Edited by: *****Rock on 24/06/2006 06:34:20 With the current situation in game, BoB is being untouched. There massive resources are going to waste securing fountain from a dead alliance when war could be had.
When looking at the territorial alliance map i can only see one way to beat bob. With current game mechanics and system lag it is currently impossible to get a fight greater than 200v200. Which makes sheer numbers useless. BoB can beat any number of people on one front for this reason becuase when theres even numbers, BoB usually comes out on top. So the only foreseable way to defeat BoB is a 2 front battle.
The one front would be from stain, only this attack cant come from some loose coalition of dead alliances, it needs to come from a strong unified entity such as ascn. If ascn were to attack from stain and a strong entity in the north, such as Dusk and Dawn where to attack into fountain. BoB won't have the numbers, even with the newly added DICE BoB don't have the numbers to fight a 2 front war. So if the two alliances were able to keep pressure on BoB's territorial holdings BoB will eventually crumble.
PS: Even though these are the words of an alt, they aren't any less true.

Uhm, right, first of all BoB aren't that all powerful entity you think they are, and secondly I doubt these two allies want to do that.

The way to kill BOB is well frankly to show up. No allience has done that yet, and guess what BOB are still around.
Its not an easy fight, so most won't be up to the challange. And those that can do it, frank;y have no interest in doing it at this time. So it looks like your stuck with them unless Xirt can plant anouther tree or something.

Who cares about BoB, ASCN is the true threat. Just look at the t2 production and outpost building they have done. Remember kids, industry CAN defeat a great empire.

ASCN probably could, although bob may have the individual skill thats not so important in mass bs fights where lag is half the fight, and as ascn proved against iron and G they can lose huge numbers of ships and just keep coming look at the number of outposts ASCN have built, they're possibly the only alliance who's logistics would be better in a war. In a way they're goonfleet but on a different level with two groups that powerful it'd be a war of attrittion
and yes d2 and ascn together would probably be able to zerg them down, but its not exactly a likely senario

Well you could easily eliminate BNC from bob
simply hijack their booze supply or if they are coming to fight you stick a few of these on their way

its quite simpel, jump in 300 dreads to delv, feild logistics to support it, field abut 600 support ships for the dreads 24/7, start nukeing every singel pos in delv fountain querius and that lile thing below i have forgotten, and take all the statioon and keep pressure on for like 1-2 years

You need to do more than that. Ever since the whole [5]vRA POS war it became clear that victory cant be achieved by beating the Fleet. You have to strip away the infastructure. Granted there are NPC stations but to me any alliance who relies entirely on NPC stations isnt really a true alliance anymore. The big 4, as I like to call them, have all blossomed and embraced this style of constructing and owning conq outposts. It a demonstration of their power.
Dislodging that power by force requires manpower but more importantly logistics of which all these alliances have an abundance of.
PS Big 4 = ACSN BOB D2 LV

Defeating a power-house is too problematic, thus why you don't see BoB, ASCN, or D2 having large-scale efforts against each other. These allies will swallow up weak entities in 0.0 until they can't help but turn on each other.
Post with your main please =]
The answer is much more simple. Powerhouses don't break from the outside, they break from the inside. With an in game community having a dedicated focus on one game perspective, a severe lack of that will through boredom bring breakdown.
Why do you think big groups always end up needing a dedicated external enemy :P
In EVE nobody defeats anyone frankly. Simply cause we just can't die for real - we keep waking up :P

Firstly, you get a good fleet commander, then you get some1 whoes good with logistics, get them to talk to each other and make a plan. Then, the FC makes a fleet, he gets some ship things, and puts like people of good quality in them, he devises a tactic, (tactics in eve, ROFL, a sheep could do it), of how he wants his fleet to operate, then the people fit the ships like that.
Then what you do is, you attack 1 of bobs home systems, with enough dedication and power to win over that system.
Other options include, getting cannon fodder, ASCN and goonfleet go in at 10km, then the t2 people sit 180km away with t2 ammo just sniping the hell out of them. And blobbing more than 1 home system, prefereably 4, with 200 people in each 1. E.g, nap eve.
BoB's FC's are pretty much just like every other good 1, nearly every alliance has 1 good, intelligent, "tactical" FC. They dont do anything different to them.

Well all that is needed is one person. A person that people will follow, a good organizor, a person with a lot of contacts in the different corporations and alliances. A person that will take the next step.

But anyway, a war on two fronts sounds fun. It would require a level of coordination, commitment and a willingless to take losses that hasn't been demonstrated by any of the other major alliances. But who knows - maybe a strong leader could emerge who could pull it off. Not seeing any candidates at the moment tho.
BTW what happened to the whole "all of EVE is coming to attack BoB in Delve" invasion thing? We were all excited about that then it never materialised .
