Although none of this is confirmable, I would surmise that there is indeed at least a Jesus figure, though name and intent may have changed, as well as parallels to many things from the modern day Bible, as well as potentially a whole range of other religions.)

No, you are a religious nut that has lost his grip on reality and is making bold gestures to make the Amarr out as being Christian fundamentalists - while you may indeed be one of these unstable people, please go off and tout your message somewhere else. geesh the christians are getting restless again. . .
On the note of christianity and the Amarr. It would be safe to say that the Amarr religious and political structure is not based on Catholic or any post-reformation (protistant cults) form of social and political reprisentation. The notion of the subject, in relation to faith is far too fundamental and un-scientific to match these two epistemologies. If anyone wants to draw a comparison, look at Byzantium and the Greek Orthadox branch of the faith. In particular, the notion of the patriarch and the roll of the emporor in the Byzantine Empire. But this sort of discussion is not for this forum.

(Actually that type of discussion is for this forum ;)
Eastern orthodox is still "Catholic," in reference to Byzantium and such. The Amarr faith is most probably a mash of "evolved" Islam and Christianity, with potentially other religion's elements thrown in. It has after all been a great many years since the Eve-Gate collapsed.)

Edited by: Gaven Lok''ri on 01/07/2006 23:30:12 The Amarr empire is descended from nothing but itself.
((The Byzantine mixed with arab stuff is on target IMO, (of course as far as I know i was the first to suggest it) But go look up a thread in the library for that, "Amarr Language" went into it in depth, as this is not IC knowledge.))

((As much as I hate the use of parenthesis for OOC banter in what should be a completely in-character forum section, seriously, this crap has to stop. Don't add in real-world religion or politics into this game. The results will be out-of-place at best, and more likely in incite endless flamewars. So, in closing, we have a perfectly fine sci-fi setting as it is, with a neat fictional religion for the Amarr to play with, along with a few others to boot. Keep your own out-of-character religion out of this game, please.))

Maybe this war is the way to go, I dedicated so much of my life to re-unite the Khanid Kingdom with the Amarr Empire through my corporation "Relinquished" and where did it lead? No-where is where! |
