Anyone know how this works?
Have tried it on a ganged corp member...they lock me within 5km range and I switch on...expected to unlock him....was sure that I had enough to do the job, but nothing happened. The only animal that blushes, or needs to, is man. - Mark Twain |

they provide -8 to all sensor str types for a durantion of a sec or two within 5k, the other guy will then need to relock but only if his sensor str is LESS then 8 - frigs and low lvl crusers.

Yeah drones are what they'd be best at (or frigates)... but they aren't that good at drones either, because the drones relock so fast and the timer on the burst is too long. and then on most ships the medium slot is just too valuable.

Pretty crap then?
I was fighting some event players who were in cruisers called Basilisks...they seemed to be able to not break my scorpion's lock exactly, but they were able to stop weapons from firing, or the weapons I was firing were disengaged...any idea what mod is capable of doing this?

Edited by: MaiLina KaTar on 28/09/2003 12:09:23 That was either someone jamming you with 3 or more Phase Inverter ECMs or he used Sensor Dampeners. I think he used Dampeners because you loose your lock as you as you fire the next volley at him when someone is target-jamming you with ECMs.

Yea, bursts are crap.
Only energy vampires and damage control systems are ahead in the race for "most useless module".

Edited by: MaiLina KaTar on 29/09/2003 11:46:35 Yup, but those can be quite easily fixed.
Energy Neutralizers & "vampires": Improve the range. Energy Neutralizers shouldn¦t take as much energy than the energy you actually neutralize on the other ship. This way it just doesn¦t make sense. Why should one want to rip somebody¦s energy when it means that he will drain his own cap aswell? That would be the same as taking two guns and threatening to kill somebody with one of them while holding the second one to your own head with the intention of shooting your own brains out when you shoot the other guy Vampires are ok tho, they just need more range IMO.
ECM Burst: Make better versions with more burst-strength available. Those should eat more cap, CPU, powergrid of course.

A reply to the neutralizer post. There are some named neutralizers... I don't remember exact name... that do take less cap to activate than they take away. Otherwise if you have a ship with better cap. regen, or you aren't using a shield booster and hardners, or your guns take less cap. these can be good. If you set up your ship to recharge cap faster then your problem would be solved.

ECM burst are fine if used in the correct way - if you reduce the target to a strength of 8 or lower and stay in close
For getting drones of your back they work wonders
Just rem that most modules need to be used int he correct situation
