If so, save yourself some money, buy a single player game, get a chatprogram and play the game while chatting with others. Because thats what someone who only runs missions is doing, playing a single player game with added chatfunction.
You know...I'm more of a PvE'er than a PvP'er...primarily because I did run PvP in the days of UO (you know, the same game the devs played before making EVE). So, I think that my preference is a bit more informed than some might initially credit me.
And what irks me in all of this is YOU telling ME how I should have fun. I'll stand up for every valid point made by a pirate or a PvP'er or anyone else outside my worldview if it's good for the game...but what certainly isn't good for the game is defining "fun" (aka, PvP / 0.0) as a small subset of the activity that 26,000 people engage in.
Should zydrine be mass-farmable from missions? Probably not. I accept that zydrine generally is obtained outside Empire in 0.0 space. I even mined some personally when the game averaged 5000 at login and my friends and I just stayed away from systems with any population.
Should mission running in Empire be relegated to frigate/destroyer class missions? Hell no.
In fact, mission running is -why- my friends came back to the game, after getting sick of getting gate-ganked...so for the one person (me) who stayed from beta & release to today, 4 people left the game over ganking...and those 4 came back in addition to two others...all because of mission running. Is that statistic globally true? No...but you'll choke at the first word if you think that the increase in subscriptions which paid for the new cluster etc didn't have -some- part of it funded by a lot of mission running.
Otherwise, hit F10 and quit attacking a playstyle you don't like, when I don't like your playstyle. I look past my dislike, and I might even agree with you on some of the balance issues.
