I can't be in the alliance pvp tournament for several reasons;
1) I have only been playing since 2004, and I have heard that there will be players competing that were created in 2003... IS THAT FAIR? CCP plz help!
2) I can't afford a faction Battleship (except for the CALDARI NAVY RAVEN I own that I use to run missions with all day)
3) I can't afford faction loot to put on my ship (Even though your not allowed to use Faction modules, I am too lazy to read the rules and have seen many other carebears like myself use this excuse in other posts).
4)If ASCN can't afford to sponsor a team, how is a small mining alliance of just 400 members going to? It would cost us at least 300 million isk to buy all the ships, mods the team would need. People can't afford their own stuff, CCP Plz help! My alliance would need to mine collectively for at least 15 minutes to recoup those costs.
5) I can't afford to lose a tech 2 ship or tech 2 modules. People that build tech2 stuff are evil and I think tech2 should cost the same, or maybe lil more than tech 1.
6) I can't afford implants, I don't mean faction implants, I mean +3's, this puts me at a disadvantage cuz I can't train as fast as others. AND its not fair!
7) If I did have a full set of faction implants, I wouldn't want to use them in the PVP Alliance Championship because even though its not allowed I might get accidently podded and lose them.
8) My alliance doesn't have anyone that is capable of commanding a fleet. Our alliance Fleet Commanders just scream "lets get together" in alliance chat and get us to form a blob on the xyz-123 gate after they explain to a dozen ppl what a blob actually is.
9) I asked my CEO about entering the PVP alliance championship and told him I wanted to represent yo... He said our alliance didn't have any pride and that it would be a lost cause.

11) I can't find enough people in my alliance who want to join my team.
12) I didn't have time enough to get ready for the tournament, train skills, sign up... Even though it was mentioned in the news a month and a half ago, and you still have a couple weeks to go

13.) I've heard someone say that there will be lag and that this lag is actually created by ccp on purpose and on my end only. Also if I lag my family will die!

At first I was diappointed that there was so little participation in the Alliance PVP Championships...
But this list of excuses helped elucidate for me why only a small number of people had the guts to step forward.

Um. I think ASCN was one of those who got bumped out when LeMonde set back his deadline by 24 hours without notification? I heard some folks going "wtf just happened with the deadline" in several places.
Oh, and 300M to equip the team doesn't get you there, not by far :P Though it is less then a million per member of your alliance if I am not mistaken ...
I love Nr 13 though :P

I heard that the winners will not be decided through trial by combat, but that prizes will be allocated via a modified T2 style lottery.
