In all honesty, I think that most of us BoB would actually like some good oldfashioned all-out war GNW-style pressure.
That's why most of us got all excited when there was the rumour about some large coalition invading us with numbers far exceeding our own. Sure, we'd lose the pos's, the outposts, but we'd have months of fun waiting for us in the constant warfare you get when you're in a real (Eve) warzone. And of course the knowledge that in the end we'd win anyway.

Beating BOB is simple, I saw it on the simpsons in a haloween special. All you gotta do is stop watching and they will go away.

Please look up the 1000 other posts about this on the forums.
I believe chribba does a nice eve forums search you can use.
There is nothing curious about it so stop spamming every bob post with it.

I guess there arent that many pilots out there who would leave their ISK farms and go fight BoB for longer term (which I guess would be needed at least).

This sov thing has caused this situation, where u can kill tons of enemie bs and pwn them all day long, but in the end they will dock at their station, get out a pos and in the end win the war.
About ascn and d2 coming from two sides... Ok imange it happens, bob would focus on ascn, and kill those guys everytime like 5 days in a row, while that someone would get some indus in the system that d2 attacks and anchor pos. ASCN retreats cause they cant afford the loses or their gangs just shrink, bob focues on d2, and this would end in nothing then a few fleetfights, and d2 would also retreat, because the grunts dont want to login for a few hours and sit at savespot. This would also happen if bob and ascn would take on d2.
Coda has failed cause those guys are a mix of alliances who have collapsed and have shwon that those guys cant keep up with bob/d2 ASCN, will get spanked everytime they meet up with bob D2 is not intrested
So well, most of the big players are staying where they are and the rest hopes that someone else steps up and then join the bandwaggon to fail.
So for me eve has development into a direction where the skill anchoring is more important then large projectil if u want to get a region. I show u how to lead your fleets check it here |

I'm not sure why some people think you'll just be able to bore BoB to death. I would imagine that if BoB got bored enough that it became a serious internal problem, they would just go pick a fight with someone, perhaps someone big. If they don't want the territory for themselves, they have options, such as installing an alliance they're friendly with or "just" blowing up every POS that shows up in the region.

Why does everyone want to beat us? We are so nice and fluffy and stuff. We just want everyone to be friends, have a Coke, and hug a tree.
We don't like hurting people, but it is for their own good. Only through conflict can they know the joys of free love and peace, man.

Their you go. BoB is no more.
And so is the rest of EVE.

To break any of the major alliances is going to have to take a major blow to them. Think of fighting an 8 foot giant. Take out the knees and now he's 5 feet and can't walk. Now how to do that to the major alliances is a creative exercise for those playing at home. Many ways to cripple and hurt them, but they have to be part of a master plan and it will take more than just "a plan, and a man". It would take serious work and more important trust to those that know the plan.
To essentially kill any of the major alliances to the point where they cannot recover or fight back is what you have to do.
Its not something as simple as "attack from two fronts". Several things would have to take place, for one you would probably need about 1500-2000 pod pilots online at one time that are dedicated just to the destruction of any one of the major alliances. Why so many? Because of the simple reason you want to remove as much reaction time as possible. It would be really bad once the news gets out that there is an attack on the alliance you are hitting. And to think that any major alliance would not call in support via diplomatic or economic means is just crazy. And then there is the problem that after you elminated everything that you can destroy that is owned by the alliance, then there is the fact that you are going to have to either takeover or move away. Taking over is the best option but it would mean you would have to move the entire operation into that region, because to think any alliance does not know the chokepoints out of their systems and to think they have no plans on camping them and cutting you and your fleet from escaping or getting back to empire is just crazy. You will be cut off from empire and be forced to defend from potshots that any major alliance will be taking at your POSes and players as you try and setup shop in what used to be their home turf.
Right now its a cold war type era, lots of stockpiling and defending. And it would take an extreme effort to take out any one of the major alliances. Such an extreme effort it just looks ugly to even think about pulling it off. And there are plenty of things that could go "wrong", and stop you dead in your tracks or injure you hard enough that you end up damaging a major alliance quite heavily and the major alliance will easily recover but also in the end crippling yourself via various actions that ended up just plain going wrong.
If you have plans for taking out a major alliance, please go for it, it will certainly be a nice addition to EVE's history whether it succeeds or fails, you can start whenever you want, today, tomorrow, next week. Or is it that you don't think BoB is getting their fair share of action(maybe you are a former TRUST member?).

A lot of pvp'ers don't make a powerhouse. Like others said, modern alliance warfare is more than just shooting stuff. The goal is to build a powerful effective war machinery. BoB has it.
If you want to beat a racing team that's ahead of you, you have to improve your car, especially the aspect, where you lack behind. I think it's very similar to the situation with BoB.

BoB seem to enjoy PvP anything that encourages to try and PvP against BoB is fun for them. They are not the only alliance that seems to enjoy it, D2 also seems to enjoy it, along with the Goons.
Think about it would you like to be talk of the town or not? Especially if you deserved it, or even if you didn't deserved it and got people to think you deserved it?

Well.. it is a risk.
If D2 attacks Delve, ASCN attacks Period Basis and CODA attacks Querious with enough people we would be forced to concentrate on one group and lose space elsewhere. This could cause a drop in morale for BoB and lead to people leaving. Definitely possibilities here. Its just a matter of willing to take the risk.
However D2 and ASCN can't simply leave their space so I don't see this happening anytime soon.. unless a massive NAP bomb happens o_O |

btw, damn forum is goin nuts it seems..
Not sure about that. BoB is used to win and be the pwner. If you get camped like we got in EC that breaks morale pretty good Fountain died from the same thing couple of years ago. Continuated 2:1 odds for some weeks or months and BoB would lose members plus the bandwaggon would kick in and the forums would be full of "wha ahhaha BoB is the loser. Muahaha" posts :(
One would have thought that BoB would relish a fight, given the way everyone talks about them.

Allinace can be weakened and destroyed when its members don't feel like pvp'ing anymore or when big internal disputes make corps leave.
Simply bringing fleets to BoB space is not gonna kill the alliance, even if you manage to defeat that alliance's fleets most of the time. Replacing ships is too easy. You can try taking over stations, but they'll just retake them.
Can you think of ways to cause BoB to split?
perhaps by obtaining and revealing some provocative pictures of alliance leader's wife with some other major alliance guy?

Nah, i don't think Bob and Ascn are going to fight anytime soon. Bob isn't going to attack Ascn until we learn how to Pvp properly on a large scale. (Please note I am just a junior member so this is all my own opinion. I'm in Ascn.) The are some pvp capable people/corps in Ascn but from my experience there are a lot of members, myself included, who are not adept at fleet wars. The management are taking steps to fix this. I know that some of the pvpers in Bob left to join outbreak, and I think this is because in outbreak they can partake in pvp on a small scale, like in ymp, and yes they have given us some good fights, which I too enjoy more. -------------------------

You cant beat an PvP Alliance with pvp. As Rod said : they will ENJOY it.
BTW : You cant beat an Alliance, most Alliances are killing themselves by (forum) conflicts inside the Alliance.

Edited by: Samurai Saija on 28/06/2006 10:10:56 From how to beat dominating alliance cookbook.
New cool alliance start to play with bob and beat them in big fights with smaller numbers and generally win fights by outsmarting BOB and keep general public on these forums informed how much more uber they are than BOB. All who jumped BOB bandwagon will leave first because their ego cant handle losing such fights, leaving rest in trouple keeping their space.
Seen it happen in mmorpgs so many times that 1 dominating guild fall apart because most of their egos cant take that small new cool guild start beating them against odds.
Biggest mistake you can make is try make some huge alliance of alliances and try blob them. Nothing would increase their ego and raise fighting morale more than whole EVE vs BOB even if they losed some space they would be able to take it back later.
