This has gone on log enough, it's hard enough to keep an exiting corp togather and it makes it impossible for a new corp to grow without megacyte. FIX or Respawn it or shut the damn servers down

Edited by: Booky on 27/09/2003 03:40:01 Helloooo, the solution is simple. Mine the crap out and then guard the system. If you can't do this then thats your problem. BTW, there are many other ways to get megacyte other than mining bistot. Just got to use that thing on top of your neck Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

hmmm, apart from the language and frustration the original poster shows, perhaps it is wise to perhaps consider that the roid spawn issue is LONG LONG LONG overdue on being fixed. Hell I asked about it like 2mos ago in a csm... same with loot tables... and was told simple fix, coming soon. Now all indications are that they have no intention of fixing the issue untill deep core mining enters game in next big patch. Great... can't wait for next big patch.. this last one was a beaut. Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

Madcow, just because people can get into a cruiser in one week doesn't mean they can use it very well or at all hence they havenĈt had the time to train there combat skills ect. So blow em up if you don't like it

Bah you don't need megacyte fir either of those fool. I put my alt in a crusier in 2 days. Just mining kernite and pyro.
Its going to be in a b-ship in 2 weeks just minin pyro in the thorax i bought for it.
Crusiers are cheap if you look around. Picked up a thorax for 3.5 million isk.

Wow 23 megacyte per trip. just think 100 trips and you get eneough mega for a Battle Ship. It does NOT matter if there are indeed other methods to get mega. The fact remains the roid system has been broken for over 2 months now and CCP has done absolutely NOTHING about it. In fact in the last CSM chat they acknowledged that it was broken but that they had NO intention of fixing it until they implimented deep core mining which happens to be 2 months away.
This attitude by CCP is what is ****ing most of the mining population off not the simple lack of ore. Yea there is good ore still out there but without the mobile refineries you may as well get your minerals from slag since the time to haul it 20-30 jumps is longer than multiple slag trips. And again CCP is talking another 2 months for mobile refineries. This is totally unacceptable.

The system is not that broken, it's just minorly out of whack.
When a corporation can still haul enough Megacyte to rebuild an entire mining fleet (multiple battleships and cruisers), I wouldn't call that scarce...
Yes a fix is needed, but it's not critical right now. It will result in higher ship prices, which as we all know is a good thing --

Ya I agree with chucky babes, using 2 bships I can mine out 1 roid field per day and then facking babies appear for weeks. Its not to bad for me but the poor bastards that visit my used roid fields I feel for. How in bloody hell can veld pop with like 80 units, it would take at least 3 months before reaching any value to mine again. Come on CCP the small low value ores need to re pop alot bigger and just that alone is an issue let alone the ark/bis problem. omber pops with 60 units=value (if you clean entire field) compire to veld 60 units=no value for months, so we cant even survive on noob ores. If on the other hand you give me a list of your fav mining locs I will be glad to visit them in turn to clean your roids.

I have to agree with that Last post, its taken nearly a month for Sortet to been close to mine-able again. Its my home base i prefer mining there as (normaly) nhas a nice balance of riods (omber has hit 6/7k per riod) this may not sound much buts it enough for my needs.
The major problem with calling for faster/larger spawning riods is balancing it, i'm sure ccp have been ardessing it, but if u keep *****ing like this, they'll give u "insta-riods" and u'll be ***** that the riods are to big then

Must agree, you can sit around and mine veldspar and scordite and sell the trit and pyrite for well above NPC prices.
With a thorax and some skillz (no fun intended) you can have a stupid battleship within 50 hours, and then you're not haussing it, effective game time, risk free.
Keep on flaming, lamers.

Any way, obviously you arent in any of thealliances, or else youd all be just as ****ed off as he is. When you go into a belt and see 6 roids of bistot, then scan them to reveal they have 8 ore in them, its really annoying. But you havent seen bistot so eh keep on dreaming --

HMM. Another idiot who has no idea what he is talking about. First Chucky is NOT CEO of his corp I am and second if you would like to see how badly our corp is hurting come on out to Fountain and pay us a visit.
The fact of the matter is that: 1) The devs have admitted the roids are broken 2) They have also admitted they have absolutely NO plans to fix them until they introduce deep core mining.
This problem has existed for over 2 months now and for the devs to sit in CSM chat and tell us it is going to probably be another 2 months before they even address the issue is totally unnaceptable.
All the fanbois can put Chucky down all you like but he is absolutely correct in his original posting.

Quote: I hope megacyte stays rare I find it stupid seeing new people within a week in a cruiser and within a month in a battleship.
There is nothing wrong for people being in the first week in a cruiser and in a battleship in a month. Actually before the minerII and the astro skills people who mined with pasion could get battleship in 20 days and a cruiser in 5. Tops 25 days for a bship, not having to travel below 0.8 systems, then they introduced the small roid "bug", which it might not be a bug as I see it. I checked some belts earlier and now everythink I found, in a regular mined area, and I MEAN EVERYTHINK is a tinny roid, respawning back as tinny again.. All that in 0.0..
NICE FEATURE CCP GETTING ALL THE NOOBS GEARED UP FOR THE 0.0 TREASURE HUNT AND WHEN THEY GET THERE THEY WILL FIND JACK SQUAT! NOT EVEN PLAGIOCLASE HAH??!!!
Who else has spoted the same problem since the patch? Now all are tinny!

Is this for real? Because if it is, I would like to introduce them The deep core (subscription) canceling skill.
Takes only 5 minutes to train. With beingFedUp and f00kingTired attributes to 14. There are also implants that acompany them, they are called nerf boosts. They re given not by ordinary agents but by the game producers themselves as gifts for the most difficult mission of all, to manage not to quit EVE Online eventualy.

Let's stay calm and stuff, no amount of ranting or yelling about the problem with the roids is going to get attention, but some simple news on how this affects your game play might be a little more in order.
I am a complete n00b to Eve Online. I started playing about 1 week ago, i'm no where close to having enough to afford a cruiser, but that's no big deal, my skills won't let me afford a cruiser quite yet either. I have progessed through a large rank of Frigates however, and have spent about 50% of my online time mining, the other 50% running things around from place to place for my agent.
I'm having fun, but honostally, this might not be enough to keep me hooked and a paying member of this game. I started my MMPORG playing with Everquest, and quit because it started to go in a really weird direction. I played Anarchy Online after that, loving it, but quit becuase the bugs were so bad that the game was often totally unplayable. And now i'm in Eve.
And my newbie character notices that her new agent is in 0.5 space, with a 0.2 just a couple jumps away! So I get a mining frigate all ready, get a nice base camp setup in the system, and I begin to mine.
It's just like mining the 1.0 systems again, but even worse. Never have I located a single rock of anything more valuable then Omber. So what are my choices?
Mine 1.0 space, bring my industrial with extended cargo bays, target a huge chunk of Veldspar, go afk for 90mins, come back and make 120,000 ISK - 140,000 ISK. Or I can actively play the game and head for dangerous space...for no profit, in fact, for less profit, becuase I would have to make tons of small jumps with a ship able to keep the pirates off of her while also mining the rocks, and my industrial is simply not up to that task, obviousally.
The real issue here, to me, seems to be Risk Vs. Reward. Risk nothing, receive good reward. Risk everything, and get treated to asteriod belts that look just like the ones in the 1.0 systems, except much smaller.
Hoping someone from CCP is reading this and all, becuase I really like Eve, and this game might have enough to keep me around as a coustomer. Questions for CCP if I could be so bold as to ask for a response? I've talked to lots of friends online and read a lot here in the fourms, and I can't seem to find out one simple bit of info: Is the current situation with the Roids intended, or is it simply a bug? If's it's intented to be this way, are there plans on changing it? If it's totally a big, any ETA on getting things back to normal?
Thank you very much in advance, hoping a more calm post from a true confused newbie to the world of Eve might help towards finding the real story behind the asteroids.
