They lack ambition, I tell you.
I feel most self-proclaimed-feminists just want equality where it brings them an advantage. That sounds backwards i guess, but imagine a guy taking a "feminist" out to diner. He then proceeds to split the check and expect her to pay for what she had. Now is she going to say 'Thank you for treating me as an equal" or is she going to rant and expect him to pay for her food?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all fer gender equality when it comes down to wages and such, but when it comes down to holding the door for a lady and such, I'm a chauvenistic pig. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm all fer gender equality when it comes down to wages and such, but when it comes down to holding the door for a lady and such, I'm a chauvenistic pig. You'd be wrong about that almost every time. A woman who is a feminist (not all feminists are women, remember) would usually prefer to be treated as if she is capable of independence even if she makes a lot less money than you do. Exceptions are when: a.) you invited her to dinner, which gives the impression you'll be paying b.) she doesn't make enough to afford eating there
Some feminist women get irritated by chivalry (NOT the same as chauvanism), especially in situations where the woman wasn't significantly disadvantaged, such as a man holding a door open for her when she's clearly capable of opening it easily by herself, paying for her dinner when she invited and makes more than the man, or something else along those lines. A lot of women, especially feminists, like to be treated as strong, capable individuals.
I hold the door open for people who look like they'll have a harder time at it than me, I try to pay for dinner when I invite, and if I can't pay both sides of the meal I let the person know beforehand. I treat both sexes equally, though I am more likely to avoid hitting a woman in self defense not on the basis of their sex but on the basis of them being less likely to be a threat or able to defend themselves. Of course what I really determine is the threat level and their capabilities in the fight, regardless of sex. I treat women equally in pretty much every other venue. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's. Meh, I hold doors open for all kinds of people all the time when I happen to go through said door before them, or sometimes when we arrive almost at the same time and I let them go first.
Are you serious that some people may be offended by that? o.o
I agree about dinner, though: The one who invites is usually expected to pay, at least in my opinion. Not worth fighting over, though ^-^ |

When I am invited to a meal, I never ask how the bill will be split but I bring funds just in case, though I have the expectation that the other person will accept the majority or all of the bill. I treat both sexes equally, though I am more likely to avoid hitting a woman in self defense not on the basis of their sex but on the basis of them being less likely to be a threat or able to defend themselves. Of course what I really determine is the threat level and their capabilities in the fight, regardless of sex. I treat women equally in pretty much every other venue. this is generally an a+ post, but the bit about hitting or not women in fights reminded me how weird it is that one of the most common retorts anti-feminist guys have against "women just want equality" is "oh, so does that mean i get to hit women"? like, why do these guys want to hit women so much anyway
anyway the answer is that estrogen generally leads to less aggression/muscle tone/upper body strength, and you shouldn't be hitting people that are weaker than you even if you're not a violent misogynist |

It is rare for anyone to be openly offended but some women are quietly offended by having men hold doors open for them, especially in situations where they should be doing the favor.

I just hate it when people try to make it into a binary case: men can be hit and women cannot. There are many reasons to avoid hitting men, and sometimes women are basically asking for it.
One thing I like to say to anyone who thinks they are treating people equally: of course there will be minor differences in the way you treat different groups of people, but you have to ask yourself if those differences have a reason other than because of the group they are in. If not, you are acting with prejudice, and are not treating them equally. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. All of her mouth and tongue movements are exaggerated when she sings, but her tongue on each 'L' is the most evident.
It's much more evident in studio videos than in live videos, because you can't really sing live that way. When you sing, the way you move your mouth and cheeks has a strong effect on the sounds that come out, you can't just do whatever you want or you'll f*k up the music.
In videos, she exaggerates it to look more sexy and available, it's a very nice trick.
By contrast, other wannabe 'sexy pop stars' that just dress scantily and shake their behinds a bit look like amateurs. EVE Online: Death-o-meter |

That's true. I knew Britney Spears was far more talented than most of those scrubs out there but I can't always place what makes the difference. Yes, I have to agree she does very sexy mouth movements. I can think of a few others who seem to be trying such, with less impressive results. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Yes.
Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson seem to have chosen that 'I'm a real sweet girl but maybe I'd do you becuase you're a real sweet boy too' thing, which is pretty old and boring. Britney cuts the crap and just does the 'Yeah, I'd probably do you if I feel like it, and maybe your sister too'.
But I never understood why Christina Aguilera had to go down the dirrrty route too, since she's a much more talented singer than most of the others.
I guess she didn't feel confident enough to pull off the down-to-earth-gorgeous-perfection act of one of god's greatest gifts to humanity. EVE Online: Death-o-meter |
