The ISS Navy is the 0.0 based corporate security unit of the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate alliance <ISS>.
The unit conducts offensive and defensive PvP operations both reactively in support of the ISS, and proactively against our enemies.
The ISS is a Top-5 alliance of over 1700 members - both a doorway for empire corporations into 0.0 space, and a driving force in the colonization of deep space. The alliance has built and maintains a number of public trade and factory outposts in Eve. ISS is a civilian alliance and aims to remain neutral in inter-alliance politics in Eve.
*********************************************************
Read more about ISS here, both ingame news and real world press coverage of the organisation.
*********************************************************
The goal of the ISS Navy is to protect the core assets of the ISS shareholders (the outposts) and the spacelanes leading to them. The ISS is targetted by a number of pirates and PvP organisations who remain KOS to the ISS Navy at all times.
As an organisation of some 150 pilots, we are looking to further define our strategic PvP capabilities, and have identified some key areas we are looking to further develop.
We have therefore decided to re-open public recruitment on a limited basis, closely linked to our current fleet needs. Pilots who match the following criterea are welcome to apply.
What we look for;
* Maturity and respect for your fellow pilots * A belief in what the ISS is trying to achieve in EVE * Minimum 5m skillpoints * Ventrilo - and a microphone * North American timezone players * We look for pilots of most shiptypes but especially the ability to pilot one of the following ships effectively, and be confident of its abilities and limitations in PvP;
- Tempest - Megathron - Armageddon - Interdictor
The ISSN offer the following benefits to our pilots;
* Free T1 frigates, cruisers, and battlecruisers for PvP * Our unique Financial Assistance Programme which provides ISK upfront for Battleships, Interdictors, and Covert Ops Cloaks * All T1 and a limited selection of T2 modules - free * Insurance re-imbursement on personal ships lost in PvP * 150 person voice server (Ventrilo) * PvP: Gang warfare, suicide ops, fleet, escort and camping operations * Access to ISS/ISSN forums * Free docking, repair, and jump clones at all ISS outposts * Access to some of the best NPCing and Mining in EVE, including complexes up to 10/10, for when you need your ISK * A long and healthy KOS (kill on sight) list * Active across all time zones
As you can tell, ISSN is quite a unique organisation in EVE - a PvP corp with a purpose, and comprehensive support for its members.
To apply, please travel to Agil, KDF-GY or IS-R7 and submit an application detailing which ships you can fly, and a brief summary of your EVE experience to date.
Please also be prepared to submit a log-in screenshot, and take part in an informal interview on Ventrilo. Please post any questions you have below, where an ISSN member will answer them for you.
Our selection criteria may change according to our on-going fleet requirements.
We look forward to welcoming you on board.

When you say North American timezone players what exactly do you mean ? Only players based in North America ? Only players that can play during certain hours of the day ?
Would a European player, that can play during ISSNs core/required hours still be elligible ?
Myself and a couple of friends living in England are looking for a Corporation to sign on with and ISSN sounds appealing. If there is any flexibility in the requirements listed then please let me know here... or throw an EVEmail to "Korvek V'Tar"
Thanks for your time.

It means we are especially looking for North American players. However we are open to any time zones. We are trying to fill in the time gaps in our player base and we specificly need more NA players to ensure a more consistant presence over a 23 hour period.

Yes, Hakk is right. We'd like to see more US timezone pilots in ISSN, but we're still interested in European pilots.

I'm sure any country within a similar timezone span as the US would do fine as well. South America, for example.

I might be very interested in this. I have been looking for an active pvp corp since coming back from the evil plains of WoW .
I have been in eve since very near the begining, my char is 3 years old few days ago, but I dont have the crazy skill points of some as I have taken many breaks.
I can fly a wide range of ships from all the races other than minimatar. I have just a shade under 20 million skill points and really wanna get into some proper pvp. I'll give you a shout in game when I get a sec.
Oh and as for timezones Im from the UK, but I work nights so have a vary varied play time and.

We are still looking for PvPers to join our ranks.
Attitude counts as well as experience, so even if you don't have 0.0 PvP exposure we can help shape you.
PvPing for the ISSN is to PvP at the very highest level - our targets choose us, not vice-versa, and they are always well equipped for the fights. This means we only engage other willing PvPers, some of the very best in EVE - no easy ganks here.

To be honest, we always pay more attention to someone's potential than actual number of skill points. 5m is a rough guide, just because our life is too tough for real nublets. However, if you feel confident in yourself and your ship, we are happy to teach people the PvP ropes.
We generally only fight other good PvPers, its the nature of our corporation - our KOS list is all the corps who have chosen to shoot ISS. No easy ganks, and lots of tough, prepared enemies.
But we provide a wealth of logistical and financial support to our members. We're totally unique in EVE - A PvP force funded by the parent alliance though a monthly budget, with a salaried Command team, and comprehensive support for members.
There is no-one else quite like the ISSN.

No membership fees - all the benefits you see on the front page are what you get.
The more active a member is, the more they take advantage of those benefits. It works well... relatively inactive members cost us very little. Active members can cost us a lot, but we don't mind, precisely because they are active.
We are funded via our Alliance with a mission to protect shareholder investments, and occasionally we venture into empire for the 'easier' wardec ganks.

And honestly, this is some of the most mature players I've played with anywhere and has some real corporate structure backing it up. I think you will be impressed, I know I was.

We have a dedicated and professional recruitment team, headed up by Gaul Cascade as per the original post. They are currently pretty busy since we are in the middle of a recruitment drive. I would be suprised if it took more than a couple of days to get back to you though.
We have a lot of action and opportunities. Especially at our Cassini base of operations in EC/Torrinos area. If you wanted to get into PvP but were afraid to get into the water this is a great way to do so.
We have a very professional management staff and we aim to handle our players needs asap.

For all who have applied in the last day or two, we will get to your apps as soon as possible. Due to current ops, there may be a delay of a day or two. Be assured we will get to you.
Please be ready to answer questions, and also ask any questions of your own. Make sure to put any relevant info in your app you think might help, and please... DO NOT PRESS ENTER while writing the app. The amount of spam the recruiters get from that is INSANE.
Thank you for your time.

I've done many operations with the ISSN since my corporation has joined the alliance, and I love the comradery and challenge of participating with them. It's an excellent way to hone your PvP skills and have a great time while doing it.

1) Anyone who shoots a member of ISS has their corporation set to -10 to the ISSN and we will regard them as KOS, this includes alliances as well as corporations.
2) As often as you like. Gangs large and small are always being formed.
3) We are nomadic. We go to where the trouble is. This gives us a huge variety of enemies and PvP opportunities.
4) Yes, certainly. We occasionally have compulsory operations (ie, if you are online you must be there) but we would never make any demands of your RL, for example.
I hope that covers all your questions, drop me a mail with your main if I can be of further help.

Hmm, you may be exactly the kind of players I'm looking to join.
I've been looking to escape from the standard run of the mill PvE mentality of EvE for a long time now. I stopped playing (twice) mainly because i wasn't willing commit myself to losing ships, mainly because my rate of income in-game is depressingly low.
Here's some things about me, as a test to see if I'm the kind of player you'd accept :
1) I have 0 PvP experience, but am eager to learn (I've loved PvP in any game I've ever played)
2) I currently have 6.4 million SP, the vast majority of which are spread across Navigation (800k), Engineering (660k), Gunnery (2.3m, all in energy turrets and the support skills), Learning (1.1m), and Spaceship Command (1.1m, all in Amarr ships - 5 frig, 4 in Cruiser and BS)
3) I only have the ability to fly Amarr ships, and my skill template is designed around energy weapons and capacitor skills as a result.
4) I'm eager to learn the ins and outs of combat in EvE, but most importantly have fun doing so.
Oh, I own an Armageddon, which I notice you highlighted as a Good Thing, but I have very very little experience in fitting and/or flying it |

Does answering peoples questions count as a bump? Am I allowed to answer more than one question a day? May my corpmates answer peoples questions if their answers differ from mine?

Er, there was only one bump... the rest of us were either answering questions or engaged in banter from people outside ISSN... or is that not allowed? Shall we ask people outside our corp not to post questions or statements, or refrain from responding to them?

hey hey ISSN,
I dont know what to say really but i have almost 5M skill points so im not joining yet, if i can that is but i can fly a raven, megathron and after my learning skills il have a geddon to fly as well.
on the other hand i dont really have much PvP exp but im willing to learn and do what i must. i have vent as well as a headset, i have 5.1 surround sound so i gotta use the headset b/c taking orders from ppl when thier voice is coming from 5 different ways is really freaky.
Im from Ont - Canada if this helps your time zone probs and i can be on anytime of the 23/7 of game play. im posting this to maybe let you know ahead of time and to see if im able once i reach the 5M mark.
Thanks for your time, Ally. ============================================ Sleep is for the Dead. |

Ally,
Thanks for the message. Our advice would be to specialise. With 5m skill points you might be able to fly all the races battleships, but that doesnt mean you can fly them properly. Especially races as diverse as, say, Gallente and Caldari.
One requires you to train Missile and Shield skills, the other Hybrid, Drone, and Armor skills. Even highly experienced players would struggle with this. This would be on top of your core engineering, electronics, and navigation skills.
Choose which type of combat you prefer, and perhaps start with smaller ships and work your way up natually. For example, I have an alt with 9m skillpoints who is a pure frigate specialist - and all of those 9m skillpoints are put to good use for his intended role.
Take care, BD

Hey BD.
You right none the less, as you should know i have next to all skills needed for caldari as T2 shield mods, not so yet on those jav torps \ / anyway, im a char who will specialize in Caldari ships and Gallente ships, Amarr as i said i was gonna train is for personal reasons just to fly a awsome looking geddon. well i understand where you are coming from.
Armor repair is a must, and Drones i already have and plan on keeping i love the little bastards. Hybrids is as well a must for reasons for caldari and gallente. since they both favor them. Gallente ships are the ones im really getting into, im stopping with caldari once im at T2 torps and cruise missiles.
Combat i prefer would have to be with gallente, and thier wealth of power and support, but i do have the caldari ships for NPCing and mission running. and im always slowy working my way up. Having to be able to fly all the BS's are not my main goal. in fact im not even gonna train for lasers, even if i have a geddon. i just want one in my station to be able to fly around in. like having a shelby GT500 at home.
Ok, overall im sticking with Gallente and learn their ways. Hybrids, Drones and Armor skills will not be a problem. Minmatar and Amarr i may never put sp's into. as for Caldari im sticking at a BS and its T2 mods for its my NPCing and Mission running goals and jobs.
Please let me know if you still wish to have me come aboard. Ally ============================================ Sleep is for the Dead. |

I might be interested. I've been out of the loop for about half a year though, so I'll have some catching up to do. 'bout me:
- 25.6 million SP - Specialized in Amarr BS & HAC, can fly all the other stuff as well though - Alliance & 0.0 experience - Been playing the dark side (read: pirating) for a while. I don't expect that to continue though, so no worries. - Euro zone
Let me know if this fits your expectations

Well, if an nameless source you happen to know told you that, it must be true . How about you ask some questions about how ISSN in managed, and judge for yourself?
Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, ISSN have an incredibly strong management team. I'm not sure how this person arrived at that opinion, all the traffic in my ear from new recruits is the complete opposite. Also its easy to say 'crap leadership' without quantifying it, which is exactly what you have done. To me, that means nothing. Come at me with something specific and I'm only too happy to listen, say 'but its just crap' like some kind of demented teenager and I'll show you the door.
We have a number of highly capable Directors with specific responsibilities - Member Tracking, Recruitment, Fleet Deployment, Logistics etc. Each Director has a team of willing pilots to assist them. They all do a superb job, I really cannot fault them. ISSN is without a doubt one of the best managed corporations in EVE, I get this kind of feedback from members all the time.
ISSN is a large corporation, its incredibly complex to run, with a multitude of benefits available to members, but we run it pretty much flawlessly. That is a huge credit to its leadership, and I am immensely proud of the corporation we have developed.

Well tbh I'm not sure what time that translates to in EVE time, but I suspect its the 'dead zone' before DT when our recruiters are not online.
Perhaps the best thing to do would be convo them at the weekend, when you can be a little more flexible on time :)

Yeah, people can bring their alts in if they like.
What a few people do is have a PvP focused character at our current base of deployment, and place a more industry focused character at our 'secret carebear retreat' to mine Ark and NPC 1.5m rats all day.

We don't. My best advise is to settle into the game and see where it takes you. If in 6 months time, thats us... great.

ISS have a lot of industrial corps. Go to www.eve-iss.com and leave a message in the public forum if you want to join one.

Hehe, what I mean to say was 'you can bring your alt if your main joins'... we don't allow alts on their own
