There is plenty of it in far away places - no where near stations. I have seen numerous systems in several different regions with lots of bistot with good amounts or ore reserved in them.
Go get it - with the price where its at now it is well worth the trouble imo.

Without regions names to back up these unlikely claims, I'd say your full of **** Even when you do find it you have to haul 16 jumps or to a refinery

There is obviously Megacyte out there, you'll just have to buy a fast ship and go-a-lookin out in 0.0 space for it.

geez chucky's lazy. i been hauling mega all day. will have a pile to sell tonight, 10k / unit. not much admittedly...maybe 350 - 400 units. but enough to make me happy.
just gotta be willing to work a bit. rare ore is supposed to be rare. ain't it? this isn't like DeBeers making diamonds *look* rare by restricting supply to boost prices.

Oh please! You people are all the same, you want everything for nothing. Here's a piece of info for you: getting what you want in these games takes effort, dedication and (yes i admit) a lot of patience.
If your willing to put in that effort, then you can do/have anything you desire. If you arent, then set yourself easier goals or play a game with a shorter lifespan.

Our corp has been overly patient since beta 5, we have lost a lot ships to bugs and exploits (non of which were ever replaced). Our corps main imcome was from Bistot and we don't like to spend 90% of game time just collecting ******* resourses.
Now hardly any logs in anymore and some have canceled there acounts So guess it don't ******* matter much now. So **** off!!!

Baby roids don't equal loads of bistot. It respawns every day - just becasue there are 20 babies in a system, does NOT mean there is loads of it.

Tentimes, that's not exactly true. Radius isn't 100% to go by. Currently my corp is mining out bistot roids no bigger than 89.7m radius with over 200 units in them. And roids at 91.0m+ radius with over 1000 units in them.
The only way to be sure is to use a roid scanner.

I don't mine and do minimal manufacturing so I have no need for it. Some of the locations are in very hostile territory btw.

As I said on another thread...we've (my corp) never had any trouble finding bistot.
Sure it's 18+ jumps out from station, but what's autopilot for :) 6 or so decent haulers can get 10k bist in a matter of hours.
Scout out a good system, and mine it to death. It might be a night of pure mining, but hey, Megacyte doesn't grow on trees..

Yep cao's right, there is tons of bistot out there, just not enough people mining it, so megacyte is high priced. and it will go higher the longer people dont mine it.
Think about this, a month or 2 ago, mega was alot cheaper because everyone was mostly in cruisers (max 200megacyte to build), but now everyone is getting battleships (2000-4000megacyte each) thats like 10x the ammount of a cruiser. So yes megacyte is alot more rare. Demand is high.
So if the people would quit complaining, and go mine some bistot instead, maybe the shortages wont be like they are. But i would prefer u dont mine it, i like selling mega for 10-12k each.

I found a couple of roids with 588 bistot in the other day, 10 jumps from a station (Curse), im no expert but judging by the size of bistot i'd say that was pretty big 
Our corp had a mining op out there, but we can't at the moment as we have found our office to be right in the middle of the Curse Alliance territory

Yes bist is out there, its just the logistics of organising a large-scale remote mining op is often prohibitive, especially with all the wars going on.
Having lots of indy pilots is the key to making an RMO work, and they are understandibly reticent to fly around in a warzone, as many of the above regions are these days.
Mobile refineries would help a great deal, but there are a lot of unresolved issues with deployables, particularly sentry guns (e.g. how to reliably program them with who to shoot at or not) which would be needed to defend any other kind of platform.
I can't help thinking an alternative might be needed in the meantime, such as a refining module even if its slow, inefficient, resource hungry etc. Hauling megacyte rather than bist would make an enormous difference to the feasibility of mining outlying regions.
*edit* I suppose a real easy quick fix would be to drip-feed some megacyte onto the NPC market (just so long as it doesn't always appear straight after daily DT of course).

I see lots of bist every day. In every system I go to. I can assure you that none of it has been touched for weeks either as there's never more than 10 people in the entire region - and none of us are mining  .
The catch? Well it's 20+ jumps from any station. Then again if I can "survive" out here hunting npcs (using large ammo) for days on end then I see no reason at all why a motivated corp could not carry out bist mining. Sure it'll take a couple of days to haul out the containers, but you either want mega or you don't.
As an aside, given that I've had 1k of mega on the market in Luminaire (at below the average price) for a couple of days I can only assume that people don't want it that badly.

Will you give me 20 mill then if I can find you ones with 1000 because I garuntee you I can bring you to at least 5 systems with Bistot roids that have over 1000 units in them. The closest to a station is 9 jumps the farthest is 12. I wouldn't make a bet like that because you WILL loose.

im quitting for many reasons, one of them being that we were getting refineries but we didnt get them.

I've got 5 rocks currently bookmarked my corp is mining, each with over 1000 units in them. That's from 3 fields out of more than 20 fields in the solar system we're mining.
I've bookmarked the rocks with 200+ in them for future reference, which brings the folder in which I keep the solar system's bookmarks to 13 bookmarks so far.

LOL. I personally found Black Lotus in Q-CAB2 mining bistot and after he ran away I shot up two cargo containers with 1,000 and 1,200 bistot in them respectively.
You, my friend, are the one talking out of your ass. Just go looking man I find bistot roids with 800+ in them all the time (whenever I want to mine the stuff).
