Hey,
If you're like me, you often hear about those guys owning 10B, 20B, 30B ISK. I simply wonder how those guys make so much ISK ? I've never ran after money, but it should be so nice to lose a TIII without feelings wrecked. Honestly, I know that there are maybe 10 posts like this one a day but I can't find an answer myself. |

The first key is to diversify - adding passive (or semi-passive) income sources to active sources is the best way to make ISK. I do some ametuer market trading and PI (both of which I consider semi-passive since I only put an hour or two into them at a time) on alts, and I run incursions actively, or run nullsec anoms on an active basis. I make a few billion a month. I'm not part of the space 1% by any stretch of the imagination, but I can afford to dump a T3 (or a carrier ) without having to sell all my assets to recoup the loss. Trading is a very good ISK-maker.
Because it scales magnificently.
Meaning that, whatever trade business you set up, the effort (hours per week) that you need to go from, say, 500 Mil to 1 Bil is about the same effort that you will need to go from 1 Bil to 2 Bil, and so on.
Yeah, it's not that easy, but you get the idea.
Furthermore, you can trade anytime you have 15 or even just 5 minutes.
Other activities such as, say, missioning in highsec and even incursions, have a 'hard ceiling' to ISK/hour. |

Look, if you have to ask, you are not even in the league. There are players now worth over 10 trillion. That number is based solely on the concentration of wealth as we have seen more and more null sec income being created, and it flowing through the hands of a small amount of players. These players can skim just a tiny fraction of that cash flow and it is still an enormous amount they are pocketing.
I personally know at least one trillionaire trader with links to null sec, and another trillionaire who runs incursions and mines, but 12 hours a day, every day, for many many years. I also know someone who is in PL and personally owns 18 moons. Their income is insane, and must be closing in on a trillion.
And these three are not even heavy hitters in the scheme of the null sec pyramids. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

According to the well-informed metric given by Aryth, 50bil is only space middle class.
50 billion?
LOL. If you live in null sec, and are worth less than 100 billion, you are doing it oh so wrong. 45M / hour (after 15% tax) in an AFKtar, 3 hours/ day, 6 days a week = 800 M, plus who knows how many escalations. And let's not forget an SRP that actually your profit from the more ships that you lose.
So easily 1 billion a week, more like 3-4 billion / week, with good escalation drops. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

Thanks to all those who answered me. However, I'm not interested on earning 100B, or 50B, or a trillion a week, because this is by far way to much money for the ship I'm interested to fly (and lose).
I see some of you talking about 1B a week, this is already pretty cool for me.
So the 1st thing you're talking about is trading. I must say that I've done some of it, and it worked pretty well, even if I had small amounts. But then I wasn't steady enough to make real profit with it.
The other thing is incursions. I have run some of them with TDF and it's very lucrative ... if you manage to slip in a fleet. Incursions made me spend more time waiting for fleet than making ISK, so eventually it wasn't that good.
Now I think the best I can do is try to get some ISK by trading, and focus on it. |
