Oh and to the moron saying noone cares about hed, you will prolly find a lot of people who were in the xetic, ca, sa war have a bit of a soft spot for it. But you was prolly mining veldspar then so i'm sure we'll forigve your ignorance.
It's not pf-346... but good times were had at the hed-gp gate.

Heh, the corridor is still loads of fun, it just depends when you go there. Naturally at prime time it's loaded with big gangs but around DT can find alot of interesting random encounters and have loads of fun.

Hi. As far as i see it, a big part of this game is obviouslly team work. If you have no team, aka "friends", aka "wingmen" you shuld get some and stop poluting the forums whith yer whining.

The HED pipe is a like a last resort place for me and my pals. Meaning If I cant get a fight anywhere else you can always go there. Shuttles and noobships dont quite satisfy the apetite though. Although there is the occasional gem.

Some people actually prefer to fight alone, the fun factor is much higher ;)

Well, I understand that Solo PvPing is alot more "xtreme" and i like it alot myself. However, I am aware of the risk involved and the danger of getting ganked by a gang/fleet/gathering of random newbies.
and when that happens, even though you knew it might, going to the forums and puliting them with whining is 4tl.

Edited by: Fitz''s Spy on 22/06/2006 11:59:27 We have gone down to HED in a small sized (6 or 7) gang of cruisers and smaller a few times and most times there is nothing to shoot at all or its so much bigger than what you have you have no choice but to avoid them.
The main problem is that pretty much no-one travels alone or in small gangs in anything other than ceptors which are very, very difficult to catch so you either end up blobbing or going home empty handed.
Trouble is no-one is interested (and I blame killmails and killboards for this) in a fun fight (which to me is where I have a 60% chance of winning :)) and so its all ceptors, stababonds, 5 stab ravens and blobs which all mean that unless you are in the same you are going to be in trouble.

I do agree with you on that whining on forums part, i merely just wanted to point out that some pilots choose to fly alone because they want fights instead of ganging up on some poor soul.

Flying around in a gang is indicative of having no wingmen...how? Or did you just not read anything I said about small gangs?

Quote: Lately though ive noticed a disturbing trend by some alliances to fly around with 50 man gangs and try to set gank traps.
Yep, welcome to the new EVE. What can you do though? Majority of the pvp pilots in EVE are in alliances. They obviously like to have protection, gank, and smack. That's how it is not just where you fly but almost everywhere. Anytime you really have a lot of small gangs and or solo combat pilots, then you will have gank fleets move in when they find out about those spots.
The sad thing, nothing will change. The good thing, solo and small gangs will only advance in combat a lot faster than all these sheep in alliances. It requires more skill and more survival being small than being large. None the less, like I said, people will always gank now. The cool thing though is majority of these gank fleets have no real tactics. There idea of setting up traps is sitting in the next system with bait on the gate or even setting up a bubble/int camp and hope you don't scan.
Maybe it will get better but I dout it. It's the trend now. Make a character, join a alliance, fly in huge fleets, and smack like you're not just a number in a group of non-skilled sheep who couldn't fight without a helping hand from the wiser.

Originally by: Lord Spidey A long time ago I lived deep in Paragon Soul well pretty much no such thing as small scale PvP existed, rather just gank fleets or ebil sansha rats. I eventually ended up making the move from there to the far more interesting Curse/Cac region where the pvp and exotic dancers were a plenty. In the past many of my greatest wins and greatest losses happened in the area of the HED pipe but I know it was always fun win or lose.
IÆve lost a Cerb while solo camping SV5 with just a medium bubble to a 30 man bob fleet. IÆve engaged in numerous small scale cruiser battles. IÆve chased an insta-ing blockade runner 12 jumps with my 7 man int gang cursing on Vent as were unable to ever catch it. IÆve looted overseer belongings from noob ships and IÆve run into FedorÆs anti frig geddon(I think) numerous times.
IÆve always had fun in the pipe, its like a lil mini syndicate where you can always go to find a lil bit of solo or small gang pvp action, whether its engaging a camp or fighting roving gangs. Lately though ive noticed a disturbing trend by some alliances to fly around with 50 man gangs and try to set gank traps. In my opinion this just isnÆt FUNàthis isnÆt what the pipe was meant to be. Obviously your choke points are going to be camped all the timeàbut by flying around in blobs that big youÆre pretty much guaranteeing you wont get a fight. Last night flying around in the pipe in a solo caracal I tried to engage another caracal and 2 ints just for ****s and giggles! Well wouldnÆt you know everyone runs away from me after exchanging a few blows and I warp off just as a 20 man gank fleet jumps in. IÆm not complaining as if thatÆs how you want to play thatÆs your deal but please donÆt complain about how you get no fights and then smack. I almost cried last night when I saw 2 domis eager to face down a tempest and domi (who ran as fast as they could despite being in a pvp op) have to safe when the not fun blob comes along without even firing a shot.
This is a little bit of a rant I suppose but I miss the good old days when I could just fly up and down the pipe and find some good fun action. So I plea to you in the areaàbring out your small gangs and kill me! Leave your large gank fleets at home one night this week and take a spin out solo or with just a few buds and a few beers! DonÆt worryàIll be waiting.
p.s. flame or not post your good pipe stories or not. Eve-O forums always amuse me @ work

Not meant in a nasty way of course but you must have been playing with your eyes shut it you've only just realised what EVE has turned into , the HED- pipe has been like this for many many months , admittidly it has worsened of late ,
I've seen alot of ASCN/AXE blobs aswell as some of the more prominent pVp corps in the area , only thing you can do is ignore lone targets sat on a gate purely because you know the second you attack 20 of his mates jump in to kill you.
As you say I don't see the fun in this at all and think it's purely the isk gain why they do it , in some " fights " the target is probably even dead before you manage to get a lock on it - pure excitement eh , what I'd suggest is to take a detour off the main route into sides systems , I find I get alot more fights that way .

Errmmm... "pipe"? That word should be enough. You're not the only one there, and there are lots of people/alliances moving through the pipe (with certain objectives), and if you're in their way - you either run or you die. They're not interested in 1v1 PvPing, nor in chases, they have other things on their minds.

Thanks again though, you guys make me proud.
Welll, if 'new' to you means interceptors, understand that 'new' to us means T1 frigs, so the training works both ways, and the result is often predictable. Though if you seriously think we deploy sufficient resouces in the HED pipe to form 20 man gate camps, never mind 50 man gate camps, then you don't remember your time in ISS Navy Task Force too well.

The good ol days were before cerberuses, the good old days were the days of every system between HED, HLW, and DSS being filled with hostiles. The days when if you went into U-Q you knew you had a fight. The good old days ended pretty much when CA fell apart , CA/SA made it the good old days. ------------------------------------------------------------

i do miss the old triad days, some fights were ganks because they ran into us ^ ^ but the DSS campaign was so fun, we has some awsomes fights with SA, in fact the one with even number BS which we won was the best i have ever been in, not only the fights were fun, it was the members which made it fun, escpecially on friday nights with the old graveyard shift, mauna, master hybride, sacul, swindonbadger who was all highly influenced on the alcoholic stuff, and actually we got lots of kills surprisingly enough :D i do miss the good old fights in catch it has got boring over the period of time, but hopefully it will brighten up on day

Yeah, those 100 man close range fights that lasted over an hour of straight combat were some of the best fleet engagements I've seen in EVE. None of this 100km sniping malarky, just two fleets getting down and dirty nearly every day. Ohh the memories =)

Best of times for me. And the call from Duke and Xirt for me to jump into a 106 SA fleet. U-Q graveyard fights DSS. Rupture ftw then.
