Well, and this took some remembering:
LordZap Borgfusion Skillz Beeblebrox Viceroy
I remember the Corps themselves better:
m0o Corp 1 Sharks with Fricken Laser Beams Space Invaders Killer Clowns from Outer Space
anyway, thats about all I can recall for now, good times they were too.

Edited by: Bagehi on 14/07/2006 19:21:00 The pirates I've run across that stand out, and reasons for their infamy are as follows: òVerone - probably one of the best pirates in the game. He isn't indiscriminate like many of the other pirates, and he does tend to be kind to noobs (unless his gang gets bored), so I think part of his recognition is from the people he let go when they were new players. DonÆt take this as heÆs soft, he might let you go, then an hour later pop you. Plus, VETO does a good job of gang fighting, you escape one and seconds later you have 5 more blowing you up. òGinger Magician û it is fairly obvious why he has made this list. (1) He has insane body counts. HeÆll snipe a high traffic gate for an hour and make the pod kills in system sky-rocket. (2) He is THE forum (I guess it doesn't like *****... so I'll say junky). òX13 û canÆt nominate a single player from this corp without nominating most of the rest of them. When a single member of x13 shows up in system, most people dock and wait until they leave. òMot Deduex û if you just finished up training for that battle cruiser or battle ship and happen to be in system when sheÆs around, prepare to die. 6th sense maybe, but she knows when you donÆt have the skills to pilot that ship and shows up in her interceptor to finish you off before you realize what happened. These are only pirates I have seen in action enough times to separate them from random weekend warrior type of pirates. IÆve been in-system to watch or listen to their exploits, or been yet another target in their exploits. This is not an inclusive list, just the ones IÆve run across.

pirating, just like any pvp is for the fun of it for the stalk before hand, the warping in, killing your prey and getting out alive. gets the heart pumping
although these days pirating is very hard with so many stabs and ecm.
yeah pretty much
i used to be very anti-pirate and whenever my old corp would see a low sec pirate we wouldnt kill because of getting a sec hit. Im more of a pvper, sometimes i ransom though.

Verone imho has been a name whispered with dread with a tinge of jealousy as far back as i can remember , dont believe ive had the pleasure of his customer satisfaction mail mind you but Verone + Piracy + Ur death seems to go hand in hand :)
There are of course many other names too many for me to list of almost equal stature but my vote go's to verone main reason he must be the most well known feared and respected pilot i know.
And hes honest to boot. Id have to say verone too. And I'm very glad not to have the satisfaction mail :D

Indeed.
Although they haven't been seen in game for quite some time now (at least to my knowledge) the names Jexter and Fist are still remembered by many.

I think when the player count was much smaller it was possible to be famous in Eve. Now, I don't think so.
The names of the people who were famous back then are familiar still, but that isn't the same as the fame they enjoyed.
Let's take TankCEO, for example. Back in his prime he was in/famous People through-out the game had heard of him by word of mouth, not by forum posts. His name was muttered in local, and his location constantly talked about. He was on people's minds, inside their heads. He was famous. (He was also good fun, and very misunderstood )
Now we don't really have that. Eve is becomming increasingly populated, and I guess that somehow serves to dilute the possibility of notoriety.
Sad really - but that's progress.

Baah, I don't want to be on that list - I have done nothing that makes me qualified to be mentioned here.

Killing unarmed haulers, mining barges and people that are set up for ratting with little ability to pvp gets your heart racing? Ya must be easily frightened. I suppose high sec suicide ganking absolutely cripples you with adrenaline.

Pirates ive been impressed with..
1. Carthago/lightstorm basically taught me to pvp, a very calculated pvp'r and a great friend i`ll miss him.
2. V2GBR- 1 of my best eve mates and now an RL friend, always wants a fight and will always speak his mind
3. Death Warrant - Old school pirate now a merc, nice bloke to boot
4. Ed gein/Vampire blade/jebidus/itachi - Apart fromt he fact they cant stay in a corp for more than 5 mins their great guys and very skillful
5. Verone and Veto - Havent fought them but always nice to chat to. Verone used to build me kessies and caracals when he was a miner and I was a noob
6. Trepkos/Kilrock and ANDE - Nice guys shame they are american timezone , good at small gang warfare.
7. Alindyar - dodgy dutchman but you have to love him, another ledgend not playing anymore
8. Cro Ramel - Be very afraid of his 1400mm tempest
9. Tinuk (sp?)- Not sure if he still plays but was a scary scary man
10. Darth Solo - pretends to be a good guy but we all know the truth

You are soooo right, don't forget the handy bonus to in game resists as well. Makes me laugh people quoting 'old school pirate blah'.. well, what does it mean ?. Maybe 'old' as in early in game, or 'old school' as in before CCP nerfed piracy to hell and back. (if you don't see this has happened slowly in last 2 years wake up!)
Me... I aint 'famous', I just killed alot of people at gates weaker than myself and said 'lol' in local lots. Maybe that counts though
edit: I do remember from years ago the very sight of Tank in local sending everyone to safespots... I guess there are so many low sec guys now people can't be *rsed.

I've made this list so many times before, but the people want it, so let them have it!
- Ryan Routine, surprised us all when he joined TunDraGon, and pwned people so hard!
- Lifewire, excellent strategist, had some of my funniest experiences under his command!
- Axel, can do some serious **** with his megathron. Maker of the movies Berserk I, II and III btw
- Myal Terego, super guy, everybody liked him and a fabulous pvp'er!
- Godwin Cadela, the man who dragged me into the game! Has lead The Exotic Dancers Club to success, and for that, I salute you
- Myself for being so darn sexeh
