So I was smartbombing with my apoc in Muttokon and ACHEM in Minmatar-Marines comes in a raven. I didn't want to fight so I just sat there at the gate with him. I'm pretty new to EVE so I don't know about all the corps and stuff. So he says an enemy Raven is coming through and he told me to put tight and take the fire while he shot at it. So I'm tanking the Raven's fire and ACHEM starts shooting me to so I warp out.
ACHEM then tells me in local that he killed the Raven and wanted me to help pick up the loot lol. I check my scanner and sure enough to Ravens on the gate lol.
So of course I don't go.
Anti-pirates are the stupidest people I've ever seen in my short time in EVE. Real honest to. They aren't half the pilots pirates are.

Most Anti-pirates are disgruntled miners who have battleships. Its not that they're stupid, its that they think WE are. Pirates are the smartest and best PvPers in the game by far, and I don't give a damn what anyone says, a 150 vs 150 fleet war is not PvP, its simply a war of who has the best internet connection.

antipirating only means selective pirating, and the ones that talk in local on end are the most annoying of all.
most antipirates i've seen are smacktalkers with more money on their pvp ships then knowledge of how to pvp, but i'm biased.
(smacktalking pirates are just as annoying though.)

that's a bit rich coming from someone who sits there with a potential hostile right there without engaging or warping. AND someone who announces outloud in public the system they frequently pirate in.

you cant judge all anti-pirates by only one case. I have met a lot of stupid pirates. Should i now go around and shout that pirates are the stupidest beings in EVE?

There are honerable Pirates, and dis-honerable pirates.
There are honerable anti-pirates and dis-honerable anti-pirates
To be perfectly fair, and I speak as an anti-pirate myself, it is more important for a pirate to keep his word than it is for an anti-pirate.
This is because if a pirate breaks his word, people will stop trusting his randsoms and this effects his income. Other pirates will band together to take the oathbreaker out!
If an anti-pirate breaks his word, people do not make that big a fuss. After all, he is seen as the hero rather than the villan, and his income is not effected by breaking his word. Heck, nobody would be any wiser as who would take the 'villans' word against the word of the 'hero'?
I myself have no time for oathbreakers of any sort, but I can admit it can be harder for the pirate to live his life out. But thats part and parcel of the choice he made!

300 man fleet battles are rare, and the amount of kills gained from these pale in comparison to the small scale or solo combat that dominates 0.0 warfare 90% of the time. The distinction between the actual player skills and tactics used in piracy and regular PvP are blurred for the majority of the time.

But I suppose I'm happy to hide behind the misconception that I, as a pirate hunter, am little more than a disgruntled carebear with more isk than brains.

It doesn't even have to be 150 vs 150.
I've been in fleet fights as small as 50 vs 50 where I was dead before my screen loaded: I didn't even get to see the lag, let alone the fight.

Actually if we thought pirates we as unskilled, incopetent and incautious as most of the general population we wouldn't bother hunting them. Speaking for myself and most other pirate hunters I know, the whole reason we hunt pirates is that you are more of a challenge to find, corner and kill than newb hauler01.
And anyone who talks smack is just a moron, regardless of profession.

There are some very clever antipirates as there are pirates, but I wouldnt say pirates are the smartest and best pvpers in the game.
On the other hand you get some very stupid pirates that sit at safes and go afk thinking they are safe, or anti pirates agressing someone thats -4.6 and then jumping back into secure space  .

Balls. Most pirates are barely what you could call pvpers, hunting pirates is a proffesion which requires more skill. I have played both as a pirate and pirate hunter, and I have seen no evidence that pirates are somehow inherently better pvpers.
I've seen so many pirates that will back down from an actual fight and do nothing but gate gank all day.
Pirate hunters are hunting people who have made running away into an art form, that requires a lot of skill. Which is why the incompetant ones stand out like a sore thumb.

I hate when people are @$$hats like that... There's no point to anti-piracy if you can't do it with the dignity and humanity that your prey lost (and in most cases, pirates are decent people, they just ruin the game experience for a choice few victims), otherwise you're just as bad as them.

Some pirates do the "you-cant-count-how-many-stabs-i-have-on-my-aligned-sniping-megathron-170km-away-from-a-gate-popping-shuttles-and-running-from-anything-that-can-do-2-shield-damage" crap. But pirates who refuse to do actual fighting and just do that all day tend to get hated by the real pirates if they keep doing that and don't do some real fighting.
I, personally, prefer when theres a challenge. It gets your heart pumping and adrenaline flowing.
Ofc I gotta stop buying so many named mods for my ship. I keep podding my wallet rather than my victims.
