No, I'm not talking about system effects.
I'm talking about bombing the wormhole to create unique effects on it that last a set amount of time.
For example, when a ship tranverses said wormhole, it undergoes said effect.
Nuet bombs = capacitor loss as if the bomb just went off. Lasts 20 minutes. Stacks up to 3 times & 1 hr.
ECM bombs = causes timer before pilot can jump back. Each bomb effect adds a minute to timer. Stacks 3 times & lasts 30 minutes.
Kinetic bombs = temp increase total mass of by 100m. Lasts 4 hrs then wormhole reverts. Stacks 10 times.
Explosive bombs= increases jump mass by 50m upto a max of 1350 total for the wormhole. Lasts life of wormhole.
Thermal bombs = increases life of the hole by 1 hr. Stacks 8 times.
EM bombs = reduces jump mass by 100m. Stacks until jump mass is 150m. Lasts 2 hours. |

While were at it, we should invent a new bomb that destabalizes wormholes and forces them to close, but every ship within 15km get sucked into the hole, because you know... balance

But seriously, this time you didn't go far enough. Droping a bomb should create an old DD effect on the entire WH-system behind it. |

the mass of ships changes could be interesting with some balance. The "not jumping back for a minute" could also be entertaining, but have it on a timer of 5-10 minutes for the effect. Perhaps switch the void bomb to making it so noone could jump for 30 seconds and it only lasts for those 30 seconds. That way a bomber can catch a gang off a WH like someone could off a gate.
All in all probably could add some minor tactical play to the game.
Wth is with the butthurt by all the people in this thread. It wouldn't even affect 90% of players since most of us aren't WH dwellers. (maybe would change movign ships from high to null a bit, but i doubt that the mass changes woudl be that big a deal for moving a couple ships around) |

You might have missed the part where this Gǣtroll suggestionGǥ got moved out of the w-space forums. The OP is well known to us WH-people for his entertaining suggestions. I fear the broader audience in these forums might not get his weird sense of humor and I hate to explain WHY this is terribleGǪ Jokes are not the same if you have to explain em.

Wormholes are quite static in their mechanics. Allowing bombs to affect wormholes as such would break up the monotony & reliability. Dynamic situations tend to create the best enjoyment for both or in some cases 3-5 parties involved. This suggestion is mostly aimed at C4-C6 deep space. I should have clarified that. |

Actually, in the wormholes forum, decent suggestions related to W-space will often be discussed there. We love to hear good ideas that can actually benefit W-space.
In this thread, we're still waiting for the good idea part. The ISD was clearly being kind and generous in moving it and not closing it outright like the other troll threads by the same OP.
