PvP until we enjoyed other aspects of the game should not reflect on our ability to engage in PvP when required.
The truth is Mr/Mrs/Miss Pirate there are more of us Carebear's than you. And many carebears want a bit more fun and excitement. Even though you maybe more skilled in Combat, and know/use expolits overtime I suspect you will be driven futher away from empire space as we move in to expand.
In the early days most of you invested your skill points in combat/pilot skills whilst we looked at mining and production, so in combat terms you leaped ahead. Now with some high lvl skills taking 20+days to learn the skill gap is closing, so that edge you had is not as great as it was 2/3 months ago.
With CCP nerfing pirates I suspect fewer and fewer are becomming pirates and judging by the numbers that have left the game I suspect pirate numbers are falling.
CCP have made our life easier but not all carebears agree with the nerfs. However as someone said in this topic. You made your bed, you got to lie in it. Truer for a pirate than a Carebare i suspect.
I will see you all in 0.0 space, and I don't expect you to put the kettle on. Warm up your guns and lock your tagets. The Carebears are comming to see you.
PS I got a good clone.
